At the age of 66, many of us will be thinking of slowing down and even thinking of retiring from the workforce. For Khadijah, it is a new beginning as she moves into the business world. And fans will be behind wishing her the best of success in her new venture.

Myths About Religion Islam

Islam, which is one of the biggest religions worldwide, is usually cloaked in misconceptions and myths, among countries where people do not know much about the religion or where stereotyped knowledge prevails. Such myths may mislead the real perception of Islam and may lead to fear, distrust, or even animosity. A myth that exists is that Islam is a violent religion. Such notions are being fueled mainly by the activities of radical groups who in the name of Islam do contrary things. The fact is that Islam is a peaceful religion and the term of Islam in its turn is made up of the Arabic term salaam that means peace. The Quran repeatedly underlines the importance of human life and forbids strict punishment of murder and injustice. Umrah Package From Dubai For Family There is another common misconception about Islam that oppresses women. Some of those who oppose Islam do so because of the culture in some Muslim-dominant nations that limit the rights of women and another mistake is that such cultures are religious obligatories. Islam however offered the rights of education, inheritance, work and divorce to women more than 1,400 years ago, long before several societies did. Even the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him did foster the education and empowerment of women and himself his wife Khadijah was a successful businesswoman. Hijab is said to be a symbol of oppression but the truth is that most of the Muslim women cover up as a way of expressing their religion, modesty and identity and not as a way of being forced to do so. Another form of misunderstanding is that Muslims do not worship the same God. Actually, the Trio (Muslim, Christian and Jewish) believe in a single God, who is the God of Abraham; or in other words, a monotheistic God. God is referred to as Allah in Arabic Language and this is merely The God. According to the Islam faith, all the prophets namely Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad preached the same message of serving a single God and living a holy life. The misunderstanding is brought by the disparity of languages and interfaith communication. Islam recognizes the former scriptures and messengers, though the Muslims hold that the last word of the revelation was done by Prophet Muhammad in the Quran. Umrah Package By Bus For Family The other myth is that Islam promotes forced conversions. This is all not true and it opposes the teachings of the Quran. The Quran specifically provides the guideline that there is no compulsion in religion (2:256) meaning that one cannot be sure based on force but rather he must be sincerely convinced by the faith. In the past, when the Islamic civilizations spread, other religious communities were ruled by Muslims but were given the freedom to worship and were guided and governed by the law, like the Jews and Christians in Al-Andalus (Islamic Spain). On one hand, other religions or people are welcome to learn more about the beliefs of Islam and accept the message, but not by any violent approach. Others are of the view that Islam is antique and that it cannot be associated with modern values. This myth forgets that Islam as with all the other major religions runs on an ancient set of ideals like justice, compassion and integrity which remain true today. Islamic law (Shariah) is flexible and contains a mechanism of interpretation so that the scholars may be able to apply them to new situations. Muslim professionals contribute to science, medicine, education, and arts throughout the globe and, thus, it is evident that Islam does not only limit intellectual growth and advancement. Strawberry Moon Graces UAE Skies Tomorrow: Last Chance Until 2043

Eager to witness a rare Strawberry Moon – the last full Moon of Spring 2025 – which won't appear this low in the sky again until 2043? Your wait ends tomorrow, June 11, as it has been confirmed that the celestial treat will be visible in the UAE. 'The Strawberry Moon will be visible in the UAE, with moonrise at approximately 7.32pm on June 11 and moonset at 5.55am on June 12,' Khadijah Hasan Ahmed, operations manager at the Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG), told Gulf News on Tuesday. The Strawberry Moon will be visible across the UAE, she confirmed. 'And the best part is that you don't need any special equipment to see it.' Residents can simply step outside and look toward the eastern horizon shortly after moonrise, which is at 7.32pm, as the Strawberry Moon will be visible to the naked eye under clear skies. The best views are from open areas like beaches, deserts, or high spots, but it can still be seen from the city if you have a clear view of the eastern horizon, explained Khadijah. 'Of course, using binoculars or telescopes would definitely enhance the view.' She pointed out that it is 'a beautiful, easy-to-watch celestial event that connects us with the universe because the Strawberry Moon is the last full Moon of Spring and one of the most visually striking, often appearing larger and more golden when it rises.' Despite its name, however, the Strawberry Moon will not look pink or red. It is usually yellow or orange due to atmospheric conditions when it is low on the horizon. The twist about this Full Strawberry Moon that will grace the night sky on June 11 is that it is accompanied by the rare phenomenon of a Great Lunar Standstill, which happens every 18.6 years. 'In the Northern Hemisphere, it will be the lowest Full Moon until 2043, staying unusually close to the horizon. Conversely, in the Southern Hemisphere, it will be the highest Full Moon until 2043,' as explained on astronomy app Star Walk 2, said Khadijah. 'This rare positioning is due to the major lunar standstill, which is a cycle that only happens every 18.6 years. It's like the Moon's version of a solstice.' So, it will be the lowest Full Moon in 18.6 years for the Northern Hemisphere, rising and setting at its most extreme south-easterly and south-westerly points. Meanwhile, in the Southern Hemisphere, it is the opposite: they will see the highest Full Moon this month, and their lowest one will come in December, she explained. The Moon's orbit is tilted about 5.1° relative to the Earth's path around the Sun (the ecliptic), Khadijah pointed out. Because the Earth's axis is also tilted 23.4°, during a major standstill, these tilts combine, so the Moon can rise and set at its most extreme points on the horizon, farther north and farther south than usual. Hence, the Moon also appears higher or lower in the sky than normal.

Young sons' initiative leads to touching raya gift for mother

According to the woman, she had never asked for such a gift, but it came from the sincerity of her children's hearts. A 46-second video shared by Khadijah on her TikTok account @ijahahmad90 garnered over 455,000 views and 16,800 likes. SHAH ALAM – A woman from Tumpat, Kelantan, never expected that her two sons would use their duit raya to buy her a gold ring as a gift. The mother, Siti Khadijah Ahmad, 35, said that her sons, Muhammad Danish Irfan Tajuddin, 11, and Muhammad Danish Idlan, 7, expressed their desire to buy her a ring. According to the woman, who is fondly known as Ijah Ahmad, she had never asked for such a gift, but it came from the sincerity of her children's hearts. 'For a long time, my children have liked seeing me wear jewellery and they often ask about the price and the ornaments I have. 'This year, they said, 'Mama, we want to buy gold for Mama.' As a mother, I was deeply touched by their gesture,' she told Sinar on Saturday. Earlier, a 46-second video shared by Khadijah on her TikTok account @ijahahmad90 garnered over 455,000 views and 16,800 likes. Further elaborating, the bakery business owner shared that her two sons chose the ring, worth about RM950, themselves from a gold shop in the same district. 'When I wore the gold ring, my children were so happy and excited to see me wearing their gift,' she said. She added that she had previously bought gold bars as savings for their future and always strived to make them happy by buying toys and other necessities. Now, she said, her children were returning her love in their own special way. Commenting on the issue of faraid (Islamic inheritance law) raised by some netizens, Khadijah emphasised that it was not an issue since the ring was bought using her children's money for their future. 'Moreover, I just wanted to make my children happy and recorded a video when they bought the ring to keep as a memory. I didn't expect it to go viral on TikTok,' she said. More Like This
