Lucas Di Grassi shares his plan for upcoming races: 'We will go full force in these last five stages of championship'

He stood fifth in the Round 9 race in Tokyo, which was his best performance in the four races held in the two cities. Sharing a video on Instagram, Di Grassi has now spoken about taking part in the two double headers and how he scored 30 points this season while his teammate Zane Maloney is still evolving as a Formula E driver. Lucas Di Grassi on taking part in Formula E races in Tokyo and Shanghai Talking about the two double headers and the Round 8 race, in which he finished 17th, Lucas Di Grassi said in the video, 'Tokyo, the most congested circuit of the year, and Shanghai, the track that everyone knows from Formula 1, with a shortcut, a short version, but a high-speed track. And two interesting results. Tokyo, the first race was in the rain, they canceled qualifying, we ended up washing up at the back, because they used the result of Free Practice 2, anyway, they canceled qualifying, so we started at the back and stayed at the back, the way it was, you can't even see a meter in front. It was a very difficult thing.' Di Grassi also talked in detail about the Round 9 race in Tokyo in which he gained 5th position. He said, 'In race 2, we were very fast in the dry. In qualifying, I was the fastest in the group, even with the Lola Yamaha car that is still under development. So it was the best qualifying of the year in terms of results, P1 in the group, ahead of Nato, ahead of a group that has a well-developed car, so it was very good. In the race, we ended up fighting for the top 10 and ended up finishing in fifth place, getting 10 points in Tokyo. 'It was very important at Yamaha's home, with the Yamaha guys there. Yamaha is increasingly involved in the championship, increasingly involved in our team, putting a lot of resources, especially for the 4th generation, which is next year and the year after. So, it was a very important race,' he added. Lucas Di Grassi called the Shanghai race the opposite of Tokyo. He finished 18th in Round 10 and 9th in the Round 11 race in Shanghai. Lucas Di Grassi on his performance this season and his future plans Lucas Di Grassi is currently in the 16th position in the 2025 Formula E Driver Standings. He summed up his Formula E season with Lola Yamaha ABT so far and said, 'So we've already accumulated 30 points this year with the team. I scored all of the points. Zane Maloney is still learning and evolving. It's very fast, but it still needs to evolve in terms of Formula E experience. So, we have 30 points, six times, seven times more than I had last year with Mahindra. So, the team is evolving. Even though it's the first year, we're moving forward.' Di Grassi is all pepped up for the next five races. Talking about the Jakarta E-Prix and the following races in Berlin and London, he said, 'I have to say that we have been working hard. Next week there will be a test. The week after that, we will travel to Jakarta. So, we will go full force in these last five stages of the championship, trying to get another podium or at least score points, get a lot of points in these next stages. Thanks for the support.' The Lola Yamaha ABT driver competed with him during their karting, F3, and F2 days. He has talked about the hunger Hamilton needs—like the kind tennis star Rafael Nadal had on the court—and added that the Ferrari driver is not at the peak of his abilities right now. He is coming off a second-place finish at the Miami E-Prix held in April. As he gears up for the double-header in his own city, he has shared glimpses of his very first races—right from his first-ever international kart race 28 years ago. Lucas Di Grassi becomes 4th Formula E Driver in his 40s to reach podium, fans hail him as the GOAT
Lucas Di Grassi , the 40-year-old Brazilian driver who races for Lola Yamaha ABT, has made it to an exclusive list after grabbing the second spot on the podium at the Miami E-Prix . He is only the fourth Formula E racer to have reached a podium in his forties. He has 41 podium places in his Formula E career so far. Formula E has shared Grassi's achievement on its social media accounts and has called him the Goat of sustainable motorsport . Lucas Di Grassi is rocking at 40 Sharing a special poster titled '4 At 40' to highlight Lucas Di Grassi's achievement, the official X account of Formula E mentioned in the caption: 'Welcome to the club! @LucasdiGrassi joins an exclusive list after his second place finish at the #MiamiEPrix.' The other three drivers to have won a podium spot in their 40s are Nick Heidfeld, Andre Lotterer, and Stephane Sarrazin. A fan reacted to the tweet, 'The new 20's.' He had gone without a win for the last two years and wasn't expecting much from his car this year either. 'You need to have a lot of discipline to be able to continue the work and continue to push when you have bad results. When you have good results, it's very easy. But when you have bad results, to go back home, keep the focus, keep the head down and keep doing the work that you do, that at one point it's going to pay off. It's hard because you work, it doesn't. Then you work again, it doesn't pay off again. And then you keep working until it pays off,' he said at the Miami E-Prix. Lucas Di Grassi's podium at Miami E-Prix was an emotional moment: 'You need to have lot of discipline to be able to work when you have bad results'
Lucas Di Grassi 's podium finish at the Miami E-Prix wasn't something he or his team, Lola Yamaha ABT , had expected. Overwhelmed with emotion, Di Grassi was heard screaming with excitement in the car as it crossed the finish line and headed to the paddock. His family also joined him on the podium to share the special moment. Lucas Di Grassi opens up on his long journey to podium Lucas Di Grassi had not scored a podium in the last two years with Lola Yamaha ABT, and he expressed the frustration that had been building up during that time, as his hard work wasn't translating into results. His last podium came in Season 9, when he was part of Mahindra Racing. He said, 'It's very hard to start the project from zero so in the four races, I had four critical problems that pretty much didn't allow me to finish the race. So I was like, it's extremely (tough), you need to have a lot of discipline to be able to continue the work and continue to push when you have bad results.' 'When you have good results, it's very easy. But when you have bad results, to go back home, keep the focus, keep the head down and keep doing the work that you do that at one point it's going to pay off. It's hard because you work, it doesn't. Then you work again, it doesn't pay off again. And then you keep working until it pays off. And today was a day it paid off. So I am very happy.' It was also emotional to see Di Grassi's wife, Bianca Diniz Caloi, and their young children standing alongside him on the podium as they popped the champagne. Buzzing with confidence, the driver is now aiming to keep the momentum going at the next race in Monaco. The double-header is scheduled for May 3 and 4. Di Grassi was promoted to second place after a series of post-race penalties altered the fate of several drivers who had finished ahead of him, including the original winner, Norman Nato. As Pascal Wehrlein was declared the official winner, Di Grassi was moved up to second place.
