In two operations conducted in the general area of Tingkai Khullen village, Kangpokpi district, and the general area of Maohing village and Changoubung village, Kangpokpi district, on July 21, security forces recovered weapons, explosives, arms, and ammunition. The police recovered one INSAS rifle with magazine, one 303 rifle, T/Sight with magazine, one local made lathode, one .32 pistol with magazine, four local made bolt action rifles, two canon pumpis, one M16 rifle, one MA1 assault rifle, one sniper rifle, one .32 bore pistol, seven single barrel rifles, four bolt action rifles, six pull mech rifles, two improvised mortars and four tube launchers. Ammunition recovered includes fifty .303 ammunition, two lathode shells, ten 12 mm rounds (bolt action), two pumpi shells, one 84mm RL HE round, sixty-one 7.62 mm AK blank rounds, seven single barrel blank rounds, and twenty-three 7.62 mm SLR blank rounds. Security forces also recovered four hand grenades. They also recovered two Baofeng wireless sets, two BP plates, two hand-held radio sets, two No 36 hand grenade arming rings, four No 36 hand grenade detonators, one sniper rifle magazine, and one .32 bore pistol magazine. Intelligence-based combing operations and cordon and search operations were carried out extensively to nab those involved in extortion and criminal activities in the state. Security forces arrested four active cadres of UPPK from the Koirengei Chingol Leikai area in Imphal East district. They were identified as Nishan Ngangbam alias Tamngakpa (24) of Khumbong Mayai Leikai, Imphal West district, Laishangbam Roshan Singh alias Yaibi (35) of Churachandpur Khuga Tampak Meitei Leikai, a/p Langol Game Village, Zone-1, Imphal West district, Chungkham Kiran Meitei alias Lepsinba (21) of Khumbong Mayai Leikai, Imphal West district, and Chandam Ratan Meitei alias Lion (41) of Koirengei Bazar, Imphal East district.

Security forces arrest seven militants in Manipur
IMPHAL: Seven militants were arrested from different parts of Manipur, police said on Tuesday. Three members of the banned Kangleipak Communist Party (KCP) were apprehended from Pangal Basti in Tengnoupal district on Sunday. The arrested individuals were identified as Khumanthem Umakanta Singh (36), Pukhrambam Naoton Singh (22) and Soibam Bargil Meitei (23). In a separate operation on Monday, four cadres of the proscribed United Peoples' Party of Kangleipak (UPPK) were arrested from Koirengei Chingol Leikai in Imphal East district. Police identified them as Nishan Ngangbam (24), Laishangbam Roshan Singh (35), Chungkham Kiran Meitei (21) and Chandam Ratan Meitei (41). Authorities said all seven militants were involved in extorting money from local businesses. The arrests were made based on specific intelligence inputs, police added. In a significant development, security forces recovered a major arms haul during raids in Tingkai Khullen, Maohing and Changoubung villages of Kangpokpi district on Monday. The seized weapons included an INSAS rifle, a .303 rifle, a lathode, a .32 pistol, four bolt-action rifles, an M16 rifle, an MA1 assault rifle, a sniper rifle, seven single-barrel rifles and four hand grenades, police said

2 killed, 1 nabbed in separate ops in Maguindanao
Two people were killed while another was arrested in separate operations against illegal drugs and selling of firearms in Maguindanao provinces. Police and military personnel were about to serve an arrest warrant against a man who is facing charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act in Datu Montawal, Maguindanao del Sur. However, the operating team engaged the subject of the warrant and his companions in an exchange of fire, which resulted in the death of one of the suspects and the arrest of his companion. The subject of the warrant escaped and is being pursued, as of this writing. Seized from the suspects who were slain and arrested were a .45 pistol, a magazine, ammunition, and sachets of suspected shabu. Meanwhile, troops of the Marine Battalion Landing Team-2, personnel of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG), and other police units conducted an entrapment operation against the alleged selling of firearms in Barira, Maguindanao del Norte. The target of the operation was identified as alias 'Rokkie,' who is facing charges for murder, frustrated murder, and robbery. Instead of surrendering, the suspect allegedly opened fire, prompting authorities to return fire. The suspect was killed during the encounter. According to the 6th Infantry Division (6ID), the operation was launched after an informant tipped authorities that the suspect was allegedly planning to sell firearms in the area. During the operation, authorities seized several firearms, including an M16 rifle, M14 rifle, several magazines, ammunition, a grenade, and a caliber .45 pistol. 6ID added that the suspect was said to be part of an armed group allegedly involved in illegal activities, including gun-for-hire, robbery-holdup, and illegal drug trade in the region. Man, 70, hurt after gun attack in Bukidnon
A 70-year-old man was injured after unidentified gunmen riddled his home with bullets in Barangay Kinawe, Libona, Bukidnon. Series of gunshots stirred residents past midnight on Wednesday, July 16, 2025. Authorities said the house of the victim was strafed while he and his wife were sleeping inside. Neighbors claimed to have heard at least 30 gunshots. No one reportedly saw the gunmen as it was dark at that time. Police recovered 28 empty shells from an M16 rifle and eight empty shells from a caliber 9mm pistol from the area. The gunfire was concentrated on the side of the house where the victim was sleeping. The walls were riddled with bullet holes and a chicken was killed. The victim sustained three gunshot wounds and is now receiving treatment at the hospital. Fortunately, his wife was unharmed. Authorities are eyeing land dispute as motive behind the attack. It was learned that this was not the first time the victim had been attacked. Prior to the incident, the suspects attempted to burn down his house, but neighbors were able to put it out. 11 alleged BIFF members surrender in Maguindanao del Sur
At least 11 alleged members of a Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF)-Bungos Faction have returned to the folds of the law in Maguindanao del Sur. According to the 90th Infantry Battalion, the former BIFF members also turned over their firearms during a ceremony on July 9, 2025. The firearms surrendered included an M653 rifle, an M203 grenade launcher, an M16 rifle, a caliber .50 Barret sniper rifle, a 7.62mm sniper rifle, an M1 Carbine, a 7.62mm single-shot muzzle, two M79 grenade launcher, two M1Garand rifles, and an 9mm Uzi. The military said the relentless military operations, hunger, and the appeals of their families and local officials pushed them to surrender and start a new life. As support for their reintegration, they were given cash assistance, grocery items, rice, corn seeds and other assistance from various agencies, local government units in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), and other peace advocacy partners. 601st Infantry Brigade Commander, Brigadier General Edgar Catu, said the surrender of the former BIFF memebrs is a testament to the renewed trust of the people in the ability of the government and local leaders to lead the community toward peace. 6ID Commander, Major General Donald Gumiran, also lauded the troops of the 90IB for the success and encouraged the remaining members of armed groups to seize the opportunity to turn over a new leaf while the doors of the government remain open for reintegration.
