The reported fee Celtic will earn from Lagerbielke sale

The Swede joined the Parkhead club in the summer of 2023 but made just 10 appearances in his first year in Glasgow. Lagerbielke spent the recent 2024/25 campaign on loan at FC Twente in the Dutch Eredivisie, making a notable impression across his 32 appearances in all competitions. Despite returning to Celtic over the summer, the 25-year-old looks set to permanently depart the club for Braga. Read more: Sportbladet reported yesterday that a medical is planned for the player this week as he closes in on a move. Sky Sports reporter Anthony Joseph now claims that Celtic could earn £2m from the sale, recouping two-thirds of the £3m they paid for Lagerbielke two years ago. UPDATE: Braga are close to agreeing a deal worth £2m for Celtic centre-back Gustaf Lagerbielke. It's understood the Sweden international is keen to join #SCBraga, who hope to him travel over for a medical later this week.#CelticFC — Anthony Joseph (@AnthonyRJoseph) July 2, 2025 The defender could follow Greg Taylor out the departure door. He recently left Celtic on a free transfer for PAOK, a switch he recently lifted the lid on: "It's probably the toughest decision I have had in my career," Taylor told Sky Sports. "When I left Kilmarnock in 2019 it was that bit easier, I was progressing and I wanted to go and play for the biggest team in Scotland. "At that time, there probably wasn't many who believed I would play as many games as I did, but the one person who really did was myself. I was lucky to go and play 200 plus games for Celtic which was unbelievable. "So, it wasn't easy - there was a million things to weigh up - but I just felt it was the right time to do it. I wanted to play regularly, and that is probably the big factor."

He says that Braga have sent a €2million (£1.7m) proposal, that negotiations are continuing and Lagerbielke wants to move. The loan deal at Twente does not include an option to buy and, as he came towards the end of stay in Enschede, he posted an emotional farewell on his social media. Lagerbielke said on Instagram, 'Tukkers, from the first day arriving in Enschede, I felt at home. 'Every day I drove to the training ground in Hengelo, I felt excitement. 'Every day I was around the team and the staff, I felt joy. Every day I put on the Twente shirt, I felt proud. 'Every day I played in front of you supporters, I felt honoured. 'And today I feel grateful. Grateful for all of you and for letting me be a part of your family. 'Bedankt [Thanks].' Lagerbielke made just 10 appearances for Celtic since joining from Swedish side Elfsborg in 2023 in a deal worth £3million. Ex-Celtic coach Eric Black on the Cup exit that rocked Scottish football plus life with Lubo and Dr Jo He's found himself down the pecking order behind Cameron Carter-Vickers, Auston Trusty and Liam Scales. Lagerbielke has three years left on his current deal at Celtic and told a media outlet in his home country in March that he was focusing on his football. He told: Fotbollskanalen: "I've learned now from being abroad. You don't have much to say about everything. "I just focus on the next match, even if it sounds cliché. "Then the negotiators have to solve it. If I get something to say about, I'll give my opinion on it later, says Lagerbielke. "There are great forces at play, so I have to focus on football." Twente are also keen to bring back Robin Propper from Rangers. It remains to be seen whether the Dutchman still has a future at the club under new boss Russell Martin.
