Kid Cudi drops new single 'Grave' ahead of upcoming album 'Free'
Kid Cudi has dropped a new single titled Grave, the second track from his upcoming album Free, which is set for release on August 22nd via Republic Records. The song marks a shift in Cudi's musical direction, featuring a pop-infused sound with rock influences. The track has drawn comparisons to Imagine Dragons, reflecting the artist's evolving style. To accompany the release, Cudi also shared an official music video for Grave, directed by Samuel Bayer, an acclaimed director known for his work with bands such as Nirvana, The Rolling Stones, and Blind Melon. Earlier this year, Cudi introduced Free with its first single, Neverland, which was paired with a short film of the same name. The film was directed by Ti West and premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Cudi's 2024 achievements have solidified his legacy, with his hit Day 'N' Nite (Nightmare) earning RIAA diamond certification, making his debut album Man on the Moon: The End of Day the first 2000s hip-hop album to achieve multiple diamond singles. Last year, he released Insano, his ninth studio album, followed by the deluxe version Nitro Mega. As Cudi continues to explore new musical territories, fans await to see how this latest shift resonates with his audience. While some may question the blending of pop and rock elements, his loyal fanbase remains enthusiastic about his evolving sound.

Alex Warren finds it's 'weird' getting to duet with idols like Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey
Alex Warren found it "a little f****** strange" duetting with his idols Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey. In April, the Ordinary hitmaker got to perform his mega-hit backstage with Lana at Stagecoach 2025, while he and Sheeran duetted on the earworm at Ed's pop-up venue, The Old Phone Pub, at Coachella. He told Rolling Stone of the surreal duets: 'I was like, there's no f****** way I'm singing Ordinary with Lana Del Rey a week after singing it with Ed Sheeran. 'I think it's just weird, like these people know who I am, which is a little f****** strange, considering growing up these were people who helped me out a lot." Warren credits Jelly Roll - who features on his song Bloodline - for turning people on to his music. The musician said: "He introduced me at the time and goes, 'This is Alex. He has the biggest song in the world.' And at the time, it wasn't the biggest song in the world. I think he put that into the air.' February's Ordinary spent 11 consecutive weeks at No.1 on the UK chart, marking the longest running No.1 in the UK by a US male solo act in more than 70 years and the joint longest running No.1 of the 2020s, tied with Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits. Warren's album You'll Be Alright, Kid is released on July 18. The collection features all of the tracks from the 24-year-old star's debut LP You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) alongside newbies such as smash hit Ordinary and Bloodline with Jelly Roll. You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) focused on "dealing with grief", while You'll Be Alright, Kid "turns the page with healing, resilience and optimism."

If you love Glasgow, Lana, maybe you could do more than 14 songs?
A bit cruel? Not if you were at Elizabeth Grant's (her real name) p*** poor excuse for a performance this week at Hampden in Glasgow. In fact, the soulful singer who sells stylised works of sadness should consider a new career as a sheep shearer in the Aussie outback - because she's proved terrific at fleecing. Read More: Her loyal Scots fans paid upwards of £120 to see a performance of just 14 songs during her set. To compound the injustice, of those 14 songs, three were unreleased and two were covers. Del Rey also used a hologram to showcase pre-recorded versions of others. What this all means is that young fans, many of whom most likely earn minimum wage, had to work for over an hour to pay to hear a single live song. And Del Rey, her promoters and management should be holding their heads in shame. But how can Lana justifiably offer so little to so many? Especially when you consider many of our ageing rock gods perform like every concert is their last, (and perhaps could be). Elton, at 78, may need mechanical assistance to get around the stage but you can't get him off it. Rod, at 80, was mumping his gums last week at Glastonbury about not being allowed to play longer. Meanwhile, Bruce Almighty, the Boss, is still on his feet longer than a Glasgow bus conductress doing overtime in the Sixties. So, if the likes of Sweet Baby James Taylor can regularly offer up three hours, as does Beyoncé and Taylor Swift, why can't Del Rey stretch her set a little? It's not that she doesn't have the material, with four solid albums behind her. Yes, there are precedents for offering up audiences a short set. I once saw the Pretenders in the late Seventies and Chrissie and co could only offer up the student audience around 10 songs. But Hynde at least apologised, saying at the end that the band simply hadn't written any more. However, on weighing up the mood of the disappointed throng the band then proceeded to re-play Brass in Pocket, Stop Your Sobbing and Kid - again. Yes, Stevie Wonder had a habit of turning out just a dozen songs. And Sinatra too. And Al Green seemed happier talking about Jesus than he did singing the likes of How Can You Mend a Broken Heart. But you could argue that these icons had perhaps earned the right to take it a little easier on stage. Chuck Berry too played for no more than an hour, although that his paucity of material was entirely down to being a mean-spirited, cash-mad, ungrateful – and often nasty – piece of work. However, at least he could duck-walk across the stage while licking the backside out of Johnny B. Goode. And as far as I know, that's not yet part of Lana Del Rey's skill set. And even the grumpiest of grumps, Van Morrison, a man who struggles to hide his contempt for the paying customer, manages to play for 90 minutes before his alarm clock goes off and he too is off to another pay cheque. That's not to say everyone wants to see a longer (great value for money) pop concert. And some in the industry will support Del Rey's decision to keep her show lean and assume the audience remain keen. Billie Eilish for one. When asked if she would ever perform a three-hour-long show — similar to those performed by Taylor Swift and Beyonce, Eilish rolled her eyes and replied; 'I'm not doing a three-hour show, that's literally psychotic.' Now, we can't be entirely sure if the performer entirely understands how psychosis manifests, but perhaps Del Rey would concur with the sentiment. Yet, that wouldn't make her right. Modern living is fraught, it's especially challenging, and music offers a transfusion right into the soul, if played well enough and for long enough. To not realise this is to dismiss a fanbase, those who are rightfully needy, captivated, captured in a hall or a stadium, and all too ready to contribute to the creation of emotional contagion. It has been 13 years since Del Rey announced herself to the world with Video Games, but her recent short set suggests she hasn't learned too much in that time. What she needs to appreciate is that audiences deserve so much more. Once, in an interview, when asked if she had a permanent home she said: "I don't have one - but when I have any time I go to Glasgow, that's where I'm happiest.' Which is a lovely thing to say. But why not reflect that sentiment in the effort spent on stage in her fave city? Here's a thought Lana. If you love Glasgow so much, come back and do a free concert. Reveal a little mea culpa. And take a lead from Bruce and Elton and Taylor and Beyonce and sing 'till your throat hurts.

Alex Warren continues chart momentum as Rosé duet gains radio traction
Alex Warren's single Ordinary remains at the top of the Billboard Hot 100 for a fourth consecutive week, supported by strong streaming numbers and widespread radio play. In parallel, his latest release On My Mind, a collaboration with BLACKPINK's Rosé, is beginning to chart its own course. The track, released on June 27, has been named the most-added song at Hot Adult Contemporary radio for the week, with 33 US stations adding it to their playlists, according to Mediabase. It is also scheduled to impact pop radio formats beginning July 1. On My Mind features acoustic instrumentation and dual vocals from Warren and Rosé, and serves as the third single from Warren's upcoming debut album, You'll Be Alright, Kid, which is slated for release on July 18. Warren gained attention earlier this year when Ordinary became his breakout hit. The track topped several major charts globally, including the Billboard Global 200 and UK Singles Chart, and has since received platinum certification. The new duet marks a continued expansion of his musical collaborations and genre reach. As both songs gain traction, Warren's upcoming album is expected to draw further interest upon its release.
