NFL giants Minnesota Vikings have confirmed they will make a special visit to Edinburgh in order to celebrate their 'shared historical ties' with Scotland - and fans will be able to meet them. As part of a two-day visit, current NFL stars Jordan Addison and Brian Asamoah will travel to the Scottish capital on Thursday July 3, alongside wide receiver coach and two-time Super Bowl winner Keenan McCardell as the NFC North team explore the sights and sounds of Edinburgh, and get introduced to some of Scotland's 'most iconic' traditions. 3 Minnesota Vikings players who stood out the most during minicamp

3 Minnesota Vikings players who stood out the most during minicamp The Minnesota Vikings had a productive minicamp last week after their entire team showed up for the workouts. They are looking to build on a promising 2024 campaign, and some players stepped up to make them believe they can. We wanted to highlight three players we saw as the winners from the workouts, not saying there were not more. The three players we are mentioning, though, are the ones who not only spoke up, but also are the ones who, with strong enough seasons, could make the difference between a Wild Card season and a Number-One Seed. Jordan Addison, Wide Receiver Jordan Addison has proven his rookie season was not a fluke and that the production could be replicated, even without Kirk Cousins. With J.J. McCarthy coming in, it was a new set of questions around him, and all week, the talk and clips centered on how well Addison looked with McCarthy throwing him the ball. On top of all of that, McCarthy mentioned he would be staying in Minnesota with Addison so they could work together more ahead of training camp. Dallas Turner, Edge Rusher Dallas Turner was buried behind the likes of Jonathan Greenard and Andrew Van Ginkel on the edges of Minnesota's defense in 2024. So it is understandable that he didn't have many chances, on top of the fact that Brian Flores is very conservative in his approach to using rookies. That being said, Turner was one of the standouts on defense during minicamp last week. If they can add Turner to the rotation of pass rushers, they will be able to keep them all fresh, and we have seen that be a winning formula for Super Bowl teams in the past. J.J. McCarthy, Quarterback You thought we wouldn't include the quarterback who answered all the arm strength questions? All jokes aside, seeing McCarthy in action for the first time in 10 months was enough to get him on this piece. He moved well in clips posted to social media, his arm looked good, and while there were some reported interceptions, there will be growing pains. McCarthy will be officially named the starter during training camp but for now just enjoy him being back on the field.

One Viking is represented on special team built by Bleacher Report

One Viking is represented on special team built by Bleacher Report When it comes to players being underappreciated in the NFL, it happens all the time. That is what made the exercise done by Bleacher Report this week so fun to look at. They published an All-Underrated team heading into training camp. Gary Davenport of the site created the team, and within it, he included one notable Minnesota Vikings player, Jordan Addison. The third-year wide receiver was mentioned in the team's wide receiver group and is arguably the best in the group. Davenport writes, "If Jordan Addison played somewhere other than Minnesota, he might already have a higher profile than he does. After all, Justin Jefferson casts a long shadow. However, Addison has been a solid young receiver in his own right. Despite averaging only 103.5 targets in his first two NFL seasons, the 5'11", 175-pounder posted at least 875 receiving yards in both of those campaigns. He has also been an absolute force in the red zone, reeling in 19 touchdowns to date." Jordan Addison could easily be a number one receiver for many other teams. The Bengals know about this situation, as they have Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. It helps both men avoid double coverage, which in turn helps their quarterback find them more easily. Addison again enters his junior season in the NFL with high expectations.

The 33rd Team lists four team needs for the Vikings

The offseason will officially begin on Monday, when the Super Bowl confetti will be removed from the field at the Mercedez-Benz Superdome. Most coaching vacancies and interviews have been resolved, so teams can move on from this process and uncertainty. Although the Minnesota Vikings went 14-3 in 2024, they still need to fill roster holes. Twenty-five players are set to hit free agency, and so far, players from the 2023 and 2024 drafts who were not named Jordan Addison still need to prove their worth. The 33rd Team listed four position needs for every team, and the Vikings have several familiar spots popping up again this offseason. The positions are: Cornerback Defensive tackle (or interior defensive line, as the Vikings play a 3-4 defense) Safety Interior offensive line They explained the needs: What the Minnesota Vikings continue to do without stars at key defensive positions is a testament to Brian Flores' abilities. The change from reliable but limited veterans to more explosive young players is risky and not something most coaches enjoy, but it is necessary for the Vikings to hit their peak with this staff. The offense can be an afterthought in comparison, but upgrades at left guard and center would benefit whoever is under center next year. Most fans and analysts would agree with these spots. Josh Metellus is the only starter set to return in the secondary right now. The interior offensive line has been a mess over the past decade. And although the interior defensive line was effective in shutting down the running game, the Vikings need a consistent pass-rushing presence from the inside. Fortunately, the Vikings have almost $57 million in 'effective cap space' entering the 2025 offseason to address these needs. If they can enter the draft only needing to address one of these spots, the 2025 season could improve the 2024 season.
