Xiaomi kicked off its major announcement event today with the MIX Flip 2. There are no surprises here, after weeks of intentional teasers, we knew just how the flip-foldable would look and just how great it would be!
Plum Green and Nebula Purple
Available in four colors - Lattice Gold, Shell White, Nebula Purple, and Plum Green - and in three memory configurations - 12/256GB, 12/512GB, and 16GB/1TB.
The phone's hinge is an innovative three-link, four-float plate structure, ensuring flat closing and as little crease as possible.
Lattice Gold and Shell White
The MIX Flip 2 looks very much like its predecessor, but it's better in just about every way. The cover screen now stretches further into its bezels and has grown by 0.1 inches. The folding screen is the same in diagonal at 6.86 inches.
Both screens support the P3 wide color gamut, offer a 120Hz max refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 3,200 nits. The cover screen's touch sampling rate maxes out at 120Hz, while the inner one goes up to 300Hz.
The MIX Flip 2 uses the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC and features a dual vapor chamber design for cooling.
While last year's Mix Flip had an impressive 4,780mAh battery pack, the MIX Flip 2 bumps the pack up to an even better 5,165mAh Xiaomi GSR. It takes 67W wired and 50W wireless charging.
Moving on to cameras. Xiaomi dropped the 1x + 2x blueprint for the MIX Flip 2, and you get a 23mm f/1.7 wide angle with a 50MP 1/1.55-inch OV50E sensor, and a 14mm f/2.2 ultrawide with a 50MP sensor, autofocus, and 5cm macro capabilities.
Upfront is a 32MP selfie camera with 4K video.
The Xiaomi MIX Flip 2 ships with a USB cable, a two-piece case, and a 67W charger. Prices are CNY 5,999 (€715, £610, INR 71,600) for the 12/256GB model, CNY 6,499 (€775, £660, INR 77,600) for the 12/512GB, and CNY 7,299 (€870, £742, INR 87,000) for the 16GB/1TB model.

Tecno Camon 40 Pro review

Tecno has unveiled its Camon 40 series at the MWC in Barcelona, and today, we are going to meet one of the most interesting specimens - the Camon 40 Pro 5G. It offers a well-rounded specs sheet with plenty of premium features at an attractively low price point. The Camon 40 Pro 5G bets heavily on design and multimedia - it has a curved shape with an unusual looking back, a fast 144Hz OLED, Dolby Atmos speakers, a powerful processor, and 50MP cameras on both sides for a premium photo experience. Let's start from the beginning. The Camon 40 Pro 5G has curved panels and a thin profile, Gorilla Glass 7i protection, and IP68 plus IP69 ratings. It is also tested to be drop resistant - to an extent. The Camon 40 Pro 5G packs a 6.78-inch 1080p OLED display with 144Hz refresh rate and HDR10+ certifications. The model utilizes a rather popular chipset lately - the Dimensity 7300 5G. The Camon lineup has always had a focus on the camera kit, and the Camon 40 Pro 5G is no exception. It has a 50MP LYT-700C main camera, an 8MP ultrawide secondary, and a 50MP AF selfie imager. The Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G is powered by a 5,200mAh battery that supports up to 45W wired charging. It boots Android 15 with Hi OS 15, which is brimming with AI options, and it is promised to get three major software upgrades in the following years. Tecno Camon 40 Pro 5G specs at a glance: Body: 164.3x74.6x7.3mm, 179g; Gorilla Glass 7i front. plastic frame, plastic back; IP68/IP69 dust tight and water resistant (high pressure water jets; immersible up to 2m for 30 min). 164.3x74.6x7.3mm, 179g; Gorilla Glass 7i front. plastic frame, plastic back; IP68/IP69 dust tight and water resistant (high pressure water jets; immersible up to 2m for 30 min). Connectivity: 5G; Wi-Fi; BT; NFC; FM radio; Infrared port. 5G; Wi-Fi; BT; NFC; FM radio; Infrared port. Misc: Fingerprint reader (under display, optical); stereo speakers; Circle to Search. The Camon 40 Pro 5G seems like a sweet deal, but it's not exactly an update over the Camon 30 Pro 5G. The chipset is a lower class, the ultrawide camera has been severely downgraded, and the charging power is lower. Those features are now reserved for the Premium model. On a positive note, these cuts made the Camon 40 Pro 5G more affordable, so it is a silver lining of sorts. Unboxing the Camon 40 Pro 5G The Camon 40 Pro 5G arrives in a thick paper box, which is filled with goodies. It all starts with the phone, of course, then there is a USB-A-to-C cable, and even a 45W power adapter. That's not all! Tecno bundles the phone with a premium protective case, which features an incredibly grippy and stylish back that matches the phone's design. Finally, the phone arrives with a factory-applied protective folio on its screen. Page 2

The Infinix Hot 60i is already selling online

We have known that the Infinix Hot 60 family is right around the corner for some time now, but we expected a bit more formal release than a random reader tip in our inbox, informing us that the Hot 60i is already on sale in Bangladesh. We imagine that there will be a bit more heads up for the higher-end models from the Hot 60 family, but this might just be it for the Hot 60i. Regardless, the seller has a conveniently rich specs page. The Hot 60i resembles the Hot 50i, or rather the Hot 50, as it features a trio of "camera" modules on the back. Infinix Hot 60i In any case, the phone's physical appearance is very familiar. It measures 167.9 x 75.6 x 7.7 mm, featuring a plastic back and frame, and a Gorilla Glass front. We don't know exactly what kind of glass is used, and we aren't quite sure how well-sealed the design is. According to the specs, the phone is "splash proof", which probably means something like an IPX4 rating, probably IP54. The available colors are Sleek Black and Titanium Grey. The Hot 60i features a 6.78-inch, 120Hz, Full HD+ IPS LCD display on the front, with an advertised brightness of 800 nits. The chipset is a MediaTek Helio G81 Ultimate, accompanied by 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of storage – probably non-expandable, since there are two slots on the card tray for two Nano-SIM cards. The Hot 60i is a dual-SIM 4G device. Local connectivity is handled by dual-band Wi-Fi AC and Bluetooth 5.0, with onboard NFC and a 3.5mm audio jack. The fingerprint reader is side-mounted, and the specs sheet lists a Light sensor, Proximity sensor, Accelerometer, Compass and Gyroscope. In terms of cameras, the Hot 60i is listed as having a 50MP, f/1.8 main camera with FullHD video capture. There is reportedly a second 2MP camera. We aren't sure what the third module on the camera island is. There is a single 8MP, f/2.0 selfie camera. A rather large 5,160 mAh battery is keeping the light on. It has 45W charging support. The store offers two variants of the Hot 60i – 6GB/128GB for BDT 13,999 (€98/$115) and 8GB/256GB for BDT 16,499 (€115/$135). Source

Samsung's new 'Monster' phone is the old 'Monster' phone in a sleeker body

Samsung is bringing yet another mid-range smartphone to one of its biggest markets, India. The Galaxy M36 is the sequel to the last year's Galaxy M35, a device that Samsung has decided to advertise as the 'Monster' phone. At the time Galaxy M35 made its debut in India, a 6,000 mAh battery was enough to use the word 'monster' when referring to the mid-range device. These days more companies put 6,000 or even higher batteries onto their phones, so it will most likely become the norm next year. What's interesting about the Galaxy M36 is that even though Samsung continues to call everything related to it 'monster,' the phone actually comes with a much smaller battery than the predecessor. Samsung Galaxy M36 has a smaller battery than its predecessor | Image credit: Samsung We're not sure why Samsung decided to remove one of the phone's main selling points, but now that it's done, Galaxy M36 is 15 percent slimmer than its predecessor. That's a pretty important change if you're looking for a thinner phone. According to Samsung, the Galaxy M36 is 7.7mm sleek, a fairly low number compared to Galaxy M35's 9.1mm chassis. Specs-wise, there's one more difference between the two phones that's worth mentioning. The Galaxy M35 has a 6.6-inch display, whereas the Galaxy M36 is expected to sport a slightly larger 6.7-inch size difference of the display is completely negligible, but what's really noticeable is the fact that Samsung has decided to replace the Galaxy M35's punch hole with a rather unfashionable waterdrop notch. This is certainly a choice. The camera island also looks a bit different in comparison with the Galaxy M35's, but nothing really game-changing. Besides that, the Galaxy M35 and M36 are virtually the same. Both phones use similar chipsets, camera systems, amount of memory and display type. Samsung Galaxy M36 specs at first glance : Display : 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, 120 Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Victus+ : 6.7-inch Super AMOLED, 120 Hz refresh rate, Corning Gorilla Victus+ Chipset : Exynos 1380 : Exynos 1380 Memory : 6/8 GB : 6/8 GB Storage : 128/256 GB : 128/256 GB Main camera : 50 MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro : 50 MP main + 8MP ultra-wide + 2MP macro Front camera : 13MP : 13MP Battery : 5,000 mAh, 25W wired charging support Samsung has already confirmed that the Galaxy M36 comes in three colors: Velvet Black, Serene Green, and Orange Haze. Open sales will kick off in India on July 12 via Samsung's website and Amazon. The cheapest model costs Rs 22,999 ($270 / €230) and comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. For a limited time, Samsung offers customers a massive discount that brings the price down to just Rs 16,499 ($195 / €165).It's strange to see a phone like Galaxy M36 being pushed into an already very competitive mid-range segment with nothing to make it stand out. Not to mention that it directly competes with the Galaxy M35, which feels like the better device due to the bigger battery and lower price. Perhaps Samsung plans to retire the Galaxy M35 and replace it with the new model, in which case now would be a good time to snag one if you're in the market for a mid-ranger with a huge battery.
