Tight end target Luke Sorensen commits to Nebraska football over Ole Miss
A four-star tight end recruit has announced his commitment to the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Luke Sorensen chose the Huskers over finalists Ole Miss and Penn State. Sorensen plays tight end for Servite High School out of Anaheim, California. It should be no surprise that the tight end chose Nebraska. The recruit recently told On3 that Nebraska's offensive scheme is attractive to him. Advertisement 'Nebraska is another school I like a lot. I think Dylan Raiola is a great quarterback and I like the offense they run too. I see a great opportunity to play there too. In their tight end room, I feel I could make an impact. It is Big Ten football, so they are looking for bigger tight ends like me.' In 11 games last season, Sorensen had 15 receptions for 183 yards and two touchdowns. The tight end is the sixth recruit for the Nebraska class of 2026. The Huskers have made the tight end position a priority on the recruiting trail and in their offensive scheme. With talent like Heinrich Haarberg, Luke Lindenmeyer, and Carter Nelson already on the roster, it should be no surprise that Nebraska would want to add to that depth via recruiting. A look at Nebraska's class of 2026 after the addition of top tight end Luke Sorensen
The Nebraska Cornhuskers' class of 2026 landed its sixth commitment on Friday evening. Tight end Luke Sorensen is the latest addition to the Husker football program. Sorensen is one of two four-star prospects in the 2026 class, along with offensive lineman Hayden Ainsworth of Biloxi, MS. The four remaining prospects are all ranked as three-star commits. The Huskers lost one of their four-star recruits earlier this week when Florida prep corner CJ Bronaugh decommitted. He would switch his commitment to the Florida Gators later in the week, in a move that was described as a desire to remain closer to home. The class has only one defensive commit with in-state linebacker Jace Reynolds. Offensively, the most notable name in the class is quarterback Dayton Raiola, the younger brother of Nebraska starting quarterback Dylan Raiola. The class of 2026 still has a long way to go before it is finished. It currently ranks 71st in the nation and 18th in the Big Ten, according to the latest analysis from On3. Nebraska tight end target cancels visit to rival school
Nebraska tight end target cancels visit to rival school Nebraska football appears to be making headway with class of 2026 three-star tight end Luke Sorensen. The tight end has canceled his visit to Penn State, which was set to take place this weekend. He is set to decide on June 20, and has the Huskers and Ole Miss as his final two teams. This was reported by Tim Verghese on Tuesday. Sorensen is the 34th overall player in the state of California, and the 19th overall player at his position per Rivals rankings. He most recently visited Lincoln last weekend, during what was a big recruiting weekend for the program. Sorensen has received several crystal ball predictions over the past couple of days, and this looks like a recruitment that could be in Nebraska's favor. Sorensen would be the sixth commitment of the 2026 class, as the program most recently landed offensive lineman Rex Waterman on Tuesday afternoon. The program appears to be a very good spot in this recruitment at the moment.
