Bayern Munich make Malo Gusto enquiry
Bayern Munich have made an enquiry about the availability of Chelsea right-back Malo Gusto, according to L'Equipe. The 22-year-old joined Chelsea in January 2023 and has quickly established himself as a prominent squad member, making over 80 appearances for the Blues since his arrival. Advertisement Bayern's interest in Gusto comes amid uncertainty over the future of their current right-back options. They mainly deployed Konrad Laimer in that position last season due to injuries to Sacha Boey and Josip Stanisic. At least one of Boey or Stanisic is expected to depart the Allianz Arena this summer, and Bayern will need to bring in a replacement. The Bundesliga club have been keeping tabs on Gusto since his time at Lyon before he completed a €35m move to Stamford Bridge. Chelsea are not actively looking to sell Gusto, who is under contract until 2030. However, the situation is complicated by the presence of club captain Reece James, whose return to fitness could limit Gusto's playing time. Advertisement Gusto is also strictly a traditional full-back and is not comfortable inverting into midfield like Enzo Maresca demands sometimes. Additionally, the emergence of highly rated youngster Josh Acheampong has given Chelsea further options at right-back, potentially making Gusto expendable if the right offer arrives. Chelsea are sanctioning several departures at the moment, and Gusto's future at Stamford Bridge could be one to keep an eye on. The Blues have recently agreed deals with Arsenal and Bournemouth for Noni Madueke and Djordje Petrovic respectively, while more exits are imminent. For now, though, Chelsea's focus is on Sunday's Club World Cup final against Paris Saint-Germain.

The latest Chelsea player that Crystal Palace want to sign
Crystal Palace have enquired about Chelsea wonderkid Josh Acheampong on a season-long loan as their latest short-term deal from Stamford Bridge. The clubs have a history of working together with successful loans heading to Selhurst Park, starting with Ruben Loftus-Cheek when he used his move to get into the England squad for the World Cup in 2018. Acheampong, 19, is highly rated at Chelsea and has been tipped to be a full England international after playing for the Under-20s and breaking into Enzo Maresca's first-team plans last season, with his 13 appearances including a start at the current Club World Cup. Palace have targeted him as their primary signing from Chelsea this summer, with one loan allowed from a Premier League rival. Last season Trevoh Chalobah headed to Palace for the first half of the season, with Ben Chilwell there for the final six months. With Acheampong comfortable at centre-back or right-back, he is seen as the perfect loan to bolster Oliver Glasner's backline with the prospect of European football after winning the FA Cup in May. Acheampong recently spoke at the Club World Cup where he insisted he just wanted to focus on his football, adding: 'I love the club, so I always want to stay at Chelsea and just show what I can do'. It will be down to Chelsea to decide on Acheampong's plans for next season. Players have benefited from season-long moves away from Stamford Bridge, with Conor Gallagher also playing in south London along with Chalobah and Chilwell. Marc Guehi was also at Chelsea, although his move to Palace was a permanent transfer, as was Gary Cahill's towards the end of his playing career. Acheampong only signed his first professional contract at Chelsea 18 months ago and his potential has seen him included in first-team squads, making his debut 14 months ago. Maresca used him in eight Europa Conference games last season and also picked him in the startling line-up for two Premier League matches, one of them against Palace in a 1-1 draw. Chalobah returned to Chelsea during his loan last season as he had a recall option. The England centre-back, 26, is Napoli's No1 target to strengthen Antonio Conte's backline as they prepare for a return to Europe. Palace, meanwhile, are pushing ahead with a deal for Ajax's Borna Sosa, 27, for their left-back slot. As revealed by Telegraph Sport, they have launched an ambitious move for Sporting Lisbon centre-back Ousmane Diomande which would cost around £45million.

Uno, table tennis and beach - how Miami lifted Chelsea
Chelsea's move to the glamorous surroundings of Miami has been welcomed by squad members and staff. The Blues switched from Philadelphia to a known but unnamed beach resort in Miami for privacy reasons in preparation for the knockout stages. Several sources told BBC Sport that, although their previous base in Philadelphia was perfect - a five-star hotel in the centre of the city - there was increasingly a feeling of cabin fever due to the oppressive record-breaking heatwave that discouraged players from going outside. It remains hot in Miami but players have still gone for walks, coffees and shopping trips while remaining relatively anonymous in their street clothing in slightly cooler temperatures by the coast. They have also held a barbecue night. "Being in Miami is obviously amazing with the beach right there," said defender Levi Colwill. "It is nice just to walk, clear your head a bit. I'd say it is quite chilled. We've got a little card group going on. "You've got the pool, you've got the beach, you've got a lot of things to keep you busy while you're not playing football."There is also a games room, which was already present in Philadelphia, but is proving popular, featuring retro and modern console computer games, card games like Uno, table tennis and basketball facilities. Youngster Josh Acheampong spoke about a table tennis competition for the players, saying: "We did a tournament and Trev [Chalobah] was quite good. Enzo Fernandez and Tyrique [George] are actually also quite good. I'm not the best, but I find it quite fun. It was like a two v two tournament."Summer signing Dario Essugo added: "We play PlayStation, make some things, play Uno, to make the time pass quicker. The team-mates are very good guys and I am happy to be here."Families and friends have also been encouraged to travel and hosted by the club for the latter rounds after few came for the group stage. However, following two days of rest after a win over Benfica, training remains difficult. Chelsea are having morning sessions at Barry University to avoid the worst of the heat, but are still restricted to shorter sessions as they were in Philadelphia. The other downside of a Miami base is travel. Chelsea went north to Charlotte in North Carolina to play Benfica and will return to Philadelphia, where Friday's quarter-final opponents Palmeiras are based, on Thursday night before the game the following Chelsea win their 62nd match of the season, they are expected to set up a new training base near New York. The semi-final and potential final would both be played at the MetLife Stadium just across the Hudson River in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Chelsea starlet Acheampong hoping Blues 'uncle' can help Champions League dream
Josh Acheampong is being guided in his Chelsea career by two of the club's defenders, with one acting as his 'uncle' and another living out his Champions League dream Josh Acheampong grew up listening to the Champions League anthem - and now cannot wait to run out to the music himself. Acheampong, 19, joined Chelsea as an eight-year-old and went to big European games at Stamford Bridge as a kid when he could only dream of making the first team. Chelsea defender Acheampong has already played in the Club World Cup and is relishing the experience of playing in the United States with his own 'uncle' looking out for him. Acheampong revealed teammate Tosin Adarabioyo looks after the youngsters coming through which has earned him a friendly nickname in the dressing room. England youth international Acheampong said: 'Tosin is the oldest in the team. He gives me advice if I need to ask him any questions. He'll get me in the gym and stuff like that, so he's good. He's known as Uncle Tosin. 'He gives advice like to stay focused. Always, every day, try your best, work your hardest, do extras. Obviously, there's tough days. Training might be tough, you might play a bad game, but you've got to try and stay focused. 'Not a lot of people can say they've come to the US to play football. All my school friends and stuff like that. Whenever I show them videos and stuff, they're all really excited for me. 'I was thinking about playing in the Champions League the other day, to be fair. I used to go to the Champions League nights at Stamford Bridge when I was younger. Stuff like that, it's just really exciting. "I remember watching Juventus when Trevoh Chalobah scored. When we won, obviously, watching it on TV. So just days like that. I think I was on TikTok and a video came up from when Trev scored. And I was like: 'Hopefully one day that could be me.'' Acheampong has been a target for clubs - including Borussia Dortmund - for a loan move for the coming season but the Londoner is focused on staying at Chelsea and the quarter final with Palmeiras on Friday. He added: 'I just focus on my football. Hopefully we win our next game and win the tournament. I'm really enjoying it. It's good to play in nice weather. It's been fun.'
