
‘Suraksha 360' app to boost security at temples, public places
Vijayawada: Home minister Vangalapudi Anitha and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) launched 'Suraksha 360' app on Saturday. The app, introduced by Vijayawada police commissionerate, is designed to improve security at temples and public places in NTR district.
The app supports CCTV surveillance, quick alerts, and easy communication between the police and public. It can also monitor large crowds during festivals and help in emergency response. Officials said the goal is to prevent crime and protect devotees at major temples like Kanaka Durga. More safety steps, including awareness programs and safety education, are also planned in the coming days.
Anitha said 'Suraksha 360' app is a key move to make Vijayawada a safer city besides supporting the development of Amaravati capital region. As part of the launch, 'divine safety kits' were distributed to 29 station house officers (SHOs) across the district. The kits are aimed at helping the police improve temple safety.
MLAs Bonda Uma, Gadde Rammohan, Sriram Rajagopal (Tatayya), Sujana Chowdary, Kolikapudi Srinivasa Rao, district collector Lakshmi Shah, and police commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu attended the program.

Andhra Pradesh Minister Anitha emphasises curbing crimes via invisible policing
VIJAYAWADA: Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said that policing in the state is moving forward effectively by adopting technology, adding that the ASTraM App, Shakti App, and widespread installation of CCTV cameras are helping to crack down on crimes and regulate traffic problems across the State. The home minister asserted that they were controlling crimes through invisible policing. On Saturday, the home minister inaugurated 'Suraksha 360' - a 100% CCTV surveillance covering the entire NTR district. The project aims to bring every town, village, ward, and hamlet under surveillance for public safety. The NTR District Commissionerate, under the leadership of Commissioner of Police (CP) SV Rajasekhara Babu, set up CCTV cameras across the district, covering 321 villages, 20 mandals, 4 municipalities, and 64 divisions of VMC. Addressing the occasion, Anitha highlighted the role of CCTV cameras in controlling and chasing down crimes, pointing to a reduced crime rate after their installation. During the event, Anitha asked the public to stay away from and be aware of online fraud. CP Rajasekhara Babu said that steps have been taken to install at least four CCTV cameras in every village of the district. He appreciated the donation of Rs 30 lakhs by Vijayawada West MLA Sujana Chowdary for the same. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) requested the NTR CP to arrange CCTV cameras at schools, colleges, and markets. The Suraksha devices will help keep safe and protect all religious places.

Smart and invisible policing helping police prevent crimes, says A.P. Home Minister
Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha said that 'smart and invisible policing' are helping the police to prevent crimes and provide more security to the public in the State during the launch of 'Suraksha 360' aimed at providing CCTV surveillance for the entire NTR Police Commissionerate, on Saturday. Speaking on the occasion, the Minister said that mobile phones can be used as weapons for protection, and urged women to use 'Sakthi App' for their safety. 'There is no scope for crimes in Andhra Pradesh. Government is taking all steps to prevent crime. Drones and CCTV are being used to check anti-social elements, particularly in VIP zones,' Ms. Anitha said. Vijayawada MP Kesineni Shivanath praised the NTR Commissionerate Police for launching Suraksha 360 which will help to check crimes in Amaravati region. The MP also had words of appreciation for MLA Sujana Chowdary, who installed ₹30 lakh worth of CCTVs in Vijayawada West Constituency. District Collector G. Lakshmisha said that NTR district will become a role model for taking initiatives that help create a peaceful atmosphere. He thanked the donors who helped to install CCTVs in the district. Mr. Sujana Chowdary, meanwhile, thanked the police for solving traffic problems at all major junctions by using 'Astram App'. He directed the police to take measures to provide safety at all schools and colleges. Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu said that CCTVs helped the police to detect crimes. Police have planned to install four surveillance cameras in each village. Steps are in place to enhance security at all temples, churches and masjids in the Commissionerate, he said. Later, the Home Minister, MP, MLA and other officers felicitated the donors of the CCTVs. MLAs Bonda Umamaheswara Rao, Gadde Rammohan Rao, Sriram Rajagopal and Kotikalapudi Srinivas and other police officers participated.
