Report: Steelers' new throwback uniform and helmet to be unveiled on July 21

Steelers fans rejoice! We now have more information on the upcoming new throwback helmet and uniform set to be unveiled shortly. According to Andrew Lind of the Pittsburgh Steelers will reveal their new throwback yellow helmets and corresponding uniforms on July 21. Lind wrote that the new jerseys mirror the 2007–2011 throwback uniforms more than the team's Color Rush design, as the striping on the sleeves is slightly different. Previously, Steelers President Art Rooney II announced the new throwback jerseys would be worn against the Green Bay Packers — later confirmed to be in Week 8 on Sunday Night Football. The Steelers have had a polarizing assortment of throwback uniforms — such as the infamous 'Bumble Bee' jerseys worn with tan pants — but a return to the all-yellow helmets is a welcome one for the 2025 season. Report: Saints to introduce new alternate uniforms, helmets just before training camp

Saints fans may have to say goodbye to their 'Color Rush' jerseys or throwbacks Here's something to look forward to. Sports Logos' Andrew Lind reports that the New Orleans Saints plan on rolling out a new alternate helmet and accompanying helmet on Tuesday, July 22, just before the team kicks off their 2025 training camp on the following Wednesday. Lind previously reported that the Saints were among several teams working on new alternate helmets. But that's not all. This reports says that the Saints plan on replacing one of their two alternate uniforms while introducing the new look, swapping it out for either their old-school throwback uniforms or their popular white-and-gold "Color Rush" combo. Lind adds that "An old gold helmet makes sense" to better match the team's pants (which clash with the shade used in their throwbacks), so maybe that's a hint. Maybe it isn't. Either way, change was needed. When the NFL changed its rules to allow teams to use two different helmet designs a few years back, the Saints' overworked black helmets were a bit of a dud (going 0-4 in the new lids didn't help). The consensus take was that they needed more time in the oven, or at least shouldn't have been paired with their white "Color Rush" uniforms. If this move rectifies that mistake, it could be a big win for NFL fashion advocates everywhere. But of course the largest concern is whether the Saints are winning games, not what they're wearing into them. More changes are on the horizon. Starting this year, the AFC East and NFC West teams will unveil "Nike Rivalries" uniforms which will be introduced for every team in the league by 2028. Saints fans will have to wait a year or two (or three) to see what's coming, but at least they'll get an early look at a different jersey this summer.

Swimming for the Coastguard's good

Rhea Lind with her husband and coastguard volunteer Adam Lind (left), daughter Grace and Coastguard Clyde president James Robinson pose with a Coastguard vessel after she swam the last kilometre of 25 as part of the coastguard's Big Swim fundraiser. Photo: supplied After many early mornings and a final 1km swim in chilly Lake Dunstan, Alexandra woman Rhea Lind completed her goal of swimming 25km for the Coastguard on Sunday. Mrs Lind said she was proud of completing the challenge, having raised more than $500 for the organisation. To mark her finish, the Coastguard, as well as friends she had swam with, came to cheer her on for the final push, although her friends did not get in with her, she said. The lake was only 9°C, but it was still five warmer than the outside air. "I still feel like I got the warmer end of the deal." The Coastguard was an important organisation to Mrs Lind as both her husband and father-in-law volunteered for them. Her father-in-law told her about the "Big Swim" fundraiser, which is one of the biggest the Coastguard ran. Mrs Lind, being a passionate swimmer, decided to take on the challenge to recognise how important the Coastguard is to Central Otago. "I ... really wanted to do something to help give back to them, because I think they play a really vital role in our district. "If you come off riding your bike on the Dunstan Trail, it's actually the Coastguard that's going to come get you." The Big Swim had participants set targets for how far they would swim during June. Swimmers could hit their targets by breaking it into smaller pieces, completing it in any body of water. Mrs Lind set her sights high with a 25km goal, planning to complete it bit by bit throughout the month. For her the real challenge was not the swimming itself but rather finding the time to swim in her busy life, with her two children aged 2 and 5. "I get to the pool as it opens at 6am and usually I only get about 45 minutes in the pool before I've then got to get out. "I've also got to get them ready for a day of school and me ready for work and be at work by 8.30am." Not only did the Coastguard benefit from her challenge, she found the experience had been good for her mental health, as it allowed her to do something she loved. "It's a really good way of you pushing yourself to do something but you're also doing something good at the same time." Mrs Lind wanted to take part in the Big Swim every year from now and hoped as her two children got older finding the time to swim would become easier.

Want To Lose Weight? Here's the One Thing Dietitians Are Begging You To Do When You Wake Up

Want To Lose Weight? Here's the One Thing Dietitians Are Begging You To Do When You Wake Up originally appeared on Parade. Chances are, your morning routine doesn't change much day to day. Humans are creatures of habit—and habits are especially helpful to have when you're half awake. Whether your morning routine is slow and leisurely (spent writing in your journal and savoring a cup of coffee), or rushed (eating a protein bar as you get the kids out the door), it likely looks the same most of the you spend your mornings, it directly impacts your health for better or for worse—especially when it comes to your breakfast habits. With this in mind, dietitians share one breakfast habit they wish more people would adopt to support their health both in the short term and long term. While it can benefit your overall health, it can also be very helpful for weight loss.🩺SIGN UP for tips to stay healthy & fit with the top moves, clean eats, health trends & more delivered right to your inbox twice a week💊 If you typically start your day with something sweet, like sugar-sweetened oatmeal, fruit-flavored yogurt or a pastry, consider transitioning to a savory breakfast instead. While American culture tends to assign savory foods to lunch and dinner, the dietitians we talked to said that getting in the habit of eating a savory breakfast will more positively impact health.'Savory breakfasts are better for blood sugar control and set the stage for the rest of the day,' says Lindsay Allen, RD, a registered dietitian at BodyPure Functional Nutrition. She explains that starting the day with a big rise in blood sugar (which simple carbs like white bread or sugar can cause), leads to an energy crash later in the day. Related: Allen adds that this blood sugar crash also causes mood to tank because drastic blood sugar changes make many people feel anxious and jittery. 'Starting the day with a mix of protein and fat is one of the best ways to keep it level all day long,' she says.'Many studies have shown that limiting sugar intake in the morning can give you a head start for the day,' says Gabriella Nowicki, RDN, a registered dietitian at Rebecca Bitzer & Associates. She explains that savory foods are typically higher in protein and healthy fats, which keep blood sugar levels steady. Scientific research also shows that high-protein breakfasts are linked to weight loss. Registered dietitian Lisa Cicciarello Andrews, RD, points to another study showing that including protein at breakfast resulted in lower blood pressure and higher HDL levels. Related: Starting the day with a savory breakfast instead of a sweet one benefits long-term health too, when it's done consistently. 'A 2024 study on diet and cardiovascular disease noted that savory foods, such as legumes, fish, beans and seafood, were associated with a lower risk of cardiovascular disease, while refined carbohydrates increased the risk,' Andrews says. Nowicki adds that prioritizing adequate protein and minimizing added sugar in the morning can also support muscle development, reduce brain fog, reduce anxiety and enhance overall cognitive you eat breakfast matters too. Scientific research shows that people who ate breakfast before 11 a.m. experienced lower blood pressure and more weight loss than those who ate breakfast after 11 a.m. If you're trying to lose weight, it's best to eat breakfast no later than two hours after waking up. Related: If you're not used to having a savory meal in the morning, you may be wondering what a breakfast that won't spike your blood sugar even looks like. When making a savory breakfast (or any meal for that matter), Nowicki says it should include protein, healthy fats and fiber. This can look like eggs with veggies and avocado, scrambled tofu with spinach, non-sweetened oatmeal made with vegetable broth, miso and veggies, or a breakfast burrito made with eggs, beans, cheese and salsa. It's also important to know that just because a breakfast is savory, it doesn't automatically mean it's healthy. 'Savory breakfasts can be higher in sodium, especially those that include processed meats like bacon or ham,' Nowicki says. She recommends limiting both sugar and sodium at breakfast (and other meals) while increasing protein, fiber and healthy fats for a more nourishing start to the day. Once you start making savory breakfasts a habit, you'll likely notice your energy and mood are much more stable than when starting the day with something sweet. And it will still be just as delicious!
