Gaza Civil Defense: 70 Martyred in strikes on 25 homes, five civilian gatherings

Gaza – Saba: The Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip confirmed on Tuesday evening that 70 citizens have been martyred in Gaza City since dawn following direct strikes on more than 25 homes, in addition to five gatherings of civilians. Spokesman for the General Directorate of Civil Defense in Gaza, Mahmoud Basal, stated that the attacks led to the martyrdom of approximately 70 people, including 11 who were gathered awaiting aid, 12 children, and 14 women, in addition to more than 200 injured—some of them in critical condition. He noted that rescue teams are still working to save and recover individuals from the Abu Samra family's home, which was targeted this afternoon on Kashko Street in the Zeitoun neighborhood, east of Gaza City. Over 30 citizens are believed to still be under the rubble of the six-story targeted building. Basal added that more than 25 people, both alive and martyred, remain trapped under the rubble of a house belonging to the Dahdar family near Al-Joulani Mosque in the Tuffah neighborhood, also east of Gaza City, after the home was struck this afternoon by the Zionist occupation forces. He confirmed that rescue teams have not been able to reach the area due to repeated Israeli bombardments. The Zionist enemy continues its brutal assault on civilians in Gaza for the 634th consecutive day—carrying out some of the most horrific massacres of the modern era in full view of a world that remains silent and complicit in the suffering of the Palestinian people. At least 51 killed in 'Israeli' fire near Gaza aid centers: Gaza Civil Defense

The Gaza Civil Defense announced that 51 people were killed since early Tuesday by 'Israeli' army fire, with most casualties occurring near two aid distribution centers in the devastated central and southern parts of Gaza. Civil Defense spokesperson Mahmoud Basal told AFP that rescue teams transported at least 25 bodies and dozens of injured, including children, to Nasser Hospital in Khan Younis, following gunfire and tank shelling by 'Israeli' forces in western Rafah. 'Israeli' forces targeted groups of civilians near the Al-Alam and Al-Shakoush areas in western Rafah as they waited to access an aid center in northwest Rafah, Basal added. He explained that 'Israeli' soldiers opened fire from a military position as thousands of people approached the Al-Shakoush area, about two kilometers from the Rafah aid center. Earlier, Basal said the Civil Defense had transferred at least 21 bodies and over 150 wounded after 'Israeli' troops fired and shelled thousands of civilians near an American aid center between the Al-Shuhada junction (Nitsarim) and Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza. Victims were taken to Al-Awda Hospital in the Nuseirat refugee camp. The 'Israeli' army said it had detected a gathering of civilians near its forces operating in the Nitsarim corridor in central Gaza. It confirmed receiving reports of casualties from 'Israeli army fire in the area,' with details under review. Al-Awda Hospital confirmed receiving at least 21 bodies and around 150 injured, including 62 critical cases caused by Israeli fire near Wadi Gaza Bridge in central Gaza. Eyewitnesses reported that at approximately 1:45 AM Jerusalem time, thousands of Palestinians gathered near the Netzarim Corridor, just hundreds of meters from an aid distribution center. Eyewitness Rabhi Al-Qassas said, 'We were almost 50,000 people. The Israelis deceived us, made us enter the food distribution point, then opened fire randomly. The wounded and dead are lying in the streets for the sake of a meal.' He questioned, 'How long will this continue? When will these victims get a solution?' Another witness confirmed that Israeli forces fired bullets and multiple artillery shells, while 'Israeli' drones fired on thousands of civilians waiting for aid near the Netzarim Corridor close to Wadi Gaza Bridge, resulting in deaths and injuries. Basal also reported the transfer of five bodies and several wounded from an Israeli airstrike that targeted a house early Tuesday in the Al-Sabra neighborhood, southern Gaza City. Victims were taken to Al-Shifa Hospital in Gaza City. The war in Gaza erupted after an unprecedented attack by Hamas on Israel on October 7, 2023, which killed 1,219 people, mostly civilians, according to an AFP tally based on Israeli official figures. Since then, 'Israel' has launched a devastating war killing 56,077 people in Gaza, mostly civilians, according to the latest count from the Hamas-run Ministry of Health.

Israeli Forces Kill 70 Palestinians in Gaza, Injuring Many

Israeli military forces killed at least 70 Palestinians with gunfire and military strikes in Gaza on Thursday, June 19, according to Gaza's civil defence spokesman, Mahmoud Basal. Earlier, medics reported the killing of 12 Palestinians who were seeking aid from the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation centre in central Gaza. Dozens of Palestinians were also killed in separate Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza, according to medics. At least 12 people, including children and women, were killed in a strike near a mosque in Al Shati refugee camp. Another eight civilians were killed in shelling on Gaza City on Thursday, according to the Wafa news agency. Five of those individuals were killed in an attack on a house in the Zeitoun neighbourhood and the remaining three were killed in an attack in the west of the city. Israeli forces also blew up homes in the east of Jabalia Al Balad in northern Gaza, Wafa reported. The agency also reported the injuring of 100 other Plaestinians when Israeli drones and military vehicles opened fire on Thursday morning at an aid center in central Gaza. At least 338 Palestinians have been killed by Israel while gathering to collect aid from GHF aid centers, according to a tally released by local health authorities on Monday, June 16. The death toll for Palestinians killed during Israel's war on Gaza has passed 55,700 and the number of injured Palestinians has rose over 130,100, according to the health ministry on Thursday. 'Lame and lethal' aid system claims dozen more lives in Gaza

At least 70 people were killed by Israeli gunfire and military strikes in Gaza on Thursday, the enclave's civil defence spokesman Mahmoud Basal said. Medics earlier reported that 12 people had been killed while trying to approach an aid site operated by the US-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation in the central Gaza Strip. The system has been described by a top UN official as 'lame, medieval and lethal' following hundreds of deaths in similar incidents over the past few weeks. Dozens of Palestinians were killed in separate Israeli air strikes in the northern Gaza Strip, medics added. One of those strikes killed at least 12 people, including women and children, near a mosque in the Shati refugee camp in Gaza city, they added. Another eight civilians were killed in Israeli shelling of Gaza city on Thursday, Wafa news agency said. Five of those were killed in an attack on a house in the Zeitoun neighbourhood, and three others when an apartment in the west of the city was hit. Israeli forces also blew up homes east of Jabalia Al Balad in northern Gaza, the agency reported. There was no immediate comment from the Israeli army on Thursday's incidents. In recent days it said it was reviewing reports of civilian casualties. About 100 other people were injured when Israeli drones and military vehicles opened fire in the morning near an aid distribution point in central Gaza, the official Palestinian news agency Wafa reported. At least 338 people have been killed in total while gathering to collect aid from the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF), according to a tally released by local health authorities on Monday. The recently created US and Israel-backed agency, whose four distribution centres are guarded by private security contractors and surrounded by Israeli forces, began operations in late May to supersede the aid delivery system operated by the UN. Israel said the move prevents the militant group Hamas from taking aid intended for civilians. The centres are regularly overrun by Gazans desperate for food after a nearly three-month total blockade of aid deliveries imposed by Israel in March. Crowds start gathering near the distribution sites before dawn, despite a warning from the Israeli military that these areas are considered combat zones between 6pm and 6am. "Palestinian lives have been so devalued. It is now the routine to shoot and kill desperate and starving people while they try to collect little food from a company made of mercenaries," Philippe Lazzarini, head of the UN agency for Palestinian refugees, UNRWA, said in a post on X after at least 14 people were killed while waiting for aid on Wednesday. He described GHF as "a lame, medieval and lethal system that is deliberately harming people under the camouflage of 'humanitarian aid'". Dozens killed waiting for aid in Khan Younis "Hundreds of people have been reported killed since the 'Gaza Humiliation Foundation' started operating just over three weeks ago," he said, describing the group's operations as "a lame, medieval and lethal system that is deliberately harming people under the camouflage of 'humanitarian aid'". He called for those responsible for establishing the new system to be held accountable, saying: "Inviting starving people to their death is a war crime." The Palestinian death toll from Israel's war in Gaza passed 55,700 the health ministry said on Thursday and the number injured rose to more than 130,100. The ministry's figures do not distinguish between combatants and civilians, although it says the majority of victims have been women and children. The war began on October 7, 2023, with a Hamas attack on southern Israel in which about 1,200 people, mostly civilians, were killed and about 250 taken hostage.

Gaza carnage: Israel kills 53 civilians as hospitals near shutdown

Shafaq News/ At least 53 Palestinians were killed in Israeli airstrikes across Gaza since dawn, as famine, mass displacement, and relentless bombardment push the territory deeper into collapse, the Palestinian Information Center reported on Wednesday. Gaza's Civil Defence confirmed 31 deaths and 200 injuries in a single strike involving tank fire and drones at a central aid distribution point in the Netzarim corridor. Spokesman Mahmoud Basal described the attack as part of an ongoing assault on areas where civilians seek food and aid. جيش الاحتلال يرتكب افضع المجازر بحق الأهالي في محيط محور "نتساريم" وسط قطاع غزة أثناء انتظارهم الحصول على المساعدات الأمريكية. — المركز الفلسطيني للإعلام (@PalinfoAr) June 11, 2025 Since the war began on October 7, 2023, more than 54,980 Palestinians—mostly women and children—have been killed and over 126,900 injured, according to Gaza's Health Ministry. Despite international appeals, Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich maintained his refusal to allow aid into Gaza, pushing for continued military pressure to dismantle Hamas and dismissing hostage deal discussions.
