New Steelers RB Kaleb Johnson to train with Le'Veon Bell

Oh, what could have been. In the pantheon of great Pittsburgh Steelers running backs, Le'Veon Bell had the chance to be the GOAT. He really did. His rushing style was unique but his production was undeniable. However, Bell let a contract get in the way of greatness and cut a truly elite career short. In recent years, Bell has mended fences with the team and the fans and you can see he still wants to be connected to the organization. One way he's going to do it is by working with rookie running back Kaleb Johnson. Johnson spoke to NFL reporter Kay Adams talked to Johnson and he said that he's going to work out with Bell to improve some areas of his game. The main area Johnson wants to improve is pass protection. This is something Johnson wasn't asked to do a ton at Iowa and despite behing more of a receiver than blocker was something Bell became very good at. Johnson also praised Bell for his "kinda weird" running style and appreciated his patience and how he runs at his own pace. Johnson joins the Steelers as a former third-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft and will battle it out with veteran Jaylen Warren for the starting job during training camp. Michigan State Football Must Battle Big Ten Rival Nebraska for Class of 2026 Running Back Target Jamal Rule

Michigan State Football Must Battle Big Ten Rival Nebraska for Class of 2026 Running Back Target Jamal Rule originally appeared on Athlon Sports. The Michigan State football team was late to the party in recruiting this three-star running back out of Charlotte, N.C. Now as decision time is nearing, it seems that the Spartans' biggest competition is an in-conference rival. Advertisement The three-star recruit is planning to announce his commitment on Monday, June 3 around 6:30 p.m. EST. Michigan State Spartans running back Le'Veon Albrecht/Columbus Dispatch / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Michigan State extended an offer to Jamal Rule on June 9 and scheduled an official visit with the rising senior for June 20. The week before, Rule took his official visit to Nebraska. According to 247Sports Composite rankings, Rule is the No. 779 class of 2026 overall recruit, No. 48 running back overall, and No. 33 pick out of North Carolina. While he currently has five schools listed in the running for his commitment — North Carolina State, Syracuse, Virginia Tech, Nebraska, and MSU — signs are pointing to a two-way Big Ten race for the running back. Advertisement On June 22, Rule announced on X that his commitment will be decided a day later. While June has been quite a month for the Spartans, their class of 2026 lacks in the running back department. Tight ends Joey Caudill and Eddie Whiting, and wide receiver Zachary Washington and Tyren Wortham are the only ball handlers committed outside of quarterbacks. Head coach Jonathan Smith successfully recruited Wortham and flipped his decision from UCF to secure two wide receivers, but he now needs to redirect his attention to the vacant position. It speaks volumes that MSU is such a close competitor to land the running back considering how late the offer came, but Nebraska has been applying pressure since extending an offer on Jan. 4. One Big Ten school will more likely than not reel Rule in, but it's uncertain if that will be the Spartans or Cornhuskers. The Pittsburgh Steelers reached out to fans upset that Donald Trump received a jersey at a rally

Pittsburgh Steelers legend Rocky Bleier called an audible when he presented President Donald Trump with a Steelers jersey with the No. 47 during a rally in western Pennsylvania last week. Not everyone was thrilled about it. Several fans emailed the team expressing their anger at the gesture, which was not authorized directly by the team. The club responded to those who reached out, writing that the viewpoints of current and former players do not necessarily reflect the view of the organization. Trump was joined on stage at the rally to announce he was doubling tariffs on imported steel by 50% by quarterback Mason Rudolph and safety Myles Killebrew. Rudolph said he saw some of the blowback but did not take it personally. "That's the nature of social media,' Rudolph said Tuesday after the Steelers wrapped up a voluntary team workout. 'That's the nature of why America is so great. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion. Speech is free. Par for the course.' Bleier, Rudolph and Killebrew aren't the only people with ties to the Steelers who have appeared with Trump. Former stars Antonio Brown and Le'Veon Bell met Trump when he was stumping in western Pennsylvania ahead of the 2024 election. Former Steelers owner and Hall of Famer Dan Rooney served as the U.S. ambassador to Ireland from 2009-12 during Barack Obama's first term.
