Love or scam? NEET UG 2025 topper features in multiple coaching centre ads; social media questions the rationale

A viral video has sparked a funny yet serious debate in the coaching world. Keshav Mittal, a 17-year-old from Punjab's Barnala, topped NEET UG 2025 with All India Rank 7 in his first try. Now, three big coaching centres, Allen, Motion and Narayana, are all claiming him as their student. Each institute shared congratulatory posts, proudly linking Keshav's success to their teaching. This has confused everyone and created a storm on social media. Memes and jokes are everywhere, with people asking how one student can belong to three rival institutes at once. 'It's love, not a scam. Coaching people for Keshav,' wrote the X (formerly Twitter) user who shared the viral video. 'Everyone has shared it on their own Instagram and Facebook. I've lost trust in all these institutes — when they're the ones doing scams, what will happen to the students?' reacted one user. One user clarified, 'This child was a regular classroom student in one coaching centre, and had joined the test series in another coaching centre.' 'It's also possible that Keshav's family might have taken money and sold the rank to the coaching institute for publicity,' alleged another user. One user wrote, 'Can't you even understand something as simple as this: students take tests from different coaching centres, sometimes they even take coaching from different places.' Keshav Mittal, a 17-year-old student from Tapa town in Punjab's Barnala district, has secured All-India Rank 7 in the NEET UG exam. He has scored 680 out of 720 marks. This was his first attempt at the national medical entrance test, and he is the highest scorer from Punjab this year. Keshav studied at DM Public Senior Secondary School in Karar Wala, Bathinda. He took coaching from a private institute in Chandigarh, according to HT. Keshav followed a daily study routine of 8 to 9 hours. The National Testing Agency (NTA), which conducts NEET every year, announced the results on June 14.

1 Topper, 3 Claims: Who Taught NEET AIR 7 Keshav Mittal? Video Sparks Coaching Centre Tug-Of-War

According to the viral clip, Keshav Mittal has been associated with Allen, Motion, and Narayana - three of the biggest names in the NEET coaching industry. A video doing the rounds on social media has sparked a curious controversy in the coaching world. The spotlight is on Keshav Mittal, the 17-year-old NEET UG 2025 topper from Punjab's Barnala district, who secured an impressive All India Rank 7 in his very first attempt. But the buzz isn't just about his result – it's about the battle brewing between three of the top coaching institutes, all claiming him as their student. According to the viral clip, Keshav has been associated with Allen, Motion, and Narayana – three of the biggest names in the NEET coaching industry. Not surprisingly, all three have proudly posted congratulatory messages and claimed Keshav's success as their own. But their overlapping claims have led to widespread confusion and sparked a flood of memes, jokes, and debates online. The confusion has turned into a full-blown digital drama. Social media users are openly questioning how three rival institutes can simultaneously claim the same student. One user sarcastically wrote, 'Koi toh sach bataye (someone please tell the truth)." स्कैम नहीं प्यार हैकोचिंग वालों का केशव के लिए — राजस्थानी ट्वीट (@8PMnoCM) June 19, 2025 A post from @8PMnoCM on X (previously Twitter) added fuel to the fire, sharing the viral video with the caption, saying, 'It's not a scam, it's the coaching people's love for Keshav", along with a snapshot of congratulatory banners from all three institutes. Amid the noise, Keshav's achievement is no small feat. With a score of 680 out of 720, he emerged as Punjab's highest NEET UG scorer and one of the nation's top 10 performers among over 22.7 lakh aspirants. The result of the fiercely competitive examination was declared on June 14. As the debate continues, one possible explanation has also surfaced. Some users claim that while Keshav was a regular classroom student at one coaching institute, he had enrolled in online test series or practice modules offered by the other two. This practice – common among students preparing for national-level competitive exams – has now raised questions about the ethical marketing practices of coaching giants, many of whom rush to associate themselves with high achievers for brand visibility. In the midst of conflicting claims, the truth may lie with Keshav himself. Netizens believe only he can clarify his primary coaching affiliation, and perhaps put an end to the growing trend of 'coaching credit wars". First Published:
