Why, Yes, Charli XCX and George Daniel's Wedding Served Guests Cigarettes on Silver Platters

"Hearst Magazines and Yahoo may earn commission or revenue on some items through these links." Congrats to Mr. and Mrs. XCX, AKA Charli XCX and George Daniel! The couple officially said 'I do' with an intimate ceremony at the Hackney Town Hall in London on July 19, and it was just as chic as you'd expect. The 1975 donned a classic charcoal Armani suit while the Brat hitmaker wore a draped ivory satin corseted mini dress from Vivienne Westwood paired with Jimmy Choo slingback heels. Of course, she threw on her signature oversized shades for the post-wedding festivities, too, and captured the moment with a series of TikToks. 'When George isn't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle,' Charli captioned the first video, which was set to her 'girl, so confusing' remix with Lorde. In another clip, she shared behind-the-scenes vibes with her wedding party, including photographer Aidan Zamiri and Mr. XCX himself. She wore a chic off-the-shoulder white mini dress from Saint Laurent by Anthony Vaccarello as the group exuded 'bridal party energy' and danced to Far East Movement's 2010 club classic, 'Like a G6.' George's bandmates Ross MacDonald and Adam Hann were reportedly in attendance for the wedding, whereas The 1975's frontman, Matty Healy, had to skip out on the festivities to attend the premiere of I Know What You Did Last Summer, which stars his fiancée and Charli's '360' muse, Gabbriette Bechtel. While their nuptials remained pretty low-key, Charli and George's after-party brought on the brat-titude. According to The Sun, the reception took place at Italian restaurant Dalla before attendees made their way to Ellie's bar in Dalston. 'Charli's wedding reception was the epitome of Brat,' an insider told the outlet. 'Her and George wanted to keep it very cool, so they shunned cars and walked down Hackney High Street to get to Dalla. The restaurant had closed for them, and they had a massive family-style meal with loads of pasta and champagne. People walking past were stunned when they saw Charli and George having a cheeky pre-dinner cigarette outside.' And, according to Instagram Stories posted by DJ Alex Chapman, the couple served skinny cigarettes on silver platters for their guests: Charli revealed that she and George had the idea in mind during a 2024 appearance on the Anything Goes with Emma Chamberlain podcast. 'It's so fun,' she said of the wedding planning process, which she admitted made her and her now-husband 'crazy.' 'We're like, 'We're going to have this really epic, like, cigarette station!' and we're going to have people walking around with, like, silver trays of cigarettes,' she jokingly explained. If ^^^ all of this is any indicator, Charli made a point when she said everything is romantic. Charli XCX reveals emotional moment during her wedding to 1975 drummer George Daniel

Charli XCX has shared with fans that her new husband George Daniel cried during their wedding ceremony as his emotions got the better of him when he saw the Brat star in her dress Tying the knot is an emotional time for most. But judging by Charli XCX's comment, it looks as though her big day with 1975 drummer George Daniel was too much for him to handle as he broke down in tears. ‌ The Brat singer, 32, married her beau in an intimate ceremony at Hackney Town Hall surrounded by 20 of their closest friends and family. ‌ And she didn't fail to disappoint when it came to her choice of wedding dress. Charli wore an off white fitted Vivienne Westwood dress for her big day teamed with a matching veil and dark sunglasses. ‌ And she completed her look with a pair of white Jimmy Choo heels. After the ceremony, Charli took to the social media platform TikTok to share with fans her wedding dress. ‌ She quipped: "When George isn't crying when he sees me walking down the aisle." And it was at this point she informed fans that he had in fact shed a few tears during their ceremony. She quickly added: "Luckily he did." ‌ She also shared a sneak peek of the after-party which did not appear to be anything but a wild affair. But this time the singer had changed into another dress for the occasion. The party appeared to be in full swing as in one picture George was pictured wearing his wife's veil while smoking a cigarette. ‌ The partygoers seemed full of energy until the small hours of the morning and danced to the singer's own song Like a G6. She captioned the video clip saying: "Bridal party energy!" Meanwhile, even though Charli is adored the world over for her music which appears to have changed the cultural landscape, it seems she also is a secret fan when it comes to films. And one in particular titled the Bling Ring, which stars Harry Potter's Emma Watson. But Charli seems to have taken her film review account incredibly seriously as she had adopted a new name which not many were aware of until it was recently leaked. ‌ And she goes by the name of itscharlibb. Charli claims to have watched the film four times and awarded it a five star review. In her TikTok film review account, Charli says: "I feel like it feels more culturally relevant every single time that I rewatch it. When I watch this film, it feels like I'm reading a salacious gossip magazine, which I kind of feel like is the entire point." ‌ She added: "Also, I think the fashion is obviously back, like all the wardrobes in this movie kind of look like Addison's (Addison Rae) closet. It's giving high fashion." The Bling Ring is a crime comedy which centres on a group of girls that target celebrities and attempt to burgle their homes. Emma Watson stars alongside Leslie Mann and Katie Chang. And the soundtrack includes artists such as Kanye West and Azelia Banks.
