BJP slams RJD of undermining PM's efforts to uplift backward classes, accuses Tejashwi of pushing ‘Sharia agenda'
New Delhi, July 1 (UNI) Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia today accused Bihar's former Deputy CM and Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav of 'undermining' Prime Minister Narendra Modi's efforts to uplift backward classes, Dalits, and women and said that Rashtriya Janata Dal's sole objective is the 'imposition of Sharia law in India, and to empower only one community." "Tejashwi Yadav's party, RJD, is destroying the idea of empowering these marginalized sections. While they talk about Sharia, the BJP will continue to talk about the Constitution," he said during a press conference at BJP headquarters in Delhi. Asserting that 'Mahathugbandhan' is openly against the Constitution , the BJP spokesperson said, "The Congress manifesto said that it wanted to implement Sharia Law. Personal Laws will be implemented. Reservations will be based on religion, which is against the Constitution. NDA will never allow their plans to succeed. On 2010 May 7, Lalu Prasad Yadav said that the Waqf board has snatched the land of the government and the common man and strong laws are required to control Chief Lalu Yadav has never apologized for the disrespect he showed towards Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar.' Referring to Bihar's former Deputy CM and Leader of Opposition, Tejashwi Yadav's remarks on Wakf Amendment Act, Bhatia said, "Yesterday, a 9th-grade fail, Tejashwi Yadav, was saying that he would throw the Waqf Amendment Bill, passed by the Indian Parliament, into the trash. How can a state government dismiss a law passed by the Centre?" Taking on the INDIA alliance, the BJP spokesperson said, "If Tejashwi Yadav gives hate speech against the Waqf Amendment Act, then his purpose is to create a division in society. Our government in Bihar talks about development, and they talk about Sharia Law. In Karnataka, they snatched the rights of the backwards and gave them to Muslims," he said. Recalling the lawlessness that prevailed during the "Jungle Raj" of Lalu, he said , "The first rule of Jungle Raj is the destruction of the Constitution and the law, and that is exactly what Tejashwi Yadav is doing while sitting in the opposition." Questioning the RJD's so-called socialist agenda, Bhatia stated, "Those who call themselves 'samajwadi' (socialists) in Bihar are in fact 'namazwadi'. They do not want Babasaheb's Constitution and neither do they respect it. Their sole objective is the imposition of Sharia law in India, and to empower only one community." He took a direct jibe at Tejashwi Yadav, asking, "The so-called master of appeasement, Maulana Tejashwi Yadav, have you ever read the Constitution? Can a state government disregard a law passed by Parliament and signed by the President?" In another sharp remark, Bhatia reminded Tejashwi Yadav about his family's long tenure in power. "Tejashwi Yadav is now demanding 20 months, but the people of Bihar gave more than a decade to the Yadav family. What was the result? The value of human life was lost. Now they talk about youth, but have they ever given an opportunity to anyone outside their family to become CM or even party president?" Bhatia asked. Bhatia also questioned Tejashwi Yadav's stance on the Waqf Amendment Bill, pointing out that the matter is still pending in the Supreme Court. "Why does Tejashwi Yadav have such an anarchist approach? Why is he trying to demean the SC before it has even passed its verdict? Has Tejashwi Yadav become more important than the Supreme Court itself?" UNI AJ AAB GNK 1602

You promote Sharia law, BJP talks Constitution: Gaurav Bhatia slams Tejashwi Yadav over Waqf law remark
New Delhi: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia launched a scathing attack on RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav during a Press conference held at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi accusing him of promoting Sharia law and undermining the Constitution. Bhatia criticised Yadav's remarks on the Waqf Amendment Act and accused him and his party of disrespecting the Constitution and promoting communal politics. Addressing the media, Bhatia said, "Those in Bihar who call themselves Samajwadis are, in reality, 'Namazwadis.' These 'Namazwadis' do not want Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution. They neither respect nor uphold it. What they truly want is Sharia law. They support practices like 'halal' and believe that only one particular religion should be empowered." "If someone is opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of empowering Dalits, women, and backward communities, then it wouldn't be wrong to say that it's the RJD and Tejashwi Yadav," he claimed. Referring directly to Tejashwi Yadav's reported comment about discarding the Waqf Amendment Act, Bhatia said, "The BJP will talk about the Constitution, while you promote Sharia. It is sad the way former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that the law passed by the Indian Parliament, the Waqf Amendment law, he will put it in the dustbin. Please tell me, did you ever read the Constitution? Do you even know the fundamental rules of the Constitution? A law that is passed in Parliament, approved by the Parliament, how can you even say that a state leader can throw it into the dustbin?" He added, "This matter is already reserved in the Supreme Court. I want to ask Tejashwi ji, why is your behaviour so intolerant?" Bhatia went on to compare the current RJD leadership with what he described as the era of 'Jungle Raj' under Lalu Prasad Yadav. "'Jungle Raj' is just like Lalu and Tejashwi, the first rule of 'jungle raj' is that the Constitution and the law are torn apart. Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution is shredded and that is exactly what Tejashwi Yadav is doing while being in the Opposition. It is now clear that even though elections haven't been announced yet, what's on the minds of RJD, Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav? They want to play communal politics." Concluding his remarks, Bhatia said the people of Bihar will reject such politics: "Bihar's people will ensure that those who talk about putting a law in the dustbin and insult Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, their communal politics will be put in the dustbin instead."

BJP's tactics of spreading fear not going to work: Tejashwi Yadav
Rashtriya Janata Dal leader (RJD) Tejashwi Yadav on Sunday slammed the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), while countering the ruling alliance's 'Jungle Raj' jibe, saying that their "tactics of spreading fear are not going to work". The State faces assembly elections later in the year. Addressing at the Vaishya Representative Conference in Patna, Tejashwi Yadav questioned Chief Minister Nitish Kumar-led NDA alliance in Bihar over trade and asserted that never talk about those issues but only about jungle raj. "We have been in opposition for the last 20 years, and they are still crying over us. Why are they not taking accountability for their work? What have they done? What's their blueprint to increase trade in Bihar? How will they make small enterprises more beneficial? They'll never talk about that. They will say that Jungle Raaj will come. I have also been the Deputy CM for 18 months. Did the people not come out of their homes? BJP 's tactics of spreading fear are not going to work in this age," Tejashwi Yadav said. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like Play War Thunder now for free War Thunder Play Now Undo Tejashwi Yadav also highlighted Bihar's increasing poverty, unemployment and crime rates. "If you will look at the NITI Aayog's report, Bihar is no.1 in poverty, migration, and unemployment. There are no industries. If they (the NDA government) had even opened one sugar mill, then you tell me. Bihar is at the bottom in terms of education and health. NCRB's data says that after 2005, crime has continuously increased. What steps have been taken to create a safer environment? Has the chief minister visited any victim's house to share their grief?" Tejashwi Yadav said. Live Events Tejashwi Yadav reaffirmed that the RJD want to give Bihar a government that prioritises education, healthcare, income, and many other issues, while firing shots at Nitish Kumar , saying that there is neither justice nor development in Bihar. "We want to give Bihar a government where there is education, healthcare, income, irrigation, listening, and action. Today, there is neither listening nor action. Today, you can go anywhere and see that there is immense corruption. Nitish Kumar talks about Jungle Raj, but gives parole to such criminals who keep AK-47 at their house. Today, there is neither justice nor development in Bihar... We have always stood with the public of the state," Yadav said. Ahead of the Assembly Election in Bihar, Leaders of the BJP, Janata Dal-United JD (U) and other constituents of the NDA have been reminding people of Bihar of "jungle raj" under Lalu Prasad, saying there was a significant neglect of infrastructure, including roads, electricity, healthcare, and education. RJD leaders, on their part, have said that people will vote for change in Bihar polls and that the state continues to face problems of poverty and unemployment.

BJP and JD-(U) slam Lalu Prasad for allegedly insulting Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar
The ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Janata Dal-(United) leaders on Saturday slammed the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) supremo Lalu Prasad for allegedly insulting Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar by placing a portrait of the Dalit icon at his feet. The BJP media cell circulated the video of Mr. Prasad, in which the ailing leader can be seen seated on a couch with his feet placed on a sofa nearby. A supporter enters the room carrying the portrait and places it close to Mr. Prasad's feet before greeting him on his 78th birthday on June 11, 2025. 'It is very unfortunate that such a shameful act took place in democracy. The act proves that he considers himself a king and does not have any respect for anyone,' said BJP leader and Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary while addressing the presspersons at his official residence in Patna. While showing the video on a tab, Mr. Choudhary further said, 'Not giving respect to anyone and insulting everyone is in the DNA of Lalu Prasad. If there is anyone who has always insulted backward, extremely backward and Adivasi communities, it is the former Chief Minister Of Bihar, Lalu Prasad. His act also proves that he hates dalits.' He pointed out that Mr. Prasad does not evenrespect the party workers and leaders. BJP leader and another Deputy CM Vijay Kumar Sinha lashed out at Mr. Prasad terming him a social criminal. Bihar JD-(U) State president Umesh Singh Kushwaha also issued a statement saying that the insult of Dr. Ambedkar's picture by Mr. Prasad is a direct attack on the self-respect of the Bahujan Samaj and exposes the real mentality of RJD and the truth of its pseudo social justice. 'Lalu Prasad has once again proved that he is a symbol of political feudalism. For him, socialism is just an election slogan, which he has been using just to confuse the common people and enjoy the pleasures of power. It is meaningless to expect respect for Baba Saheb's ideas from a party where democracy and ideology are a mere show,' Mr. Kushwaha said. The JD-(U) State president asserted that people of Bihar will neither accept the arrogance of the Lalu family, nor will they ever forgive the insult of a great man like Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar. He alleged that hundreds of Dalits became victims of caste massacre during Lalu-Rabri rule. 'Dalit, backward and deprived society were most affected by the anarchy during the 15 years of Jungle Raj. These incidents were carried out by power-protected criminals under the nose of the Lalu family, which clearly shows that their mentality has been to suppress the deprived society from the very beginning,' Mr. Kushwaha said.
