Pete Wicks makes heartbreaking confession as he says 'I've never been so lonely'
Pete Wicks has made a heartbreaking confession, admitting he's "never been so lonely". He opened up about one of his toughest times speaking on his Man Made podcast Everyone goes through tough times sometimes, and Pete Wicks recently made a heartbreaking confession about how he's struggled with loneliness. The former Strictly Come Dancing star and TV personality recently opened up about his experience on his Man Made podcast, where he talked about one of the toughest periods of his life. Pete, 37, got very candid about his feelings after losing his grandmother, as he admitted it changed his life in so many ways. During the tough time, he said he's "never been so lonely", as he had to learn to try and navigate his grief following the tragic loss of his "best friend". In a clip shared on Instagram, he said: "I was really blessed and lucky to have had my nan for such a long time, and I've never felt so lonely and lost after she was gone, and I think that was the point where I thought f***, because she was always my safety net. "I was fortunate enough to have someone there who was a safety net to me and it wasn't until, you know, I hit 35-years-old that I thought f***. I used to speak to her every day, she was my best friend. "If I'd have got married while she was still here, she would have been my best man. Point blank." Former The Only Way Is Essex star Pete lost his beloved grandmother in 2022. When he appeared on Strictly back in 2024, he admitted he thinks she would have loved to have seen him compete in the Latin and ballroom BBC show. Pete's nan Doreen helped to bring Pete up in Harlow after his parents separated. She's said to have been a huge support to him, as his mother struggled with her mental health when he was growing up. During his time competing in the dance show, he told the High Performance podcast: "She would have loved it. I don't think she ever imagined that I'd be doing ballroom dancing on a Saturday night. "Hopefully there's one song that we might be doing which is very, very special to me at some point, if I'm in long enough, which is going to be a bit of a tribute to her." After he opened up about their close relationship on Man Made, many fans reached out to offer support. Some also praised him for speaking about his feelings and struggle so candidly. One said: "Listening to you talk about your nan is like listening to me talk about mine - mine was taken way too soon, but was blessed with her for 23 years of my life. Miss her every day." Another added: "As someone who has only one grandparent left (unfortunately she has dementia), I can really empathise your pain, Pete." A third replied: "I know what you mean, I was the same with my mum, and completely lost since she's passed." Meanwhile, a fourth also commented: "Your nan is looking down smiling at you @p_wicks01. This was like me and my mum." One more also added: "Aww, every time you talk about her I miss my grandma Mary. She was my best friend. My second mum." 'It's often quite scary but you quickly adapt to that, children do. 'I assumed in a relationship when you loved someone, you shouted basically. 'That's how I communicate, I'm angry, I'm loud and I never thought it was toxic. It was what I assumed you did.' However, former Geordie Shore star Vicky said everything changed when she had a 'little row' with her then-boyfriend six months into their relationship. She continued: 'Honeymoon period's over. 'I remember we had this little row and I instantly escalated it because that's what I did.' Vicky said that the sentence that Ercan said to her made her rethink her behaviour in relationships. Vicky and Ercan have been together since 2019, and he popped the question in 2022, with the pair tying the knot in Italy in 2024. "I mean it has been difficult, I have been frustrated, I have been upset and I have been overwhelmed quite a lot. Aged just 17, the star has told Pete Wicks about the horrific ordeal in which he was beaten by three men. Appearing on Pete Wicks' new podcast Man Made, Tom said about the 'random attack': "I got held by three guys, bear hugged, so I couldn't move and just kept getting pounded in my face. "I was there, couldn't move whilst taking the punches and I think that - well, 17, just turning 18 and that flipped life on its head, where it demasculated me, do you know what I mean? Whatever that word is. "I was like, you've completely ripped out every little bit of confidence, every little bit of me, I wasn't me anymore. From that little moment, completely has changed my whole life. "I had to rebuild everything and I think that's obviously where my anxiety came from, the beginning of it." The Little Bit Of Love singer added: "I think understanding of who I was, more than being a man. It was more just like, who am I? What have I got to do now to be better or just be me again?" He told Strictly star Pete: "Mate, I couldn't leave the house. The thoughts, man. I was like if I'm not me, then f**k it." The singer, who suffers from anxiety, said: "I've still got it, mate. If I was sticking it on the geezer or if I was annoying him or if I was being loud and if I was antagonising him, I'd have had a better understanding of because I probably deserved it. "I thought, oh my God everybody loves me, I'm good, life is sweet, and then that happened. Then I thought, my God, everybody hates me. I lost a year of being at home, I was just at home.
