'Law & Order' star Christopher Meloni says he's 'f---ing trying' to get Stabler and Benson to hook up
Hargitay has also said she's into the idea, but she doesn't think it should happen just yet. As much as Law & Order audiences want to see Christopher Meloni's Elliot Stabler and Mariska Hargitay's Olivia Benson get together, Meloni might want it more. After a fan on X suggested Monday that, "for f--- sake, kiss her already," he replied, "I'm f---ing trying." There has long been a will-they-won't-they vibe between the two characters in the beloved franchise. They two were partners for more than a decade on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and while Benson has stayed put, Stabler has moved to Law & Order: Organized Crime. However, they still communicate via appearances in one another's departments. They've come very close to becoming a couple, but they haven't actually gone there. Not only Meloni but Hargitay, too, is hoping for that. But she just doesn't want it to happen just yet. "Maybe on the last episode," she said in June on the Call Her Daddy podcast. "I think that's when they should be together... if it's right. We'll see when we get there." The law enforcement officers are "soulmates, in a way," Hargitay said, adding, "But let's see where the story takes us, you know?" Meloni himself has addressed a moment when the two nearly kissed in a season 24 episode of SVU that Stabler appeared on. That time, it was Benson who pulled away."We were attempting something," he said in April during a TVLine Spotlight conversation. "I don't think it worked. But I'm not going to tell you why it didn't work, because you all have your opinion," Meloni said, before adding, "I know what transpired." In May 2024, Hargitay dished that the kiss was initially supposed to happen. "To be honest with you, Chris and I thought it should go one way and the powers that be didn't, so it got changed at the last minute, that near kiss," Hargitay said in a May 2024 interview with Variety. "Obviously [creator] Dick [Wolf] gets final say. It's his show and he didn't want that." While Meloni's Law & Order: Organized Crime wrapped up its fifth season last month, there will be plenty more Benson — and maybe some Stabler references or even encounters? — when L&O: SVU returns for its 27th season Sept. 25 on NBC. 'The Voice,' 'SNL' get fall premiere dates on NBC

The network announced Monday that reality singing competition series The Voice will return for Season 28 on Sept. 22. Reba McEntire will return to coach competitors for the fourth time, after a break in Season 27. Niall Horan, who coached Seasons 23 and 24, and Snoop Dogg, who debuted as a coach in Season 26, are also returning. Michael Buble will also return. The drama series Brilliant Minds, starring Zachary Quinto, will premiere its second season immediately after The Voice. The Law & Order revival starring Reid Scott, Mehcad Brooks and Maura Tierney returns Sept. 25, while Saturday Night Live will premiere its 51st season Oct. 4. Season 50 wrapped up with guest host Scarlett Johansson in May. From Love Island to live sports, streaming on Peacock is getting a bit more expensive
Starting tomorrow, it's going to cost a few bucks more each month to stream Law & Order, The Office and yes, even Love Island. Peacock, NBC's streaming platform, is raising their prices for both monthly and annual plans. The price increase will go into effect officially on Wednesday, July 23. Here's a breakdown of the price increase, as well as everything you need to know about Peacock: How much will Peacock cost under the new pricing? The monthly ad-supported Peacock Premium subscription plan will now be $10.99/month (up from $7.99). The ad-free Premium Plus Plan will now be $16.99/month (up from $13.99). Annual plans are also impacted with Peacock Premium going from $79.99 to $109.99 per year. Premium Plus will soon cost $169.99, instead of $139.99. New subscribers on July 23 will pay the new prices, while existing customers can expect the price to increase on the first billing cycle after July 23, depending on the date of your renewal.
