Will you notice this rumored big change coming to the rear panel of the M5 iPad Pro?

A report out of Korea says that mass production of the tablet's OLED panels by Samsung and LG has started. The device could end up being unveiled in October or November and released in time for the 2025 holiday shopping season. Last year, Samsung supplied Apple with the OLED displays for the 11-inch M4 iPad Pro while fellow South Korean company LG produced the 13-inch OLED panel for the 2024 iPad Pro. This year, reports suggest that both LG and Samsung will each deliver 11-inch and 13-inch displays used on the iPad Pro (2025) models. Last year's iPad Pro (2024) tablets were the first from Apple to replace the LCD panels with OLED. OLED displays offer users a screen with better contrast, darker blacks, and wider viewing angles. Because OLED pixels generate their own light, no backlight is needed for OLED displays. Thus, such screens are thinner and are more flexible than LCD displays. Devices using an OLED panel can save battery life by going into Dark mode. That's because creating the color black on OLED is a matter of turning off a pixel and pixels that are turned off do not need to draw power from the battery. Apple is expected to convert the display on the iPad mini to OLED next year and do the same with the iPad Air in 2027. The latter will be manufactured by TSMC using its 3nm process node. Besides using the most advanced SoC in Apple's lineup, there is another huge change in store for the upcoming iPad Pro. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman has said that the Apple logo on the back of the tablet will now be in landscape orientation as opposed to the previous portrait orientation. Those who prefer to hold their iPad Pro in landscape mode might feel better knowing that the iconic Apple logo on the back of their tablets will match perfectly with how they are holding their premium iPads. Huge delays after four-vehicle crash
A four-vehicle crash has caused major delays on Sydney's M4, one of the main citybound routes from the city's western suburbs. Three cars and a truck collided on the M4 eastbound at Minchinbury - between Wallgrove Rd and the M7 offramp - at about 5.50am on Thursday, police say. Two of the three eastbound lanes have been closed approaching the M7, with motorists warned to expect delays. Traffic cameras near the scene show significant congestion as commuters begin their morning journey towards the city, with banked-up vehicles stretching for kilometres. Paramedics treated one of the car drivers – a 65-year-old woman – at the scene, before she was taken to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition. The other drivers - a 25-year-old man, a 38-year-old man, and the 42-year-old truck driver - were all uninjured in the collision. The indicient is under investigation by officers from the Traffic and Highway Patrol Command. More to come.

Rawalpindi deports over 45 aliens
Afghan refugees wait in a queue to cross the Pakistan-Afghanistan border in Torkham on October 27, 2023. PHOTO: AFP The repatriation of Afghan nationals from Rawalpindi continues, with more than 45 individuals, including the family members and associates of an Afghan national, Wali Jan, deported to Afghanistan. These individuals were residing illegally at the incarcerated suspect's home in Pakistan. Wali Jan is currently imprisoned in Adiala Jail and will be deported to Afghanistan upon completion of legal proceedings. Sources said Wali Jan is involved in several serious criminal cases registered at various police stations in Rawalpindi and Islamabad. These include charges related to terrorism, attempted murder, resistance to law enforcement, aerial firing, and display of weapons on social media. In the first week of this month, CCD and Mandrah police arrested Wali Jan and his accomplices for brandishing weapons on TikTok. Authorities recovered three rifles, including Kalashnikov and M4, along with 13 magazines, bullets, and other items. Rawalpindi City Police Officer (CPO) Khalid Hamdani stated that promoting weapons is a criminal offense and will not be tolerated. "No one will be allowed to become a symbol of fear for citizens," he asserted. Following his arrest, Wali Jan was declared a proclaimed offender in a case registered at Sadar Bairooni Police Station. During the investigation, authorities discovered more Afghan nationals residing illegally at his camp. A joint search operation was conducted by Sadar Division Police in the Mandira area, during which illegal Afghan residents were taken into custody. Among those detained were two men, 12 women, and 35 children. Wali Jan's own Afghan identification card was found to be expired. Upon confirmation of their illegal status and the suspect's involvement in criminal activities, Rawalpindi police transferred the individuals to a holding camp before completing their deportation via land route under tight security. A senior police officer confirmed to The Express Tribune that all individuals associated with Wali Jan, totaling over 45, have been repatriated to Afghanistan. Legal formalities for Wali Jan are ongoing, and he will be deported once the process is completed.

The Real Reason BMW's M2 CS Doesn't Have A Manual Box
The Real Reason BMW's M2 CS Doesn't Have A Manual Box originally appeared on Autoblog. The ultimate iteration of the current BMW M2 was unveiled last month, but something was missing. We're referring to the M2 CS, of course, which boasts more power and even beefier bodywork than the normal M2. Sadly, the CS is restricted to an eight-speed automatic transmission, with no manual option available as in the regular M2. It turns out that the boosted six-cylinder engine in the CS is simply too powerful for BMW's six-speed manual. View the 2 images of this gallery on the original article Whereas the standard M2 develops 473 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque from its 3.0-liter engine, the M2 CS dials that up to 523 hp and 479 lb-ft. At Le Mans last weekend, BMW Blog spoke to BMW M's head of R&D, Dirk Häcker, who confirmed that the manual gearbox can only handle up to 473 hp/405 lb-ft, while still being in line with the company's requirements. If BMW released the M2 CS with a manual, it would have had to reduce the engine's outputs to a point where it would not have been enough to justify the CS badge. It decided against going that route, which means the only alternative was the automatic. The larger M4 follows a similar recipe: In base 473-hp form, it has a manual, but the 503-hp M4 Competition only gets an automatic. It may not have a manual, but the M2 CS is so powerful that your focus is probably better spent on watching the road ahead than shifting gears. This compact coupe will hit 60 mph in 3.7 seconds and top out at 188 mph, its performance also aided by a weight reduction of nearly 100 limited and staggeringly expensive BMW 3.0 CSL conflicts Häcker's statement somewhat, as it has a six-speed manual yet produced 552 hp. There's a good reason for this, though. 'It's nearly the same one [gearbox used by the M2 and 3.0CSL],' said Häcker. 'The thing is, we have different requirements. I think everybody knows the 3.0 CSL is a very rare, exclusive car. It will not be driven every day. Also, not the mileage. So, we had a special commitment overall to use [the manual] there, but it's not an option for a track tool or something like that.' Interestingly, the 3.0 CSL is more powerful but less torquey (406 lb-ft) than the M2 CS, so it appears BMW even had to make some compromises in this 50-unit exotic to make it work as a manual. Ultimately, BMW M surely has the expertise to develop a brawnier manual 'box that can handle the M2 CS' outputs. After all, much more powerful cars like the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing (668 hp) and Lamborghini Murciélago (661 hp) have manuals. But developing an all-new manual for a low-volume car like the M2 CS may not have been worth the investment for BMW at this stage. Although the ultimate M2 misses out on a manual, BMW is still keeping the stick-shift alive where it can. Thanks to strong demand, the Z4 roadster manual is sticking around for longer than anticipated. Together with the M2, M3, and M4, there are still (almost) a handful of new manual BMWs to keep purists Real Reason BMW's M2 CS Doesn't Have A Manual Box first appeared on Autoblog on Jun 20, 2025 This story was originally reported by Autoblog on Jun 20, 2025, where it first appeared.
