Streaming Platform Twitch Launches Right-to-Left Arabic Interface
Twitch has rolled out a full Arabic right-to-left interface across its web and mobile platforms, offering users in the Middle East and North Africa a more accessible and localised experience. Jul 15, 2025 Streaming platform Twitch has launched a right-to-left (RTL) Arabic interface across its web and mobile platforms, expanding accessibility for Arabic-speaking users worldwide. The update provides a fully localised user experience, allowing native Arabic navigation through account or device settings. The RTL update is part of Twitch's broader localisation strategy aimed at improving usability for streamers and viewers in regions where Arabic is the primary language. Additional Arabic-language features, including localised notifications and emails, are set to follow later this year. The update also reflects Twitch's growing focus on the Middle East and North Africa (MENA), a region that saw more than 209 million hours of Twitch content viewed in 2024. Popular categories in the region include 'Just Chatting', 'Valorant', 'League of Legends', 'Counter-Strike' and 'Overwatch 2'. Arabic-speaking streamers have long advocated for better linguistic support. The new interface addresses a key gap in the platform's accessibility tools, making it more approachable for first-time users and supporting grassroots content creation across the region. The launch coincides with rapid growth in the MENA gaming sector, which is expected to exceed $6 billion by 2027. This growth is driven by a combination of youthful demographics, rising esports participation, and national investments in digital infrastructure. Globally, Twitch continues to lead the live-streaming market, with over 655 million hours watched in 2024 and more than 60% market share. The company's new Arabic RTL rollout underscores its effort to match expansion with meaningful inclusion.

Twitch launches Arabic RTL interface to expand accessibility
Dan Clancy, CEO of Twitch, said: 'Launching Arabic RTL reflects our commitment to building a service where streamers from every background can thrive. By delivering Arabic RTL, we're enabling access, and supporting streamers to build vibrant communities in their own language. Our long-term vision is to localize with purpose and invest in the people behind the content. We've seen incredible growth across the Arabic-speaking world, and we're excited to continue investing in the tools that support community, creativity, and connection across the region.' The newly launched Arabic RTL interface allows users to navigate the platform in full right-to-left orientation. Arabic can now be selected as a language setting globally, either through account preferences or device language configurations. Additional localised features, including notifications and email updates, are expected to launch in Q3 and Q4 2025. The update comes at a time of surging engagement across the MENA region. In 2024 alone, Twitch recorded over 209m hours of viewership from MENA audiences, signaling a dramatic rise in popularity. Top content categories in the region include Just Chatting, Valorant, League of Legends, Counter-Strike and Overwatch 2, reflecting a diverse mix of competitive gaming and casual, conversational content. Twitch also continues to dominate the global streaming space, with over 655m hours watched worldwide in 2024 and more than 60% of the global market share for live gaming content. The Arabic RTL interface aligns with broader trends in the region's digital landscape, where the gaming economy is projected to exceed $6bn by 2027, fueled by national innovation strategies and a growing youth demographic. The launch has been met with enthusiasm from regional creators. Saudi-based Twitch Partner Meshael MR welcomed the move, and stated: 'This update makes Twitch feel more like home. It removes barriers for new streamers and shows that Twitch sees our community and is building with us.' As Twitch continues to grow its global presence, the Arabic RTL interface serves as a reaffirmation of its mission to support creative communities and celebrate cultural diversity. By enhancing access and visibility for Arabic-speaking users, the platform reinforces its dedication to inclusive growth in one of the most dynamic markets for digital entertainment.

Kick streamer BabyHaze gets knocked out after altercation in Tokyo amid ongoing assault allegations
Controversial Kick streamer BabyHaze, known for his IRL and Just Chatting broadcasts, went viral after being knocked out during a livestream confrontation in Shibuya, Tokyo. A 44-second clip posted to the r/LivestreamFail subreddit shows fellow streamer Karumo confronting BabyHaze and questioning him about an alleged assault. When BabyHaze asked to 'leave him the f**k alone,' Karumo punched him in the face, knocking him unconscious on the street. Moments later, an elderly local appeared to take BabyHaze's phone, and the stream abruptly ended. Full interaction that led kick Streamer babyhaze to get in Tokyo — ⚔️ (@kekzensky) July 12, 2025 Viewers were stunned as the man wandered around with the phone before eventually ending the broadcast from inside his home. The incident follows prior controversy surrounding BabyHaze, who has been labelled a 'nuisance streamer' for his divisive behaviour and is known to associate with Ice Poseidon. In June 2025, legal YouTuber Andrew 'Legal Mindset' discussed a previous sexual assault allegation involving BabyHaze during a livestream. Andrew referenced claims that BabyHaze faced a sexual assault charge in South Korea six years ago. A message allegedly from BabyHaze read, 'It was a sexual assault charge 6 years back which was proven not guilty... the girl was convicted with false accusation.' Users had mixed reactions to the Tokyo incident, criticising both streamers and the state of content creation. As debate around accountability for streamers continues, BabyHaze's content and conduct remain under scrutiny.

Nmplol and Kattpaccino Twitch controversy explained
(Image via Reddit) A recent controversy surrounding Twitch streamers Katie 'Kattpaccino' and Nick 'Nmplol' has been surfacing all over social media platforms. They have become the center of heated controversies after a serious allegation was made by Kattpaccino regarding the behavior of Nmplol during a live stream. Her remarks quickly escalated and led to backlash, reports to authorities, and defences from Nmplol's fellow creators. Here is the entire breakdown of what happened. Kattpaccino's controversial comments that led to social media backlash During one of Just Chatting streams of Kattpaccino, on June 27, 2025, she discussed the vibes she got from Nmplol. She suggested he might use his influence to pressure female streamers, and that she got negative weirdo vibes from him. She said, "He kind of gives off the... Hey, I have followers, kind of vibe and then... yeah we can stream together but also I'm gonna try to hit on you afterwards. Try to make you sleep with my NMP kind of vibe and then like if you say no I'm gonna force myself on you. That's just what I get.' — Awk20000 (@Awk20000) Nmplol responded strongly to her comments that spread online quite fast. His reaction was brief and pointed. He even expressed disbelief at the comments' nature, calling them to be outta pocket and absolutely crazy. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like 5 Books Warren Buffett Wants You to Read In 2025 Blinkist: Warren Buffett's Reading List Undo He stated that he reported the entire matter to the authorities. He even called Kattpaccino's remarks absolutely crazy. He further emphasized that such defaming accusations must not be taken lightly. Later on, the situation intensified when other streamers like Asmongold weighed in, supporting Nmplol. Asmongold and other Streamers come to Nmplol's defense The former OTK co-founder Asmongold supports Nmplol. He condemned Kattpaccino's comments during his stream. He argued that Twitch must ban Kattpaccino pre-emptively. His words read, 'To go out and call somebody like that a f**king r@pist? Get the f**k out of here. How does Twitch let that happen?" Another streamer, Deansocool, even defended Nmplol and mocked accusations made by Kattpaccino with complete sarcasm. He said, " I mean you give me false allegation like the type to cry don't feel good don't it?" The backlash against Kattpaccino started growing more, as creators and fans both began questioning the validity of her claims. Erobb221 involvement added fuel to the entire controversy Nmplol even called out some fellow streamers, including Erobb221, for collaborating with Kattpaccino. He questioned his judgment, and it led to further drama as Macaiyla started criticizing Nmplol for trying to target Erobb, her brother-in-law. This situation, as of yet, remains unresolved. Kattpaccino has not yet publicly responded to this entire backlash. With the Twitch streamer drama continuing, the debate about defamation in streaming and Twitch moderation policies remains at the forefront. Whether or not further actions will be taken—by legal authorities or Twitch, it remains to be seen. Game On Season 1 continues with Mirabai Chanu's inspiring story. Watch Episode 2 here.
