Two from Maharashtra among toppers in CA final exam
As the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) declared the results of CA final examination, two from Maharashtra–Rajan Kabra from Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar and Manav Shah from Mumbai–made it to top three ranks, nationally. Rajan, ranked first, was expecting to be among the top 50 rankers. 'But it is definitely a surprise to top the result nationally,' he said. Son of a CA, Rajan was always interested in pursuing CA for career. His determination was such that he completed graduation through distance mode to focus on CA studies. 'Apart from studies, I have been actively participating in various extracurricular activities conducted by the ICAI such as public speaking, debate, quiz competitions among others,' said Rajan while adding that not many people are aware of these opportunities provided by ICAI. It was Rajan's first attempt. He is currently completing his articleship in a company located in Mumbai and stays in Andheri. He plans to complete the articleship before taking decision about his future plans. After studying for long hours Rajan would take break to read to unwind. Manav, who ranks third nationally, is a resident of Ghatkopar in Mumbai. He took inspiration to pursue CA from his elder brother who is a practicing CA now. 'He became CA when I had just begun first year of my graduation. Then I too started preparation for CA,' said Manav, a former student from N M College in Vile Parle, who completed B Com in academic year 2023-24. It was his first attempt at CA and Manav was confident that he will clear the exam. Manav would play cricket with his friends to unwind from pressure of studies. He still has a few months left for articleship to get over. 'Then I plan to work in the industry for a few years before I take any decision on starting my own practice,' said Manav. A total of 29,286 students appeared for the CA Final exam held in May 2025. And 5,490 cleared the exam, recording a passing percentage of 18.75 percent.

Manav Kaul to direct Bollywood film after 13 years: I'm acting in it too, adapted from my book Sakshatkar
Actor Manav Kaul is set to don the director's hat after 13 years. He exclusively tells us that he has locked locations for his untitled next in Uttarakhand and the shoot starts this November. Manav Kaul is getting back into film direction after 13 years 'The movie is based on my book Sakshatkar (2024). It did well, so I adapted it into a screenplay and set it in the Himalayas. I am acting in the film too, alongside (actors) Kumud Mishra, Manasi Bhawalkar and some theatre artistes. We have finalised a few untouched locations in Kumaon and Garhwal,' says Manav. Will the film be a commercial one or more in the indie space? 'It's set in a fun zone, has good humour and a gripping story that will appeal to a wider audience. I am not fixated on the commercial aspect, as my priority is making a good film. If we deliver a good product, it will definitely find its audience. I believe in the script and will pour my heart and soul in it. Of course, since filmmaking is a business, we would like it to do well commercially,' he says. Last seen in Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper (2024), Manav adds, 'My goal is to create a scenario where I can direct more films with stories I'm passionate about. Through our plays, we have already built an audience. Now, I want to create a space where the audience can enjoy films – dekhte hain, bahut maza ayega! I am changing gear with this. Everyone thinks about business and audience but we are right now just concentrating solely on making a great film. If we do that everything else will fall into place.' Regarding acting projects, he remained tight-lipped: 'There are things in the pipeline, but I can't talk about them yet.'

There were reports the actress in question was Shah Rukh Khan's 'Baazigar' co-star Resham Tipnis. But she has refuted the rumours. Taking to social media, the actress wrote- 'Please ignore this. Somebody is spreading fake news about my son Manav. He is fine and healthy by Bappa's blessings. But whoever has done this is going behind bars. If anyone can help me find them, please comment.' STORY CONTINUES BELOW THIS AD Shilpa Shetty on Baazigar experience 'I had no knowledge about films at that time, and I didn't know how to approach it. I was like a student on set. I used to be very nervous back then. Because I came from a South Indian background, I never spoke in Hindi on the sets. When I did 'Aag', I asked Kader Bhai to teach me Urdu, and that's when I learned from scratch. I used to feel very nervous about dialogue deliveries. But all of it is okay because I am able to convey. People understand what I am trying to say,' she shared. 'Akbar Bhai was the action director for the film, and we shot that scene nearly five times. I had a scar on my hip for nearly 8-10 years of my life because I was asked to wear a harness. Back in those times, we did not have any VFX. So I had to act authentically to show that I was falling and the building was moving. But the makers thought that the scene could be shot better. I have died nearly 15 times,' shared the actress with a hearty laugh.

Indian-origin entrepreneur in UAE pledges ₹6 crore to families of medical students killed in Air India crash
An Indian-origin entrepreneur in UAE has expressed his sorrow over the death of the students who were killed after an Air India flight crashed into a medical college hostel mess moments after taking off from an airport in Ahmedabad. In his post, he pledged to pay ₹6 crore to the families of the students who died in this tragedy. 'They were future frontline heroes. Manav, Aaryan, Rakesh, and Jaiprakash were preparing to save lives, not lose their own. The AI171 crash took them from us. Pledging ₹6 crore to support their families and others affected,' Dr Shamsheer Vayalil, whose X bio says he is an entrepreneur in UAE, shared the post. 'Having lived in medical hostels, the images felt painfully familiar. This gesture is personal. According to the Hindu, Dr Shamsheer Vayalil is the son-in-law of MA Yusuff Ali, the owner of the retail conglomerate LuLu Group International. The four students were among several people who died when the London-bound flight crashed into BJ Medical College building. Among the 242 passengers aboard the plane, only one person survived. 'The passengers comprised 169 Indian nationals, 53 British nationals, 7 Portuguese nationals and 1 Canadian national.
