Aldi's new £10 gadget 'so handy' for making notes is 'life hack'

Shoppers say they 'need' the new product that could help make daily chores easier to complete It's no secret that most of us love a life hack to make our routines a bit easier, and Aldi's latest Specialbuys range is designed to do just that. The supermarket has launched a new "Life Hacks range" ideal for shoppers who want a quick fix for common problems. The new range, available in stores from July 13, includes household items, such as a robotic vacuum cleaner and a smart kettle. Aldi said: "These ingenious gadgets offer clever shortcuts to aid everything from stress-free mornings to spotless homes, with prices starting at just £5.99. ‌ "Aldi's life hack heroes will be in stores from 13th July, but shoppers best be quick, as with all Specialbuys, once they're gone, they're gone!" Options include a Wooden Wireless Charging Clock and Pet Auto Waterer. ‌ There's also a £9.99 item that has delighted shoppers on social media: the Mini Thermal Printer. Aldi said the printer helps shoppers "print photos and notes on the go." As such, it could simplify various tasks, from making a checklist for your weekly chores to planning a shopping list. Alternatively, you could use the printer for quick photos, just like Aldi did in a post showcased on its Instagram. ‌ In a photo shared on social media by @aldispecialbuysuk, the printer is seen in action, printing black and white photos of the supermarket and Kevin the Carrot. The caption read: "Don't mind Admin being sentimental and printing a few of our fave pics. Who needs to grab one of these for their photo wall? Mini Thermal Printer £9.99 in store now!" The post received thousands of views and wowed shoppers who reacted in the comment section. One excited commenter wrote: "I feel this is very needed so us!!" ‌ A fan echoed: "NEED." @aldispecialbuysuk replied: "It's so handy." Someone else commented: "Love that Kevin is there!" Other commenters said they'd struggled to find the printer in their local store. One response read: "Hi these look great - are they available at all stores? Our local never heard of them!!" @aldispecialbuysuk said: "Our Specialbuys are stocked in all our UK stores, while stock lasts." ‌ A second said: "Tried to find in my local one and they hadn't arrived," but a later comment added: "My hubby managed to get the last one in other aldi today." As such, shoppers will likely need to be quick if they're keen to get their hands on the camera or other items in the range, including the £29.99 Smart Kettle and the £99.99 Robot Vacuum Cleaner. Describing the Smart Kettle, Aldi said:" With a sleek stainless-steel, matte black finish, app-control over both Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enables it to be switched on from the comfort of bed, while simple temperature control from 40 to 100 degrees Celsius means it is always just right. "Need a bit longer in bed? Just turn on the 'keep warm' function. Featuring an easy-to-use touch screen and simple temperature display, shoppers can enjoy peace of mind thanks to the automatic switch off safety feature."

Get your Pride month Kevin the Carrot, while stocks last

Please consider this a sort of public service announcement. I mention it because sadly, you may have been unaware of what a special month this is at the supermarket Aldi. You still have time to buy a 'Kevin the Carrot' toy from Aldi for £3.99. Kevin is on sale all year round, of course – but in June, for a limited period, you can buy him dressed in the rainbow Pride colours, to celebrate Pride month. You can also buy a rainbow Pride beach towel to show your support. Better still, a proportion of the profits raised by the gloriously aware fictitious carrot will be donated to the pro-trans charity Switchboard. While Aldi is to be commended in its support for Pride and Switchboard, it seems to me a shame that following the supreme court ruling Aldi did not take the opportunity to portray Kevin as a trans-vegetable, perhaps by stapling on to his carrot body the, say, interior leaves of a globe artichoke. But never mind. One can be too critical. This purulent rubbish is still going on.
