CM, PA Speaker discuss political situation

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif met Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan in which matters pertaining to overall political and administrative situation of the province were discussed. Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan paid tribute to the Chief Minister for the establishment of PERA in order to combat inflation, hoarding, profiteering, encroachments and land grabbing mafia. Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan also appreciated effective steps being taken by the Punjab government to provide prompt relief activities during the monsoon spell. The Chief Minister while talking to the Speaker Punjab Assembly outlined that the establishment of an institution like PERA will provide maximum amount of relief to the common man. She underscored, 'The welfare of every person in Punjab is my foremost priority and this vision is the cornerstone of every major decision being taken by the Punjab government. Access to the provision of basic facilities for the people of Punjab is my strong commitment.' Speaker Punjab Assembly lauded that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif is serving the people above politics and people belonging to every segment of society are fully satisfied with the performance of the Punjab government. Suspended MPAs to cast Senate votes

The 26 Punjab Assembly lawmakers from the PTI who were suspended by the provincial assembly speaker on June 27 have been formally allowed to cast their votes in the upcoming Senate elections. Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan suspended these MPAs for creating "disruption, ruckus and chanting indecent slogans" during the speech of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz in the house—under rule 210 (3) of the Rules of Procedure, Provincial Assembly of the Punjab, 1997. The speaker on Tuesday issued a press release clarifying that members suspended under Rule 210 of the Rules of Procedure 1997 would be entitled to vote in the said election. "An office memorandum in this regard is being issued," it said. It also announced that the voting for Senate elections will be held on July 21, 2025 in the Punjab Assembly. The speaker suspended Malik Fahad Masood (PP-13), Tanveer Aslam (PP-19), Syed Riffat Mehmood (PP-24) Yasir Mehmood Qureshi (PP-25), Kaleem Ullah Khan (PP-60), Muhammad Ansar Iqbal (PP-73), Ali Asif (PP-75), Zulifqar Ali (PP-76), Ahmad Mujtaba Chaudhary (PP-99) and Shahid Javed (PP-115). Muhammad Ismael (PP-116), Khayal Ahmad (PP-118), Shahbaz Ahmad (PP-130), Tayyab Rashid (PP-141), Imtiaz Mehmood (PP-155), Ali Imtiaz (PP-156), Rashid Tufail (PP-175), Rai Muhmmad Murtaza Iqbal (PP-203), Khalid Zubair Nisar (PP-231), Ch Muhamad Ejaz Shafi (PP-258), Samia Kanwal (PP-260), Muhammad Naeem (PP-263), Sajjad Ahmad (PP-265), Rana Aourang Zaib (PP-276), Shuaib Ameer (PP-281) and Usama Asghar Ali Gujjar (PP-282) were also among those suspended on June 27.

Vocational university to be built near Kasur

Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan announced on Monday that a vocational university would be established in Khudian Khas in Kasur district. Inaugurating a hospital in Khudian, he said Rs10 billion had been allocated for the educational project. The speaker said latest vocational education would by offered in the university in science, technology and engineering. He said people of the area would be provided modern medical facilities in the new hospital. The speaker announced that a motorway would pass through the area soon, adding that steps had also been taken to establish a boys degree college.

LAHORE: Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan has said that Pakistan's Air Force, Army and Navy have taught India a historic lesson and Pakistan's Armed Forces have made the nation proud in front of the world in a brilliant manner. The PA Speaker said that Pakistan played role of frontline state in the war against terrorism. 'In the war against terrorism, the army and people of Pakistan sacrificed more than 90,000 lives and suffered billions of dollars in losses, so how can India accuse Pakistan of terrorism?', he questioned. He said that by making allegations without evidence, India attacked our sovereignty in the dark of night and unilaterally blocked Pakistan's water. He said that Pakistan has demonstrated its skills and courage before the world. He said that today's era is the most proud in my life. He said that the current era is the era of technological superiority, and technology played an important role in the recent Indo-Pak war. He said that the narrative created by our youth in the Indo-Pak war was recognized by the world. He said that there was no technology in the school education system during our era. He said that learning skills with technology is a sign of our survival and progress. He said that laws are also to be made to regulate artificial intelligence, but there is no such expert in the assembly. He said that an agreement is being made with a university to teach artificial intelligence to members of the assembly so that the members of the assembly who make laws gain skills. He hoped that the best working papers will come out in the three-day international conference. Vice chancellor Punjab University Prof Dr Muhammad Ali said that we are proud of courage and wisdom with which Pakistan Army has fought Indian aggression. He said that we pay tribute to the army and political leadership for the use of best strategy and technology. He said that we are grateful to Allah Almighty who has bestowed us with a clear victory. Network of uplift projects laid across Punjab: CM

LAHORE: Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif said on Monday that a network of development projects has been laid across Punjab and the government is working on important sectors comprising health, education, infrastructure and environmental pollution. She said this during a meeting with the Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan in which Members Punjab Assembly Sardar Muhammad Asim Sher Maken and Khurram Khan Virk were also present. Matters pertaining to mutual interest, political situation, public welfare projects along with national as well as political affairs, budget and development projects were discussed in the meeting. The Chief Minister said, 'History bears witness that whenever PML-N government comes into power, all the problems and grievances of the people are redressed promptly.' She vowed, 'The journey of providing public service will be further accelerated across the province.' The CM said the price of bread in the entire province is lower as compared to other provinces. The incumbent government is resolving the problems of farmers on a priority basis, she added. The Chief Minister appreciated Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan for conducting affairs of the Punjab Assembly in a nice manner. The Speaker Punjab Assembly congratulated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif for building a record number of houses under 'Apni Chhat, Apni Ghar' program. He appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's initiatives for granting 'Honhaar' scholarships and laptops to the talented students across Punjab. Member Punjab Assembly Sardar Muhammad Asim Sher Maken appreciated Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif's vision of launching Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology project. He paid tribute to her for launching record development projects in a short span of time in the province. He acknowledged that Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology project being launched in Sargodha is an example of its own. Khurram Khan Virk MPA extolled that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif by launching record development projects in the province has refreshed the memories of Quaid PML-N Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Shahbaz Sharif.
