Two women caught in Bengaluru with cocaine worth Rs 14.69 crore in soap boxes
The Directorate of Revenue Intelligence (DRI) on Monday seized seven kilograms of cocaine worth Rs 14.69 crore, hidden in soap women, identified as Laljamluvai from Manipur and Lalthangliani from Mizoram, were arrested near Cottonpet in connection with the case.A preliminary probe revealed that the operation was part of a high-level interstate smuggling racket.
The seizure comes just days after the DRI intercepted an Indian male passenger at Bengaluru International Airport with over four kilograms of cocaine worth Rs 40 crore, the Union Finance Ministry said in a investigation revealed that the passenger had carefully concealed the white powder in magazine covers, according to the another related incident, the DRI intercepted a 33-year-old passenger who had arrived in Bengaluru from Dubai on March 3, carrying foreign-origin gold bars weighing 14.2 kilograms and valued at Rs 12.56 crore.- Ends
