Elite WR commit Kohen Brown shuts down recruitment, sticking with Texas

Texas has been red hot on the recruiting trail over the last few weeks. Last weekend, they got a pledge from four-star wide receiver Kohen Brown. However, in this day and age of college football, the recruiting process continues until a player officially signs. A few days after his commitment, Brown canceled official visits to Notre Dame and Ole Miss. On Saturday, Brown let it be known that he isn't taking any more visits as he has shut down his recruitment and will remain with Texas. Advertisement Brown was once committed to USC. However, after he decommitted in May, Texas made him an offer six days later. In less than a month he took an official visit to Austin and that's all it took to get his commitment. Texas is having quite the weekend on the recruiting trial. They landed four-star defensive lineman Dylan Berymon late Saturday night. On Sunday, they landed another four-star prospect on wide receiver Kohen Brown out of Waxahachie, Texas. Brown is the 11th commitment for the Longhorns for their 2026 class. After having the top-ranked in , Texas has some work to do to hit that level in 2026. That class is currently ranked 20th overall. Advertisement The 6-foot, 190-pounder is the No. 244 recruit nationally and the No. 32 wide receiver according to Rivals. They also have deemed him the No. E4 prospect in the state of Texas. Brown had a breakout campaign in 2024. He registered 1,084 yards on 54 receptions and scored 11 touchdowns. Brown gained 138 yards rushing as well and put up two more scores. Notre Dame 2026 WR target Kohen Brown commits to the Texas Longhorns

Notre Dame 2026 WR target Kohen Brown commits to the Texas Longhorns It looked like Notre Dame football was going to make a run at former USC wide receiver commit Kohen Brown, but that took a big turn on Sunday evening. The 6-foot and 190-pound prospect had scheduled an official visit to see South Bend next weekend, but that might not happen as Brown committed to the in-state Texas Longhorns. He took an official visit there this weekend, and that trip sealed the deal for him. While its unfortunate that Notre Dame is most likely no longer part of his plans, Brown has yet to say that he won't make the visit, there are still more than a few high-level wide receivers they are after. Another Texan in Brayden Robinson is set to commit on June 20th, when he is scheduled on his official visit to see the Irish. Florida's Brian Williams is also an option, as his official will start on June 19th, and Notre Dame will host Devin Fitzgerald, Larry's son, on June 13th. The Irish have options to add another wide receiver in 2026, and currently have Bubba Frazier and Dylan Faison committed at the position.
