David Beckham in hospital after suffering painful injury as Victoria is by his bedside

Sir David Beckham shared a selfie from a hospital bed after suffering the painful injury. Sir David Beckham has been pictured in hospital with his arm in a sling as his wife gave fans an update. Lady Victoria shared the snap on Instagram and penned: "Get well soon, Daddy," alongside a snap of the footballing icon smiling while wearing a hospital gown. She also gave him a friendship bracelet made with white beads to form 'Get Well Soon'. It is unknown what happened to the former England star, writes The Mirror. David's hospital dash comes amid a family feud with eldest son Brooklyn Beckham and his wife, Nicola Peltz. Brooklyn, 26, and Nicola, 30, have made headlines in recent weeks over speculation of a 'feud' with his family, including his parents David, 50, and Victoria, 51. ‌ Brooklyn hasn't publicly acknowledged his father for his recent Knighthood award or on Father's Day but has continued to praise wife Nicola in his posts. ‌ Last night, he expressed his love for Nicola, whom he tagged, Brooklyn teased in the caption that she's his world. He wrote "my" alongside an emoji depicting the globe. Beside a heart emoji, he also commented over the photo: "My absolute angel." A few hours later, he then went on to wish David's mother Sandra a happy birthday. He marked his grandmother's birthday with a post that included a photo of him beside her. Brooklyn wrote: "Happy birthday nanny xx love you so much." It is thought to have marked him reaching out for the first time to his family on social media. Meanwhile, David shared a gushing post of his own to celebrate his mother's birthday. He even made a nod to Brooklyn in the post and he refused to give into the recent slew of social media digs and snubs from his son. The caption of the sweet post also mentioned Brooklyn, despite the alleged fall out. ‌ David captioned the tribute post: "Happy birthday mum we love you so much I hope u have the best day Thank you for always being there for us all Love you x @sandra_beckham49 @lynnebeckhambriggs1972 @jo_jo_beckham_ @victoriabeckham @brooklynpeltzbeckham @romeobeckham @cruzbeckham #HarperSeven." Brooklyn and Nicola have snubbed many family events in recent months including, turning out to celebrate Victoria's 51st birthday or David's milestone 50th birthday celebrations in Paris and London. ‌ They also remained silent since the news that the former England player has finally been awarded his long-sought-after knighthood. However, the budding chef made sure to wish Nicola's father, Nelson, a happy birthday in a sweet post shared on his Instagram earlier this week. "Happy birthday, Nelson, we love you," he simply wrote.

The Who's Roger Daltrey Knighted, Finally. A Personal Congratulations

The great Who frontman Roger Daltrey awarded Knighthood. Courtesy Teenage Cancer Trust The great Who front-man/singer Roger Daltrey penned a memoir in 2018 called, "Thanks A Lot, Mr. Kibblewhite." The title refers to a middle school teacher in England who expelled Daltrey over a prank, berating him as someone who would never go anywhere in life. Daltrey says that gesture help straighten him out, and pushed him through life to prove Kibblewhite wrong. Well, Mr. Kibblewhite, Daltrey has just been awarded Knighthood by the Queen, one of the highest honors that the British Royal Family can bestow. I wonder what Kibblewhite would say to that if he were still alive? I've known Roger for quite awhile. In 2016, I helped him with a delicate charity situation concerning Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, perhaps the top hospital of its kind in the world. Afterwards, we got to know each other. I've always been impressed by Roger's humility, grace and self-deprecation, despite his many accomplishments in music. They don't need listing here - everyone is aware of them. The Who, for example, is one of the three major sixties British Invasion bands, the other two being The Beatles and The Rolling Stones, that helped pave the way for other British rock acts to break into America. Roger Daltrey (right) and Pete Townshend of The Who at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York, NY, celebrating the opening of a teen cancer facility there, March 2016. Stacey Severn But what many don't know is that Roger has tirelessly and quietly worked, for decades, with band-mate Pete Townshend helping teens with cancer, both with Teen Cancer America in the U.S., and Teenage Cancer Trust in Great Britain. Both organizations have grown into major world charities dedicated to helping teens stricken with cancer (links below) since he helped found them. As Roger once told me, children have specialized cancer programs, as do adults, but teens are often lumped into one of the two groups. It's not fair, he says, as teens are especially vulnerable at the transitional, awkward stage between childhood and adulthood, and therefore need special treatment, both physically (teen cancers tend to be more aggressive) and psychologically (think Alice Cooper's 'I'm Eighteen'). Roger is loyal, as well. He never forgot that simple Memorial Sloan gesture, and, over the years has offered me passes to concerts at major venues like New York's Madison Square Garden to see The Who and catch up with him backstage. A few years ago, he recorded a special video as a favor congratulating Farmington Woods Elementary School on its 20 years of International Baccalaureate status. And, most recently, he wrote an amusing cover quote for my classic rock book, "Amplified," which also includes an interview with him. The Who's Roger Daltrey (right) and Forbes writer Jim Clash backstage at Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, September 1, 1999. Michael JP Oakes As to Knighthood, he once joked with me about it. "I don't care about things like that, Jim. I've been too political to ever attain that type of position. I'm a human being, and none of us is perfect." Such a class act. Anyhow, Mr. Daltrey, a very heartfelt congratulations on a title well-deserved - and long overdue - and thank you from all the music fans and sick teens you've inspired and helped over the years. And, as you say, "Be lucky." (Oh, and to Mr. Kibblewhite, thanks.)

Any member of the public or an official body can nominate someone for an honour. UK nationals and citizens of 15 Commonwealth 'realms', of which the King is head of state, are eligible for nomination. People living or working overseas, whose achievements were made in another country or in the UK and have a significant international element, can be nominated too. Nominations are submitted to the Cabinet Office's Honours and Appointments Secretariat, which oversees the honours system. A group of 10 independent honours committees, each covering a specialist subject area such as sport or health, consider nominations. King Charles ultimately decides who is recognised in the Birthday Honours list (Image: Temilade Adelaja/PA Wire) The recommendations of these groups of independent experts and senior civil servants are passed on to the Prime Minister and, ultimately, the King for approval. There are two sets of honours per year, at New Year and in June on the King's official birthday. Once all recipients have been decided and checked, the Central Chancery of the Orders of Knighthood at St James's Palace arranges investitures for the presentation of medals. These ceremonies, held about 30 times a year at Buckingham Palace, Windsor Castle and, occasionally, the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh, and are hosted by senior royals. The most senior ranks of the Order of the British Empire are Knight or Dame Grand Cross (GBE) and Knight or Dame Commander (KBE or DBE). Recommended reading: The order's ranks, after Knighthood or Damehood, are Commander (CBE), Officer (OBE) and Member (MBE). Other honours include Companion of Honour (CH), British Empire Medal (BEM), Royal Victorian Order (RVO), Order of the Bath and Order of St Michael and St George. There is also Royal Red Cross (RRC), King's Police Medal (KPM), King's Fire Service Medal (KFSM) and King's Ambulance Service Medal (KAM).
