Two from Maharashtra among toppers in CA final exam
Rajan, ranked first, was expecting to be among the top 50 rankers. 'But it is definitely a surprise to top the result nationally,' he said. Son of a CA, Rajan was always interested in pursuing CA for career. His determination was such that he completed graduation through distance mode to focus on CA studies. 'Apart from studies, I have been actively participating in various extracurricular activities conducted by the ICAI such as public speaking, debate, quiz competitions among others,' said Rajan while adding that not many people are aware of these opportunities provided by ICAI. It was Rajan's first attempt. He is currently completing his articleship in a company located in Mumbai and stays in Andheri. He plans to complete the articleship before taking decision about his future plans. After studying for long hours Rajan would take break to read to unwind.
Manav, who ranks third nationally, is a resident of Ghatkopar in Mumbai. He took inspiration to pursue CA from his elder brother who is a practicing CA now. 'He became CA when I had just begun first year of my graduation. Then I too started preparation for CA,' said Manav, a former student from N M College in Vile Parle, who completed B Com in academic year 2023-24. It was his first attempt at CA and Manav was confident that he will clear the exam. Manav would play cricket with his friends to unwind from pressure of studies. He still has a few months left for articleship to get over. 'Then I plan to work in the industry for a few years before I take any decision on starting my own practice,' said Manav.
A total of 29,286 students appeared for the CA Final exam held in May 2025. And 5,490 cleared the exam, recording a passing percentage of 18.75 percent.

Disha cleared all three levels—Foundation, Intermediate, and Final—in her first attempt. Disha's parents both studied till Class 8. CA Anand Jain, Regional Council Member, said, "ICAI's AI chatbot now helps students identify frequently asked questions using past papers, making preparation more focused.
