You promote Sharia law, BJP talks Constitution: Gaurav Bhatia slams Tejashwi Yadav over Waqf law remark
Bhatia criticised Yadav's remarks on the Waqf Amendment Act and accused him and his party of disrespecting the Constitution and promoting communal politics.
Addressing the media, Bhatia said, "Those in Bihar who call themselves Samajwadis are, in reality, 'Namazwadis.' These 'Namazwadis' do not want Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar's Constitution. They neither respect nor uphold it. What they truly want is Sharia law. They support practices like 'halal' and believe that only one particular religion should be empowered."
"If someone is opposing Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision of empowering Dalits, women, and backward communities, then it wouldn't be wrong to say that it's the RJD and Tejashwi Yadav," he claimed.
Referring directly to Tejashwi Yadav's reported comment about discarding the Waqf Amendment Act, Bhatia said, "The BJP will talk about the Constitution, while you promote Sharia. It is sad the way former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav said that the law passed by the Indian Parliament, the Waqf Amendment law, he will put it in the dustbin. Please tell me, did you ever read the Constitution? Do you even know the fundamental rules of the Constitution? A law that is passed in Parliament, approved by the Parliament, how can you even say that a state leader can throw it into the dustbin?"
He added, "This matter is already reserved in the Supreme Court. I want to ask Tejashwi ji, why is your behaviour so intolerant?"
Bhatia went on to compare the current RJD leadership with what he described as the era of 'Jungle Raj' under Lalu Prasad Yadav.
"'Jungle Raj' is just like Lalu and Tejashwi, the first rule of 'jungle raj' is that the Constitution and the law are torn apart. Dr. Ambedkar's Constitution is shredded and that is exactly what Tejashwi Yadav is doing while being in the Opposition. It is now clear that even though elections haven't been announced yet, what's on the minds of RJD, Tejashwi Yadav and Lalu Prasad Yadav? They want to play communal politics."
Concluding his remarks, Bhatia said the people of Bihar will reject such politics: "Bihar's people will ensure that those who talk about putting a law in the dustbin and insult Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, their communal politics will be put in the dustbin instead."

5L chit fund investors to get refunds in 4 months: Samal
1 2 Bhubaneswar: State govt will refund money to all eligible investors who were duped by chit fund companies, said state BJP president Manmohan Samal here on Friday. He said the BJP, in its election manifesto, promised the people of Odisha to refund money lost in chit fund scams. The govt has already refunded Rs 47 crore to 1.26 lakh chit fund depositors in a year. "A list of 5 lakh investors is ready, and they will get refunds in the next four months," he added. Samal said that due to dedicated efforts of the BJP govt, eligible beneficiaries affected by chit funds scam will get their money back. He expressed gratitude to chief minister Mohan Charan Majhi for the initiative. He said that trusting the BJD govt, people had invested their hard-earned money in various chit fund companies. "Unfortunately, the BJD govt betrayed their trust. A total of 174 chit fund companies swindled the people of Odisha. Many ministers, MPs, and MLAs from the BJD were allegedly involved in misappropriating public money under the guise of chit funds," he alleged. Samal said several BJD members and ministers were jailed in connection with the chit fund scam. Mohanty said the BJP govt recently said Rs 119 crore was refunded to 2.79 lakh chit fund investors between 2014 and 2024. "It proves the BJD govt was refunding the money of chit fund depositors. 'Try And Remove': Mallikarjun Kharge's Dare To RSS Leader Over Preamble Remark
Hyderabad (Telangana): Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge on Friday came down heavily on the Rashtriya Swayamsewak Sangh (RSS) over its pitch to reconsider the words "secular and socialist" from the Preamble of the Indian Constitution while saying that it was "all talk". He dared and challenged RSS General Secretary Dattatreya Hosabale and top leaders of the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in the centre to remove the words "secular and socialist" from the Preamble. "Days before, I heard that some RSS person said that we should remove Secular and Socialist words from the Constitution. I challenge them - be it him, their BJP, PM Modi, or Amit Shah - no one can remove those words. This is my challenge to them. Can you dare to remove it? This is all talk," Mr Kharge said while addressing the gathering at the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) meeting. The veteran leader went on to recite Article 2 (Objective) in the BJP's Constitution and rules that talk about the party's "allegiance to the Indian Constitution and the principles of socialism, secularism and democracy". He questioned the inclusion of the words "socialism and secularism" in the BJP's Constitution. "If you hate the words secularism and socialism so much, why are they mentioned in your Constitution? These people are like this only," Mr Kharge said. Earlier on June 27, Congress leader and Lok Sabha Leader of the Opposition (LoP) Rahul Gandhi attacked the RSS, saying that it doesn't want the Constitution but the Manusmriti. Intensifying his attack, Mr Gandhi said that RSS intended to violate the rights of the marginalised and the poor while enslaving them. "The mask of RSS has come off again," he added. "RSS-BJP doesn't want the Constitution. They want Manusmriti. They aim to strip the marginalised and the poor of their rights and enslave them again. Snatching a powerful weapon like the Constitution from them is their real agenda," the Congress leader posed on X. This development comes after Mr Hosabale questioned the legitimacy of including the terms "socialist" and "secular" in the Preamble of the Indian Constitution on Thursday while addressing a program on the 50th anniversary of the Emergency held at Dr Ambedkar International Centre, jointly organised by the Indira Gandhi National Centre for the Arts (under the Ministry of Culture), Ambedkar International Centre. He remarked that during the Emergency, terms like "socialism" and "secular" were forcibly inserted into the Constitution -- a move that needs to be reconsidered today. He emphasised that the Emergency wasn't just a misuse of power but an attempt to crush civil liberties. Millions were imprisoned, and freedom of the press was suppressed.
