'The Young and the Restless' Boss Teases Victor's 'Summer' Rivalry With 'Adversary' Cane
'The Young and the Restless' Boss Teases Victor's 'Summer' Rivalry With 'Adversary' Cane originally appeared on Parade.
The Young and the Restless executive producer and head writer, Josh Griffith, has big plans for the soap this summer. It's no secret that a majority of Genoa City's major players will be spending a good portion of the summer in France thanks to Cane (Billy Flynn).
Having Cane back in the mix shakes things up for a lot of people, especially Victor (Eric Braeden). Even though Victor knew Cane was Aristotle Dumas, he kept that tidbit of information to himself. The stage has been set for Victor and Cane's rivalry to heat up this summer on The Young and the Restless. Griffith hinted at that when speaking to Soaps.com, reminding fans to never count out Victor.
'He meets a very worthy adversary. I don't think Victor ever will lose. He will always win. He may face challenges, he may seem to stumble, but the great thing about Victor is that he always then reveals that he's been five steps ahead the whole time,' the Y&R boss teased.
Speaking of Cane, Griffith admitted that he has a 'huge game plan' that keeps those around him guessing. Cane's motives aren't quite clear.
The question of the summer will be whether Cane is back for revenge or his great love, Lily (Christel Khalil).
'All of our major players will find themselves caught in his web for most of the summer,' Griffith spilled about Cane.
There's speculation that someone won't make it back to Genoa City from France alive, but Griffith didn't give any insight into that.
However, we know that Conner Floyd is exiting the show because he has joined Days of Our Lives as the new Chad. If someone dies in France, all bets are on Chance.
It's going to be one interesting summer on the CBS soap, so make sure to keep watching.
The Young and the Restless airs weekdays on CBS.

A Broadway Big Shot Is Now Reinventing Himself
Jordan Roth, the scion of a New York real estate fortune, a convention-challenging fashionista and a social media habitué, spent 15 years as a Broadway macher, running one of the big three theater landlords. He programmed hits like 'The Book of Mormon' and 'Hadestown,' nurtured plays and musicals in development, and joined the theater industry's inner circle at its cloistered confabs, all the while showing up at openings in increasingly fabulous couture. But it's fairly obvious to anyone watching Roth's evolving public persona that he's been looking for a new adventure. He has sold most of his stake in Jujamcyn, the company through which he owned five Broadway theaters, and he has dialed back his theater producing. Now he is moving on to a different stage, combining his love of fashion, his hunger to perform, and his taste for storytelling. He is pursuing 'narrative fashion performance,' and he plans a debut on July 10 at the Louvre in Paris. 'I worked for a long time facilitating other people's creativity, and that was very meaningful and very fulfilling, but I started to miss my own,' Roth, 49, told me during a rehearsal break at a black box studio in Brooklyn's Sunset Park neighborhood. Jay-Z Joins Beyonce on Stage on Cowboy Carter Tour in Paris, Omits Kanye West's Name in Hit Song
Jay-Z reunited with his wife, Beyoncé, for their first live performance together in six years on Sunday, June 22. Jay-Z — real name Shawn Carter — joined his superstar spouse on stage for her third and final Cowboy Carter Tour performance at Paris' Stade de France. The couple reeled off a string of their biggest hits, including 'Crazy in Love' and 'Drunk in Love,' which was remixed with Beyoncé's song 'Partition.' The rapper also treated Paris to a live rendition of 'N****s in Paris,' his hit collaboration with Kanye West from their 2011 Watch the Throne album. Jay-Z notably tweaked one specific lyric referring to his longtime collaborator. Instead of rapping, 'Just might let you meet Ye,' he said, 'Just might let you meet Bey,' per fan footage shared via social media. A Complete Timeline of Kanye West and Jay-Z's Relationship: From Collaborations to Falling Out While Jay-Z, 55, and West, 48, were once close friends, they appear to have had a falling out in recent years. In a since-deleted X post in April, West claimed that the drama stems from their collaboration on the song 'Jail,' which appeared on his 2021 album, Donda. 'Why did Jay Z have to say 'no red hat' on Jail,' West wrote via X. 'That s*** tore me to my soul. We fought about it and he told me either leave that line on there or take my verse off. Me wearing the red hat was the most stand out example of me going against 'the program.' Do you guys think he was instructed to say that?' In Jay-Z's verse on the track, he rapped, 'Told him, 'Stop all of that red cap, we goin' home' / Not me with all of these sins, castin' stones / This might be the return of The Throne (Throne) / Hova and Yeezus, like Moses and Jesus.' Everything Kanye West Lost After Series of Antisemitic Social Media Posts: Talent Agency and More The lines were a reference to West's support of President Donald Trump, which often saw the rapper wearing a red 'Make America Great Again' cap. In March, West made headlines for disparaging posts about Jay-Z and Beyoncé's twins, Rumi and Sir, 8. (Jay-Z and Beyoncé, 43, also share daughter Blue Ivy, 13.) Shortly after his tweets about Jay-Z's kids, West apologized in additional X posts, writing, 'I LOVE JAY Z AND I DO FEEL BAD.' He also claimed he was hurt by Jay-Z not attending his 2014 wedding to now-ex Kim Kardashian. 'I FELT LIKE BOTH HIM AND HIS WIFE COULD HAVE HELPED ME HAVE MORE LEVERAGE WITH MY KIDS,' West continued, referring to claims that he had been denied access to his four kids with Kardashian, 44. 'THEY COULD HAVE USED THEIR CULTURAL POSITION TO NOT JUST WATCH THE KARDASHIANS RUN ME OVER. S*** HURTS … SO F*** BOTH OF THEM CAUSE WHEN I NEEDED THEM IT WAS F*** ME.'

On-screen warnings on Bob Vylan set ‘not good enough' says minister
On-screen warnings issued by the BBC about discriminatory language during Bob Vylan's Glastonbury set were 'not good enough,' a minister has said. The BBC is facing questions after rapper Bobby Vylan – of the rap punk duo – led crowds at the festival's West Holts Stage in chants of: 'Free, free Palestine' and: 'Death, death to the IDF (Israel Defence Forces)' on Saturday. Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer has said there is 'no excuse' for the chanting, and the corporation said it showed a warning during the set's stream about the 'very strong and discriminatory language'. The Bob Vylan set was shown live on an iPlayer stream. Baroness Jacqui Smith was asked on Times Radio whether she thought the BBC has a bias. She told the station: 'I don't think the BBC has a bias, but I think it made a mistake here. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Bob Vylan (@bobbyvylan) 'It's not good enough simply to say on screen that, you know, 'this is dodgy language'. 'It was far beyond that, and it shouldn't have been broadcast live. And I think it would have been possible for the BBC to stop that.' The education minister also told Sky that she was 'surprised' that the BBC continued broadcasting the set. Over the weekend, the BBC said that viewers would not be able to access the performance on demand. A spokesperson for the broadcaster said: 'Some of the comments made during Bob Vylan's set were deeply offensive. 'During this live stream on iPlayer, which reflected what was happening on stage, a warning was issued on screen about the very strong and discriminatory language.' A former BBC editor has said that the broadcaster should have the ability to 'cut the feed' whenever there 'is a hint of hate speech'. Sir Craig Oliver – who also served as director of communications for Lord David Cameron in Downing Street – told Radio 4's Today programme: 'I suspect at next year's Glastonbury there's going to have to be a senior editorial figure who does understand the sensitivities and is going to cut the feed.' Sir Keir Starmer led the criticism from across the political spectrum over the weekend, and also referenced Belfast rap trip Kneecap, who had faced calls to be cut from the festival after a member was charged with a terror offence. Responding to the chants from Bob Vylan, the Prime Minister said: 'There is no excuse for this kind of appalling hate speech. 'I said that Kneecap should not be given a platform and that goes for any other performers making threats or inciting violence. 'The BBC needs to explain how these scenes came to be broadcast.' Bob Vylan, who formed in Ipswich in 2017, have released four albums addressing issues to do with racism, masculinity and class. Bobby Vylan's real name is Pascal Robinson-Foster, 34, according to reports. In a statement posted to Instagram, Vylan said: 'Teaching our children to speak up for the change they want and need is the only way that we make this world a better place. 'As we grow older and our fire starts to possibly dim under the suffocation of adult life and all its responsibilities, it is incredibly important that we encourage and inspire future generations to pick up the torch that was passed to us.'
