Xiaomi Aims High With 13 New Products, Including MIX Flip 2, Pad 7S Pro & AI Glasses
Xiaomi unveiled a wave of innovation at its 'New Beginnings' product launch event in Beijing, alongside its first SUV EV, the Xiaomi YU7. Centered around its robust Internet of Things (IoT) platform, Xiaomi introduced the sleek MIX Flip 2, the powerful Pad 7S Pro 12.5, a pair of AI Glasses and an impressive lineup of next-generation wearables and IoT devices designed for the domestic market. The Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 is the latest addition to Xiaomi's foldable smartphone range, bringing major upgrades across its design, performance, camera system and more. Powering the device is the Snapdragon 8 Elite Mobile Platform, backed by a large 5165 mAh battery, which is the biggest so far in a compact foldable. The main camera features a Light Fusion 800 sensor and a Leica Summilux optical lens, offering enhanced photo quality and creative possibilities. The 3.5-inch external display is smarter than ever, supporting over 500 popular apps. The Flip 2 also adds a fun touch with three new animated lock screen pets that respond to your interactions. You can even turn your own pet photos into personalised AI lock screens, with the AI preserving their unique facial features. Design-wise, the MIX Flip 2 is ultra-slim at just 7.57 mm when open, and weighs only 199g. It comes in four colors: White, Purple, Green, and Checkered Gold. The device offers three storage configurations: 12GB+256GB, 12GB+512GB, and 16GB+1TB, starting at RMB 5,999. Xiaomi also introduced a Special Edition MIX Flip in the same colourway as the its new YU7 EV so car owners can carry matching coloured flip phones. It'll be available through Xiaomi Store, Xiaomi Auto App and Xiaomi Home in eight colours and two storage versions: 12GB+256GB (RMB 5,999 RMB) and 12GB+512GB (RMB 6,499). The Xiaomi Pad 7S Pro 12.5 is Xiaomi's newest flagship tablet, powered by its first-ever self-developed 3nm chip, the Xiaomi XRING O1. This processor offers strong performance while keeping energy use low, making the tablet fast and efficient. It boasts a large 12.5-inch 3.2K LCD display with up to 1000 nits of brightness, so visuals stay sharp even outdoors. It includes full DC dimming and TÜV Rheinland certifications for better eye comfort, plus colour calibration to keep your display consistent across Xiaomi phones, laptops, and TVs. Despite being just 5.8mm thin and weighing 576g (or 585g for the Matte Glass Version), it houses a powerful 10,610 mAh battery with 120W HyperCharge, reaching full charge in just 36 minutes. It also supports 7.5W reverse charging and AI-powered smart charging that adapts to your habits to preserve battery health. For photography and video calls, it features a 32MP front camera and a 50MP rear camera. And with Wi-Fi 7, you get faster and more reliable wireless connectivity. The tablet is available in five colours: Black, Purple, Titanium Silver, Basalt Gray, and Matte Glass, and starts at RMB 3,299, with the Matte Glass version priced from RMB 4,099. Xiaomi also unveiled its latest innovation in wearables, the Xiaomi AI Glasses. Weighing at just 40g and available in Black, Brown, and Green, they feature optional electrochromic lenses that can change shade in just 0.2 seconds. Titanium alloy hinges ensure durability and comfort, with a fit tailored specifically for Asian facial features. The glasses are equipped with a 12MP first-person camera (Sony IMX681), dual speakers, and a five-microphone array with bone-conduction and wind-noise resistance, perfect for immersive sound, clear calls, and even livestreaming while cycling at 12 m/s. At the heart of the device is a dual-chip system: the Snapdragon AR1 handles demanding tasks, while a low-power chip powered by Xiaomi's Vela OS keeps everything running efficiently. The built-in 263 mAh battery provides up to 8.6 hours of use, nearly double that of most competitors. But these aren't just smart glasses, they're a full-fledged AI-powered companion, giving users features like object recognition, real-time text translation, calorie counting, daily information lookups, and even meeting tools like automatic transcription, smart summaries, and interpretation in 10 languages, including English, Japanese, German, and Spanish. It can even scan a QR code to make payments just by looking at it, along with a voice command of course (this feature is probably only available in China at launch). The Xiaomi AI Glasses also pair seamlessly with Xiaomi smartphones for dual-camera functionality. They charge via USB-C and even support plug-in livestreaming. Priced from RMB 1,999, the AI Glasses are now available through Mi Home, the Xiaomi Auto App, and other official channels. In the wearables department, the Xiaomi Watch S4, Smart Band 10 and OpenWear Stereo Pro were also launched, along with Redmi K80 and K Pad as well as various IoT products such as air-conditioners, a hair dryer, vacuum and robot vacuum.
