Anker issues another recall for multiple power banks that pose fire safety risk
Anker has issued its second recall this month for several power bank models sold around the world, as MacRumors has reported. If you'll recall, its previous recall that launched earlier this month focused on the Anker PowerCore 10000 power bank model A1263, which were sold between June 1, 2016 and December 31st, 2022 in the United States. The company found that the lithium-ion battery it used for the model has a risk of overheating that could then lead to the power bank melting, producing smoke and, ultimately, catching fire. Now, Anker has issued a global recall for multiple products sold in several markets around the world. Those products are the Anker Power Bank (10K, 22.5W) Model A1257, Anker Power Bank (20,000mAh, 22.5W, Built-In USB-C Cable) Model A1647, Anker MagGo Power Bank (10,000mAh, 7.5W) Model A1652, Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C and Lightning Cable) Model A1681 and Anker Zolo Power Bank (20K, 30W, Built-In USB-C Cable) Model A1689. The company said that it implemented a series of enhanced quality assurance protocols earlier this year, all of which were designed to detect manufacturing issues. It found that those particular models use lithium-ion battery cells from a single vendor, which are at risk of overheating and causing fire. The company said that the chances of malfunction are minimal, but it launched the recall out of an abundance of caution anyway and is advising customers to stop using affected models. You can check if your device is affected on the recall's official page where you can enter its serial number. A proof of purchase will be required to be qualified for the program, but if you can provide the requirements needed, you can choose between a replacement or a gift card that you can use on Anker's website. How Long Will It Take Your iPhone to Fully Charge? iOS 26 Will Tell You

And since all the attention has been on the Liquid Glass UI, some interesting updates to Battery Settings went largely unnoticed. As MacRumors reports, Apple redesigned the Battery Settings page in iOS 26 to offer improved battery usage statistics and a new feature to extend battery life. Now, when you enter Battery Settings, you are no longer greeted with options to enable Battery Percentage and Low Power Mode. You'll instead see your current battery percentage at the top. If you have plugged in your iPhone to charge, the same menu will show the time required to charge your battery to full. Based on the images shared by MacRumors, the screen auto-lock feature has also shifted from Display & Brightness to Battery. Next are battery usage statistics. In a move away from iOS 18, Apple will now display weekly numbers instead of 24-hour and 10-day numbers. At first glance, the chart looks similar to what you see on Instagram. You can also tap on each of the previous seven days to see how much battery was consumed each day, MacRumors says. The daily stat will show when you charged your iPhone and for how long. Apple has retained the Battery Health section, which displays information about your charge cycles, maximum battery capacity, and optimized charging limit. However, it has introduced a 'Power Mode' section, which houses the Low Power Mode setting previously located on the front page and a new Adaptive Power Mode. When enabled, Adaptive Power Mode will let your iPhone make subtle performance adjustments to extend battery life, such as reducing screen brightness or slowing down some activities. Android's Adaptive Battery feature pretty much does the same thing. All of iOS 26's features will be made available to developers this week. If you are eager to check out the features, you can install a public beta next month or wait for a stable release this fall.

A quiet hint just made the AirPods Pro 3 feel very real
A couple of weeks ago, a hint found in iOS 26 code referenced the AirPods Pro 3. Now, another little hint found about them has surfaced, in a database. Apparently, the folks at MacRumors have discovered a new Bluetooth ID in an Apple database related to device syncing. It's possible this Bluetooth ID is referencing the AirPods Pro 3. The earbuds are expected to potentially be unveiled in the fall or towards the end of this year. Apple is quite good with keeping things under wraps and preventing leaks. However, even the Cupertino tech giant can make a mistake, one referencing the AirPods Pro 3 directly in the beta code of iOS 26, and another stating "AirPods Pro 2 or later" (from a software update text). Now, this Bluetooth ID has appeared in an undisclosed codebase. Reportedly, the codebase was updated and would normally contain a list of Bluetooth IDs for accessories like AirPods and headphones by Beats. Well, there's now this one extra value that was added with the latest it doesn't correspond to a known product. The identifier, 8239, is currently not associated with any existing products, so it's likely that it is referencing the unannounced AirPods Pro 3 . The AirPods Pro 2 are 0x2024 (8228). It's possible the new premium earbuds to launch in late 2025, but some sources claim 2026, which seems less likely at this point. The AirPods Pro 2 are very capable and offer premium sound and convenience without many tradeoffs, as we found in our review. They offer great sound and Spatial Audio, amazing active noise cancellation, and are generally ideal for iPhone users. I'll be personally very excited to learn what improvements the AirPods Pro 3 would bring to the table to an already quite amazing product.
