Man (60s) dies while working on Kilkenny road
A man in his 60s has died while working on a regional road outside Kilkenny city on Tuesday morning. The incident happened at about 11am on the Kennyswell Road. Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene, where the man was pronounced dead. The scene is preserved for technical examination and the Health and Safety Authority (HSA) is investigating.

Man (60s) dies in road traffic accident while working on roadworks in Kilkenny
A man in his 60s was killed in a road traffic accident in Kilkenny City on Tuesday morning. The deceased is understood to have been a member of staff on the roadworks currently underway on the R695 at the Kennyswell road in the city when the incident occurred, shortly before 11am. Advertisement Gardaí and emergency services are attending the site, and the road remains closed at present. The man was pronounced dead at the scene. In a statement, gardaí said that both they and emergency services 'are currently at the scene of a road traffic collision that occurred in the Kennyswell Road area of Kilkenny. 'The scene remains preserved for technical examination. The Health and Safety Authority (HSA) was notified and is investigating the matter."
