Murder investigation after pregnant woman found dead in Co Down

A murder investigation has been launched after a pregnant woman was found dead in Co Down, police said. The Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) has named her as Sarah Montgomery, 27, a mother of two. A 28-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody. Detective Chief Inspector Tom Phillips said that police received a report at about 2.15pm on Saturday of an unconscious woman with a serious injury inside a house in the Elmfield Walk area of Donaghadee. 'Enough is enough': MSP says death of East Kilbride teen 'has stunned Scotland' as local politicians pay tribute

Monica Lennon MSP said "enough is enough" as she paid tribute to tragic East Kilbride teenager Kayden Moy. The 16-year-old was found wounded at Irvine Beach on Saturday night and was rushed to Crosshouse Hospital but died on Sunday morning - a "heartbreaking tragedy" the politician said "will stun East Kilbride and Scotland". The Central Scotland Labour MSP was among local politicians who paid tributes online following the shock death. Emergency services were called to the beauty spot in Ayrshire on Saturday evening after receiving reports of a seriously injured youth. Sadly 16-year-old Kayden Moy died in Crosshouse Hospital on Sunday, May 18. A 17-year-old male has now been arrested following the incident as the investigation continues. Kayden's devastated dad Paul Moy led heartbreaking tributes to the youngster yesterday saying: "My first born son, my big boy, my best friend, my main man, my everything, rest easy my boy." Commenting on the tragedy, Ms Lennon said: "It's devastating that 16-year-old Kayden Moy went to the beach and never came home, robbed of his life and future. "I extend my sincere condolences to Kayden's heartbroken family and friends. This heartbreaking tragedy will stun East Kilbride and Scotland. Enough is enough." MSP for East Kilbride Collette Stevenson posted: "This is absolutely tragic. My heart goes out to Kayden's family and friends. Police are appealing for witnesses and are carrying out intensive investigations into the incident." A TEENAGER has tragically died after being "stabbed to death" at a Scots beach. Mercy crews raced to Irvine Beach, in North Ayrshire, on Saturday after the alarm was raised around 6:45pm. 1 The 16-year-old, from East Kilbride, was rushed to hospital but could not be saved. He died today and his family are aware. Cops are appealing to anyone who may have mobile phone footage to get in touch. Detectives have also set up a website that gives members of the public access to a form to send information directly to the Major Investigation Team, which can be submitted anonymously. Elsewhere, in a separate incident, a teenager was charged with attempted murder after a lad was allegedly knifed at Edinburgh's Portobello Beach. Armed cops were called at around 7.40pm on Friday following reports of a "large-scale disturbance". It comes as thousands flocked to beaches across the country amid scorching 24C temperatures. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: "Detective Chief Inspector Campbell Jackson, Major Investigations Team, said: 'An extensive investigation is underway to establish the full circumstances surrounding this death. Our officers are supporting the boy's family at this very difficult and heartbreaking time. 'From our investigation so far, we know there were a number of people on the beach around the time of the disturbance. We believe several of them were filming at the time and may have footage of what happened. 'I would urge people to review the footage they have and contact police if they think the footage captured could be of significance to our investigation.' A woman was found injured near the scene of a murder in Glasgow, where a man was 'slashed and stabbed' to death. Emergency services were called to the property on Caldwell Avenue in the Knightswood area of the city around 3.35pm on Monday following reports of concern for a person. Josh Taplin was discovered dead inside, and detectives are treating the 28-year-old's death as murder. It is understood that he was slashed and stabbed before his death. A woman was also found with injuries in the Caldwell Avenue area around the time of the murder. She was taken to hospital and released following treatment. STV News The young boxer was discovered dead inside his home. Police are said to be following a positive line of enquiry in relation to the murder probe. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: 'A 41-year-old woman was found with injuries in the Caldwell Avenue area of Glasgow and was taken to hospital. 'She was later released following treatment.'
