Sitaare Zameen Par box office day 6: Aamir Khan's film eyes ₹100 crore mark
Sitaare Zameen Par box office day 6: Aamir Khan's latest release, Sitaare Zameen Par, continues to shine at the box office. After a strong opening weekend driven by positive word of mouth, the film witnessed the expected Monday slump—but it has held steady since, setting its sights firmly on the ₹100 crore milestone. Sitaare Zameen Par: Box office performance Day 6 Released on Friday, June 20, the film had a solid opening with ₹10.7 crore on day one. It gained strong momentum over the weekend: Saturday: ₹20.2 crore (up 88.79% from Friday) Sunday: ₹27.25 crore (up 34.90% from Saturday) However, as with many films, Sitaare Zameen Par faced a noticeable dip on weekdays: This brings the total domestic collection to ₹77.46 crore (net) across all languages. Sitaare Zameen Par: Occupancy and reach On Wednesday, June 26, the film reported the following average occupancy rates: Hindi: 11.37% Tamil: 16.46% Telugu: 14.74% Despite being a niche film, Sitaare Zameen Par has managed to pull in decent footfall across regional markets, thanks to its emotional appeal and strong performances. Aamir Khan vs the OTT wave With its theatrical-only release, Sitaare Zameen Par also stands in contrast to other recent Bollywood films opting for hybrid or direct-to-digital releases. It has already outperformed Karan Sharma's Bhool Chuk Maaf, a romantic comedy featuring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi that took the OTT-first route via Maddock Films. Aamir Khan, who has been vocal about preserving the theatrical experience, seems to be reaping the rewards of his stance with this box office success. Sitaare Zameen Par: About the film Directed by R.S. Prasanna, Sitaare Zameen Par is a heartwarming sports comedy-drama produced by Aamir Khan Productions. The film stars Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles, alongside Brijendra Kala and Dolly Ahluwalia. Unlike Khan's previous commercial blockbusters like Ghajini or Dangal, this film tackles emotional and social themes, yet has still managed to carve out a strong position in the post-pandemic box office landscape.

Sitaare Zameen Par box office collection day 5: Aamir Khan's film surpasses Bhool Chuk Maaf and hits Rs 75 crore; no-streaming stand pays off
Aamir Khan's firm stand to not release his new film, RS Prasanna's coming-of-age sports comedy Sitaare Zameen Par, on streaming has paid off. The actor, who hasn't sold the streaming rights of the film to any platform yet, claimed that he would decide on its home video release only after it finishes its theatrical run. He added the film wouldn't come on a streaming platform at least until a year. Sitaare Zameen Par continues to hold strong at the domestic box office even during weekdays. On Tuesday, its fifth day since release on June 20, it earned Rs 8.5 crore, which is as much as how much it earned on Monday. While that saw a massive drop from its Sunday or Saturday earnings of Rs 27.25 crore and Rs 20.2 crore respectively, the film passed the Monday test because the figure that day was only slightly lower than that of its opening day's Rs 10.7 crore. Now, as per industry tracker Sacnilk, the current domestic box office collection of Sitaare Zameen Par stands at Rs 75.15 crore. Two days after it crossed the Rs 50 crore milestone in India, the film has now breached the Rs 75 crore mark too. Given its current trajectory, it should enter the Rs 100 crore club this weekend, unless its pace is thwarted majorly by the new competitor on Friday. This Friday, on June 27, Vishal Furia's mythological horror film Maa will be released in cinemas. Starring Kajol and co-produced by Ajay Devgn, it comes from the world of Vikas Bahl's hit Shaitaan from last year, which earned Rs 147.97 crore at the domestic box office. Sitaare Zameen Par has also surpassed the lifetime domestic box office collection of Karan Sharma's romantic comedy Bhool Chuk Maaf, starring Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi. It's an interesting comparison because producer Dinesh Vijan of Maddock Films opted for a polar opposite strategy than Aamir to release his film. On the eve of its initial theatrical release, Vijan announced that Bhool Chuk Maaf would now skip the cinemas and premiere directly on Prime Video India the following week. After leading multiplex chain PVR INOX sued Maddock Films, it was agreed that the film would first release in cinemas, but that would be followed by its streaming release in just two weeks. Also Read — Sitaare Zameen Par movie review: Aamir Khan delivers fully committed performance in heart-winning comedy While this was a one-off exception, Aamir has been insisting that even the norm of an eight-week window between theatrical and streaming releases is quite short. He even claimed that his last year's production, Kiran Rao's coming-of-age film Laapataa Ladies, would've earned Rs 100 crore if the audience didn't know it's dropping on Netflix soon. The film, featuring mostly newcomers, earned only Rs 20 crore at the domestic box office.

Taking to her Instagram stories, Patralekhaa shared a song video and 'Those moves @rajkummar_rao." Reacting to the post, the actor wrote, 'Love'. Directed by Karan Sharma, the feel-good rom-com features a stellar ensemble cast alongside Rajkummar Rao and Wamiqa Gabbi, including Seema Pahwa, Sanjay Mishra, Zakir Hussain, Raghubir Yadav, and Jay Thakkar. Recently, in an interview with News18, Rajkummar had told us that he found BCM's concept unique. 'The way Karan has written the whole story, keeping this time loop in it, the comedy in it, the characters' arch, and in the end, there's a very beautiful social commentary also that we are making. So, it just came together very nicely for me," he shared. After lighting up the big screens, Bhool Chuk Maaf is expected to drop on Amazon Prime Video just two weeks after its theatrical release. A part of News18's review of the film read, 'The initial build-up features well-crafted dialogues, humour, and convincing performances by Rao and Gabbi (who plays Titli). Rao's impeccable delivery of one-liners, with the perfect accent and timing, is particularly entertaining. Debutant director Karan Sharma dedicates most of the first half to establishing the loop, though the script could have benefited from more depth there. Having said that, the songs enhance the beauty of the film's setting and the picturisation of Banaras is something that will break the stereotype associated with the place." Maddock Films took to Instagram to celebrate the heartwarming response Bhool Chuk Maaf received on day one. 'They didn't just come to watch – they came to feel, laugh, cry, and celebrate together," the post read. They added, 'Families across the country are giving their hearts to this one." First Published:
