'The Young and the Restless' Boss Teases Victor's 'Summer' Rivalry With 'Adversary' Cane

'The Young and the Restless' Boss Teases Victor's 'Summer' Rivalry With 'Adversary' Cane originally appeared on Parade. The Young and the Restless executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith, has big plans for the soap this summer. It's no secret that a majority of Genoa City's major players will be spending a good portion of the summer in France thanks to Cane (Billy Flynn). Having Cane back in the mix shakes things up for a lot of people, especially Victor (Eric Braeden). Even though Victor knew Cane was Aristotle Dumas, he kept that tidbit of information to stage has been set for Victor and Cane's rivalry to heat up this summer on The Young and the Restless. Griffith hinted at that when speaking to reminding fans to never count out Victor. 'He meets a very worthy adversary. I don't think Victor ever will lose. He will always win. He may face challenges, he may seem to stumble, but the great thing about Victor is that he always then reveals that he's been five steps ahead the whole time,' the Y&R boss teased. Speaking of Cane, Griffith admitted that he has a 'huge game plan' that keeps those around him guessing. Cane's motives aren't quite clear. The question of the summer will be whether Cane is back for revenge or his great love, Lily (Christel Khalil). 'All of our major players will find themselves caught in his web for most of the summer,' Griffith spilled about Cane. There's speculation that someone won't make it back to Genoa City from France alive, but Griffith didn't give any insight into that. However, we know that Conner Floyd is exiting the show because he has joined Days of Our Lives as the new Chad. If someone dies in France, all bets are on Chance. It's going to be one interesting summer on the CBS soap, so make sure to keep watching. The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.
