Alex Warren finds it's 'weird' getting to duet with idols like Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey

Alex Warren found it "a little f****** strange" duetting with his idols Ed Sheeran and Lana Del Rey.
In April, the Ordinary hitmaker got to perform his mega-hit backstage with Lana at Stagecoach 2025, while he and Sheeran duetted on the earworm at Ed's pop-up venue, The Old Phone Pub, at Coachella.
He told Rolling Stone of the surreal duets: 'I was like, there's no f****** way I'm singing Ordinary with Lana Del Rey a week after singing it with Ed Sheeran.
'I think it's just weird, like these people know who I am, which is a little f****** strange, considering growing up these were people who helped me out a lot."
Warren credits Jelly Roll - who features on his song Bloodline - for turning people on to his music.
The musician said: "He introduced me at the time and goes, 'This is Alex. He has the biggest song in the world.' And at the time, it wasn't the biggest song in the world. I think he put that into the air.'
February's Ordinary spent 11 consecutive weeks at No.1 on the UK chart, marking the longest running No.1 in the UK by a US male solo act in more than 70 years and the joint longest running No.1 of the 2020s, tied with Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits.
Warren's album You'll Be Alright, Kid is released on July 18.
The collection features all of the tracks from the 24-year-old star's debut LP You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) alongside newbies such as smash hit Ordinary and Bloodline with Jelly Roll.
You'll Be Alright, Kid (Chapter 1) focused on "dealing with grief", while You'll Be Alright, Kid "turns the page with healing, resilience and optimism."

Lorde almost quit the music business in 2023

Lorde felt "disconnected from [her] creativity" at the start of 2023. The 28-year-old star has revealed that she actually considered quitting the music business altogether two years ago, admitting that she was "not in a great way" at the time. Speaking to BBC Radio 1's Jack Saunders, she explained: "At the beginning of 2023 I was not in a great way on a lot of levels. "I'd never felt more disconnected from my creativity." Lorde admits that an eating disorder took over her life at the time, and that it stunted her musical creativity. The Royals hitmaker shared: "All I was thinking about was trying to weigh as little as possible. "Going to sleep thinking about food, waking up thinking about food and exercise - that was my creative pursuit." Lorde's new album, Virgin, is the most personal record of her career. The singer admits that she needed to be "brave" in order to be more vulnerable in her music. Speaking about her writing process, she said: "It was hard, it was scary. Some songs aren't easy. "I made a lot of changes and really put my artistry front and centre and made that my full-time job and I got a lot of stuff out of the way." Meanwhile, Lorde recently admitted that "a lot of people" won't think she's a "good girl anymore" after listening to Virgin. The singer - whose real name is Ella Yelich-O'Connor - believes her latest record will see her lose and gain fans as she explores a range of sensitive issues, including her relationship with her mother, gender identity, and the ending of a long-term romance. Speaking to Rolling Stone magazine, Lorde explained: "There's going to be a lot of people who don't think I'm a good girl anymore, a good woman. It's over." On the other hand, Lorde also expected that new fans would embrace her following the album release. The chart-topping star - who released her debut album, Pure Heroine, back in 2013 - said: "It will be over for a lot of people, and then for some people, I will have arrived. I'll be where they always hoped I'd be."

Ed Sheeran painted in a disused London car park

Ed Sheeran turned to painting as a "creative outlet" and set up a makeshift workshop in a disused car park in central London. The 34-year-old pop star has revealed he has been making art during his downtime whenever he's on a break from touring and he's now preparing to exhibit his first collection, which will be sold in aid of his Ed Sheeran Foundation charity. In a statement, Ed explained: "I started painting at the end of my Divide Tour in 2019 and it's something that I've used as a creative outlet ever since. "When I was growing up, both of my parents worked in art, so I've naturally always been interested in it, and I always enjoyed studying art at school. "I was back and forth on tour last year, and I used a lot of my downtime in the UK to paint. I'd run to a disused car park in Soho each morning, paint and then run home and I'd do that daily until I headed back out on tour again." The singer went on to reveal he was encouraged to show his first collection by artist Damien Hirst. He added: "I told my good friends Damien Hirst and Joe Hage about the paintings and they encouraged me to do my own thing. "So I decided to use it as a way of raising funds for my Ed Sheeran Foundation which supports music education in the UK and helps fund grassroots music projects, schools and equipment, so all kids have access to music. "I want to thank Damien and Joe for everything they've done for me on this exhibition and I'm delighted to be putting it on." Ed's collection is called the Cosmic Carpark Paintings and they will be on display at the HENI Gallery in London from July 11 until August 1. Fifty per cent of the proceeds from sales of the artworks will go to Ed charity while £300 from each print sale will be donated. A message posted on the HENI website explained: "HENI is delighted to present Ed Sheeran's Cosmic Carpark Paintings, an exhibition featuring original works on canvas alongside a series of prints ... "The Cosmic Carpark Paintings release offers the public a first opportunity to collect original artworks and edition prints by Ed Sheeran, which are being sold to raise funds for the Ed Sheeran Foundation, a UK-wide initiative aimed at providing inclusive, high-quality music education for every child. "The original paintings will be available by application on HENI Primary and the unique prints will be available to purchase on HENI Editions between 10 July and 1 August 2025 ... "Ed Sheeran's share of the proceeds of sale of each painting (i.e. 50 per cent of the net sales price) and each print ($400 USD) is being donated to The Ed Sheeran Foundation ... "
