Iskandar Puteri police dispose of case items worth RM281,350
ISKANDAR PUTERI: Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters (IPD) today disposed of various exhibits for cases spanning from 2017 to May this year, with a total value of RM281,350. Its chief, ACP M. Kumarasan said the case items were linked to 567 investigation papers that had been completed and received disposal orders from the court. He said of the total, 319 investigation papers were related to gambling, amounting to RM94,380.00, which made up the highest-value items disposed of. 'Next were general goods (226 investigation papers) with a total value of RM31,028.00; contraband (15 investigation papers) amounting to RM71,242.00, comprising various types of cigarettes and alcoholic beverages; and lastly, seven investigation papers related to bitcoin mining, with exhibits worth RM84,700.00,' he said in a press conference at the Iskandar Puteri IPD today. Also present at the event were Iskandar Puteri deputy police chief Superintendent Mohd Azlan Abdul Kadir, and Johor deputy public prosecutors Muhammad Nursyafiq Abd Halim and Sarah Siti Aisyah Mustapha Kamal. Kumarasan added that the disposal was part of continuous efforts by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) to ensure proper and systematic management of case items according to procedures. He also reminded the public not to get involved in any criminal activities such as illegal gambling, smuggling of untaxed goods, and electricity theft for bitcoin mining, as these are serious offences under the law.

Police Rule Out Loan Shark Involvement In Teacher's Death
ISKANDAR PUTERI, June 25 (Bernama) -- The death of a female teacher, Lo Kwan Fong, whose body was found at her home in Bandar Selesa Jaya, Skudai, Iskandar Puteri, on June 13, is believed to have no criminal elements involving illegal moneylending syndicates or loan sharks. Iskandar Puteri police chief ACP M. Kumarasan said although the 39-year-old victim had previously borrowed RM20,000 from a loan shark, she had fully settled the debt. He said preliminary police investigations also found that there were no incidents of paint splashing or threats against the victim. 'The deceased had previously lodged a police report, which was investigated under Section 5(2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951. However, after clearing all her debts, there were no further police reports. 'Neighbours also confirmed that no loan sharks had come to throw paint at her house,' he told a press conference at the Iskandar Puteri district police headquarters today. He said the police had checked with the National Registration Department (JPN) and confirmed that she was an only child and her parents had already passed away. To date, her remains have yet to be claimed by her next of kin. 'We will discuss this further with the hospital. After two weeks, the body will be released to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) for them to appoint a private funeral service. 'We were informed that she has an aunt in Singapore, but we still do not have further information about her. Several parents of her students have expressed their wish to help with the funeral,' he said.

Death of teacher Kwan Fong is unrelated to loan sharks

Iskandar Puteri district police chief Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan, stated that the deceased, Lo Kwan Fong, 39, had previously borrowed RM20,000 from loan sharks but had settled the debt. According to him, initial investigations revealed no incidents of paint splashing or threats directed at the victim. "The deceased had filed a police report, which was investigated under Section 5(2) of the Moneylenders Act 1951. "However, after settling her debt, no further police reports were made. "Her neighbours reported that no loan sharks came to splash paint on her house. The deceased also did not lodge any police reports after her debts were cleared," he said. He made these remarks during a press conference at the Iskandar Puteri District Police Headquarters on Wednesday. According to Kumarasan, the body of Kwan Fong has yet to be claimed by her family. He clarified that police checks with the National Registration Department (JPN) confirmed that the deceased was an only child and that both her parents had passed away. "The police will consult the hospital again. After two weeks, the body will be handed over to Sultanah Aminah Hospital (HSA) to appoint a private funeral company. "According to neighbours, the deceased was a good teacher but not socially active in the community. "When found by the police, the victim's body was seated in the bathroom of her locked house,' he said. He also said that some parents of the deceased's students expressed willingness to assist with the funeral arrangements. On June 16, media reported that a female teacher was found dead in her home after neighbors noticed a foul smell from the house and filed a report at the Nusa Bestari Police Station at 8pm. Investigations revealed that the woman, who lived alone, was believed to have been dead for about a month. The woman was an only child and her parents had passed away several years ago. An autopsy conducted by a forensic specialist from HSA concluded that the cause of death could not be determined due to advanced decomposition.

80-Year-Old Man Spotted Riding Motorcycle Against Traffic On Johor Highway

A lorry driver spotted the elderly man at a main highway in Johor. He recorded part of the incident and posted it on his Tiktok account. Worried for the man's safety, the lorry driver can be heard shouting and honking to alert him that he was riding on the wrong side of the road. However, the man didn't seem to notice and continued riding. What made the situation even more concerning was that he wasn't wearing a helmet. Looking into the comments section, many netizens expressed concern for his safety. Some also alleged that the elderly man might be suffering from hearing and memory problems. As the video spread across social media, the police has been alerted and began investigating. According to Iskandar Puteri District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner M Kumarasan, they were informed that the man, aged 80, was riding a blue Yamaha Lagenda against traffic for 700 metres heading north at Kilometre 24 of the Malaysia–Singapore Second Link Expressway (Linkedua). 'We successfully located him and brought him to the Iskandar Puteri District Investigation and Enforcement Division (BSPT) to assist in the investigation,' he said in a media statement. Kumarasan stated that the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987, which relates to driving recklessly and dangerously to the extent of endangering other road users. Man who rode motorcycle against traffic in Johor is believed to have Alzheimer's
ISKANDAR PUTERI: Police have located an 80-year-old man, believed to be suffering from Alzheimer's disease, who was seen riding a motorcycle against traffic without wearing a helmet. Iskandar Puteri OCPD Asst Comm M. Kumarasan said the man was spotted along KM24 of the Second Link Expressway at around 10.30am on Tuesday (June 17). 'He rode against the flow of traffic for approximately 700m in a dangerous manner and without wearing a helmet. 'He was later brought to the Iskandar Puteri district traffic investigation and enforcement division,' he said in a statement on Wednesday (June 18). ACP Kumarasan added that the man's family had been contacted, and the case is being investigated under Section 42(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. He said the authorities were waiting for a medical report to confirm the man's condition before deciding on further action. He also urged anyone with information on the incident to contact the Iskandar Puteri police hotline at 07-5101322. Earlier, a 12-second video clip of the incident went viral, showing the man riding against traffic.
