First major US airline to resume Israel flights as part of 'longstanding commitment to serving Tel Aviv'
The first U.S. airline has announced it will be resuming flights to Israel amid the current ceasefire between the Jewish State and Iran. United Airlines said it will resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, from New York/Newark on July 21, with twice-daily flights returning the next day. The Chicago-based airline halted flights last month, with its last flight taking place a day before "Operation Rising Lion" on June 11. Israel closed its airspace on June 13 — with full operations resuming after the 12 days of conflict concluded following a ceasefire deal brokered by President Donald Trump. "This resumption is in line with United's longstanding commitment to serving Tel Aviv," a United spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "Throughout 2025, United has flown to Tel Aviv more than any other U.S. airline," it said. The airline will continue flying passengers to Tel Aviv on its Boeing 787-10s. "United service to Tel Aviv always follows a detailed assessment of operational considerations in the region and close consultation with the unions representing our flight attendants and pilots," the statement added. Through a partnership with Lufthansa Group airlines, United also offers connections to Tel Aviv. American Airlines has not serviced Tel Aviv since Oct. 6, 2023 — a day before the Hamas terrorist attack. "American continuously evaluates its network and we have nothing new to share at this time regarding Tel Aviv service," said an American spokesperson. The State Department still has a travel advisory to "Reconsider Travel" in Israel, citing terrorism and civil unrest, and "Do Not Travel" in Northern Israel. "The security situation in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem is unpredictable, and U.S. citizens are reminded to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness as security incidents, including mortar and rocket fire and armed UAV intrusions and missiles, can take place without warning," the State Department's website says. President Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday evening. It was the Jewish leader's first trip to Washington since the 12-day war between Israel and Iran erupted, and comes on the heels of a stoppage in fighting between the two countries, as Fox News Digital reported. "We had tremendous success together," Trump said during the public portion of their dinner meeting. "And I think it will only go on to be even greater success in the future." Netanyahu surprised President Trump with a formal Nobel Peace Prize nomination at the dinner.

Swift action by Delhi ATC prevents potential mid-air collision involving SWISS flight, ET Infra
Advt The alertness of Delhi air traffic control (ATC) and pilots operating a SWISS flight to IGIA late Sunday saved the day when another aircraft ahead of the European airliner slowed in the air and didn't vacate the runway from the first available rapid exit a result, the spacing between the two arriving aircraft reduced from the four nautical miles being maintained by ATC, and the other plane was on the runway for 25-30 seconds longer than it should have. ATC asked pilots of the SWISS Airbus A330 to go around when it was at an altitude of 1,400 feet. It landed safely in the second incident happened after 11.40pm Sunday when SWISS LX 146 was flying in from Zurich and a carrier's A320 from Phuket was ahead of it in the sequence of to a senior ATC official, the other aircraft was "four nautical miles from touchdown on runway 11R and LX 146 behind it was about eight NM from touchdown. The other aircraft reduced speed on final approach. Subsequently, SWISS was asked to reduce speed to minimum speed by the approach controller".ATC asked the SWISS flight to "continue approach" because even this slightly reduced horizontal separation would have been enough for it to land had the other plane landed and vacated runway 11R using the first rapid exit taxiway. At 120 degrees to the runway, the alignment of the Y1 rapid exit taxiway would have made it possible for the aircraft to vacate the runway on landing roll itself and then LX 146 touching down."After landing, ATC asked the other plane's pilot to vacate the runway via rapid exit taxiway Y1. But the pilot said the aircraft would vacate the runway by Y2, which is further down the runway and farther away from Y1. This resulted in increased runway occupancy time by 25-30 seconds," said the the other flight couldn't vacate the runway in time, ATC asked SWISS to "go around" or carry out a missed approach for "safety reasons". Flight tracking sites show the Lufthansa Group airliner did so when it was at an altitude of 1,400 feet. It landed safely in its second attempt at 11.51pm, as per flight tracking sites.

Flight suspensions extended: What you need to know
In the wake of a sharp military escalation between Israeli Occupation and Iran, marked by an 'Israeli' airstrike on Iranian territory and a retaliatory Iranian attack targeting Tel Aviv, several international and regional airlines have suspended or canceled flights to destinations across the Middle East, citing growing security concerns. The Lufthansa Group announced that it is suspending its flights to Tel Aviv and Tehran until July 31, and to Amman, Beirut, and Erbil until June 20, due to the regional security situation. Here's a breakdown of current airline suspensions affecting the Jordanian capital in particular: Lufthansa: Suspended until June 20, 2025 Aegean Airlines: Suspended until the morning of June 28, 2025 Turkish Airlines: Suspended until June 16, 2025 Pegasus Airlines: Suspended until June 16, 2025 Tarom: Suspended until June 16, 2025 Flydubai: Cancellations ongoing through June 16, 2025 Emirates: Flights suspended until June 15, 2025, with selected cancellations on June 16 Etihad Airways: Scheduled to resume operations with a revised schedule on June 15, 2025 British Airways: Resumed operations on June 15, 2025, following earlier cancellations In addition to these suspensions, Turkey's A-Jet airline canceled all flights to Iran, Iraq, and Jordan until Monday, as confirmed by the Turkish Minister of Transport. The decision also affects Turkish Airlines and several local carriers. Meanwhile, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has issued a directive advising Russian airlines to avoid the airspace over Israeli Occupation, Jordan, Iraq, and Iran, and to suspend usage of airports in those countries until June 26 or until further notice. Swiss International Air Lines, a Lufthansa subsidiary, has also extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until October 25, and to Beirut until the end of July. The rapid escalation of hostilities in the region has raised serious concerns over the stability of civil aviation across Middle Eastern airspace. Aviation authorities and airlines continue to monitor developments closely amid warnings of a potential widening of the conflict and its broader regional and international implications.

Lufthansa Group: Winter flight schedule published
Lufthansa Group announced more Allegris connections than ever before: from Munich to New York, Chicago, Miami, Shanghai, Cape Town, Bengaluru and Tokyo. Lufthansa Group's passenger airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Discover Airlines, have published their winter flight schedules for 2025/26. The winter flight schedule begins on October 26, 2025. All destinations can be booked now. 'A stable, punctual, and reliable flight schedule for all Lufthansa Group airlines for the winter, especially for the Christmas holidays, is our top priority. Our employees at the airports will ensure that everything runs smoothly. In addition, with the expansion of the Allegris offering at Lufthansa Airlines, we are bringing a significant upgrade in the premium segment to many core markets,' said Dieter Vranckx, Chief Commercial Officer Lufthansa Group. Winter flight schedule highlights for Lufthansa For the 2025/2026 winter flight schedule, Lufthansa will offer additional long-haul flights whereby passengers can enjoy the new Allegris cabin in all classes: Economy, Premium Economy, Business, and First Class. Starting October 26, the new aircraft, with state-of-the-art cabin interiors, will fly daily from Munich to New York (John F. Kennedy and New Jersey-Newark), Chicago, Miami, Shanghai, Cape Town and Tokyo. In addition, Bengaluru in India will be served three times a week. This is the largest number of Allegris destinations operating simultaneously since its debut. Passengers already booked with these flights can now look forward to the Allegris seat. Ten A350-900s with the new cabin interior are already flying for Lufthansa in the winter schedule. More than half a million passengers in all classes have now enjoyed the new seats with extremely high satisfaction rates of nearly 100 percent. This year, Lufthansa also plans to introduce Allegris in Frankfurt with the Boeing 787-9 and the retrofitting of its existing fleet, starting with the Boeing 747-8. More news from Lufthansa Due to high demand, flights from Frankfurt to Bydgoszcz (Poland) and from Munich to Oradea (Romania) will continue next winter. These connections were added to the flight schedule in summer 2025. The winter season Airbus A380 destinations from Munich have also been confirmed: A380 enthusiasts can look forward to flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Bangkok andDelhi with the A380, which is extremely popular with guests and crew alike. Further news from Lufthansa Group Airlines Austrian Airlines will add Amsterdam as a fourth destination from Innsbruck this winter, in addition to its existing connections to Brussels, Warsaw, and Copenhagen. Austrian Airlines is also expanding its service from Vienna to Bangkok: up to two daily connections are now on the flight schedule. From October 26, 2025, Austrian Airlines will now fly to Linate Airport instead of Malpensa for all flights to Milan. This change was made by taking over the corresponding slots from ITA Airways, which, like Austrian Airlines, has been part of the Lufthansa Group since the beginning of the year. Linate Airport is much closer to Milan, significantly reducing the travel time to the city center for passengers. SWISS is expanding its service to the Polish city of Krakow. In addition, the destinations Cluj-Napoca (Romania) and Košice (Slovakia), which were served for the first time last winter, will continue to be served from Zurich. The long-haul destination Washington D.C. (USA) will also continue from Zurich this winter. From Geneva, SWISS is focusing on connections to and from the UK, Ireland, and Scandinavia – especially for winter sports travelers planning a vacation in Switzerland. Brussels Airlines is continuing to expand its services from Brussels to Africa. Lomé (Togo), Dakar (Senegal), Conakry (Guinea), Monrovia (Liberia), Accra (Ghana), and Freetown (Sierra Leone) will all receive additional weekly connections. Brussels Airlines is thus strengthening its role as the 'Africa expert' within the Lufthansa Group. Eurowings, Germany's largest leisure airline will connect Berlin with Abu Dhabi with three non-stop flights per week beginning in November 2025. After Dubai and Jeddah, this will be the third long-distance route for the German capital within a short space of time. The Berlin service to the booming metropolis of Dubai will also be expanded: Eurowings will fly to Dubai up to eleven times a week (instead of the previous seven times a week). Eurowings is also providing a real winter highlight in Lower Saxony: With the inaugural flight on November 4, there will be three direct flights a week from Hanover to Dubai. The third new destination will be reached from Baden-Württemberg: Eurowings will connect Stuttgart with Jeddah in Saudi Arabia twice a week going forward. The program to Egypt is also being expanded: In the new winter flight schedule 25/26, Eurowings will be flying to Marsa Alam from Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. Discover Airlines is adding another highlight to its route network: Starting in winter 2025/26, the holiday airline will fly from Frankfurt to the Seychelles for the first time. Flights to Punta Cana, in the Dominican Republic, are also on the schedule – the only direct connection from Munich to the popular Caribbean vacation destination. Discover Airlines is also adding Alta in Norway to its schedule from Frankfurt for the first time. First Class Lounge in Munich The Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Terminal 2 at Munich Airport is now open again. First Class travelers can enjoy the stylish lounge with its modern design and comfortable ambience on around one thousand square meters. A newly designed gastronomic area with an 'à la carte' restaurant, a front cooking buffet and a newly designed bar offer the highest level of exclusivity. The lounge also offers a variety of amenities such as quiet retreats, elegant washrooms, well-equipped work areas with printers and photocopiers as well as extensive entertainment facilities with TV areas and a large selection of newspapers and magazines. From now on, the lounge will be open daily from 05:00 to 22:00. The reopened lounge rounds off the Lufthansa First Class experience at Munich Airport and is part of a major premium offensive. Among others, First Class guests can also look forward to a renovated First Class check-in area in Munich.

Low-cost airline Ryanair cancels flights to Israel until August
The airline said in a statement that it had been "forced to cancel flights" for reasons "beyond our control." Low-cost airline Ryanair said it was "forced to cancel flights" to Israel until at least the beginning of August, citing reasons "beyond our control" on Wednesday. Opposition head MK Yair Lapid stated that the cancellations "could have been prevented if the government had worked in an orderly manner and offered airlines insurance reimbursement," adding that it had been done in the past. Earlier this week, British Airways delayed flights to Israel as well, citing concerns regarding the security situation in Israel. The Lufthansa Group, consisting of an alliance of airlines, including Lufthansa Airlines, Austrian Airlines, Brussels Airlines, Discover Airlines, Eurowings, ITA Airways, and Swiss International Air Lines, has delayed flights to Israel until at least June 15. Multiple airlines canceled flights to Israel following a Houthi missile striking the area of Ben-Gurion Airport in April due to a technical error. American carriers United and Delta—both of which had only recently resumed flights to Israel—have also canceled their flights, along with France's Transavia and its Air France, Air Canada, Japan's Nippon Airways, and Spain's Air Europa. This incident was considered one of the most serious failures in Israel's missile defense system.
