First major US airline to resume Israel flights as part of 'longstanding commitment to serving Tel Aviv'
The first U.S. airline has announced it will be resuming flights to Israel amid the current ceasefire between the Jewish State and Iran. United Airlines said it will resume flights to Ben Gurion Airport in Tel Aviv, Israel, from New York/Newark on July 21, with twice-daily flights returning the next day. The Chicago-based airline halted flights last month, with its last flight taking place a day before "Operation Rising Lion" on June 11. Israel closed its airspace on June 13 — with full operations resuming after the 12 days of conflict concluded following a ceasefire deal brokered by President Donald Trump. "This resumption is in line with United's longstanding commitment to serving Tel Aviv," a United spokesperson said in a statement to Fox News Digital. "Throughout 2025, United has flown to Tel Aviv more than any other U.S. airline," it said. The airline will continue flying passengers to Tel Aviv on its Boeing 787-10s. "United service to Tel Aviv always follows a detailed assessment of operational considerations in the region and close consultation with the unions representing our flight attendants and pilots," the statement added. Through a partnership with Lufthansa Group airlines, United also offers connections to Tel Aviv. American Airlines has not serviced Tel Aviv since Oct. 6, 2023 — a day before the Hamas terrorist attack. "American continuously evaluates its network and we have nothing new to share at this time regarding Tel Aviv service," said an American spokesperson. The State Department still has a travel advisory to "Reconsider Travel" in Israel, citing terrorism and civil unrest, and "Do Not Travel" in Northern Israel. "The security situation in Israel, including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem is unpredictable, and U.S. citizens are reminded to remain vigilant and take appropriate steps to increase their security awareness as security incidents, including mortar and rocket fire and armed UAV intrusions and missiles, can take place without warning," the State Department's website says. President Trump hosted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the White House on Monday evening. It was the Jewish leader's first trip to Washington since the 12-day war between Israel and Iran erupted, and comes on the heels of a stoppage in fighting between the two countries, as Fox News Digital reported. "We had tremendous success together," Trump said during the public portion of their dinner meeting. "And I think it will only go on to be even greater success in the future." Netanyahu surprised President Trump with a formal Nobel Peace Prize nomination at the dinner.

Swift action by Delhi ATC prevents potential mid-air collision involving SWISS flight, ET Infra
Advt The alertness of Delhi air traffic control (ATC) and pilots operating a SWISS flight to IGIA late Sunday saved the day when another aircraft ahead of the European airliner slowed in the air and didn't vacate the runway from the first available rapid exit a result, the spacing between the two arriving aircraft reduced from the four nautical miles being maintained by ATC, and the other plane was on the runway for 25-30 seconds longer than it should have. ATC asked pilots of the SWISS Airbus A330 to go around when it was at an altitude of 1,400 feet. At 120 degrees to the runway, the alignment of the Y1 rapid exit taxiway would have made it possible for the aircraft to vacate the runway on landing roll itself and then LX 146 touching down."After landing, ATC asked the other plane's pilot to vacate the runway via rapid exit taxiway Y1. But the pilot said the aircraft would vacate the runway by Y2, which is further down the runway and farther away from Y1. This resulted in increased runway occupancy time by 25-30 seconds," said the the other flight couldn't vacate the runway in time, ATC asked SWISS to "go around" or carry out a missed approach for "safety reasons". Flight tracking sites show the Lufthansa Group airliner did so when it was at an altitude of 1,400 feet. It landed safely in its second attempt at 11.51pm, as per flight tracking sites.

The decision also affects Turkish Airlines and several local carriers. Meanwhile, Russia's Federal Air Transport Agency (Rosaviatsiya) has issued a directive advising Russian airlines to avoid the airspace over Israeli Occupation, Jordan, Iraq, and Iran, and to suspend usage of airports in those countries until June 26 or until further notice. Swiss International Air Lines, a Lufthansa subsidiary, has also extended its suspension of flights to Tel Aviv until October 25, and to Beirut until the end of July. The rapid escalation of hostilities in the region has raised serious concerns over the stability of civil aviation across Middle Eastern airspace. Lufthansa Group announced more Allegris connections than ever before: from Munich to New York, Chicago, Miami, Shanghai, Cape Town, Bengaluru and Tokyo. Lufthansa Group's passenger airlines, including Lufthansa, Austrian Airlines, SWISS, Brussels Airlines, Eurowings and Discover Airlines, have published their winter flight schedules for 2025/26. The winter flight schedule begins on October 26, 2025. All destinations can be booked now. Eurowings is also providing a real winter highlight in Lower Saxony: With the inaugural flight on November 4, there will be three direct flights a week from Hanover to Dubai. The third new destination will be reached from Baden-Württemberg: Eurowings will connect Stuttgart with Jeddah in Saudi Arabia twice a week going forward. The program to Egypt is also being expanded: In the new winter flight schedule 25/26, Eurowings will be flying to Marsa Alam from Cologne, Hamburg and Berlin. First Class Lounge in Munich The Lufthansa First Class Lounge in Terminal 2 at Munich Airport is now open again. First Class travelers can enjoy the stylish lounge with its modern design and comfortable ambience on around one thousand square meters. A newly designed gastronomic area with an 'à la carte' restaurant, a front cooking buffet and a newly designed bar offer the highest level of exclusivity. The lounge also offers a variety of amenities such as quiet retreats, elegant washrooms, well-equipped work areas with printers and photocopiers as well as extensive entertainment facilities with TV areas and a large selection of newspapers and magazines. From now on, the lounge will be open daily from 05:00 to 22:00. The reopened lounge rounds off the Lufthansa First Class experience at Munich Airport and is part of a major premium offensive. Low-cost airline Ryanair cancels flights to Israel until August

American carriers United and Delta—both of which had only recently resumed flights to Israel—have also canceled their flights, along with France's Transavia and its Air France, Air Canada, Japan's Nippon Airways, and Spain's Air Europa. This incident was considered one of the most serious failures in Israel's missile defense system.
