Along with his partner, JK Talpade, the senior officer focuses on investigating a potential terrorist attack. Along with his professional life, he must also balance his unsettling family life being a married man and father of two children. Coming to the second season of the show, Srikant Tiwari and his team focused on a mission against Tamil Tigers-esque military resistance from Sri Lanka. The subsequent season showcased Samantha Ruth Prabhu in a key role. Now, after 4 years of waiting, The Family Man is back in action with a new mission. As per the preview showcased at the end of Season 2, the COVID-19 pandemic takes the stage, acting as a link for China to attack the North-Eastern Indian states. How Srikant manages to thwart the country's security threat is likely to form the narrative of the 3rd season. Good news for fans of The Family Man: creators Raj & DK and lead actor Manoj Bajpayee are officially returning with a brand-new season of the hit series. Streaming platform Amazon Prime Video released an official announcement video today, confirming that Season 3 is on its way. The upcoming season will see Manoj Bajpayee reprising his iconic role as Srikant Tiwari, often referred to as the 'James Bond of Chembur.' Joining him once again are key cast members including Priyamani (Suchitra Tiwari), Sharib Hashmi (JK Talpade), Ashlesha Thakur (Dhriti Tiwari), and Vedant Sinha (Atharv Tiwari), among others. Adding to the excitement is the introduction of new characters played by acclaimed actors Jaideep Ahlawat and Nimrat Kaur. Jaideep, known for his role in Paatal Lok, joins the series as a primary antagonist. A brief glimpse of his character was teased in the announcement video. The minute-long video traced the journey of Manoj Bajpayee's Srikant Tiwari from 2019 to 2025, giving a sneak peek into all the action and mayhem that awaits this season. The teaser then gives a glimpse of the action and thrill that awaits this season, with encounters and bomb blasts taking place. Nimrat Kaur makes a brief appearance, but it is Jaideep Ahlawat's presence at the very end that caught the attention of fans. Although his face is covered with a black cloth, fans identified Jaideep because of the intensity of his eyes in just one glimpse. The chatter around Manoj Bajpayee being the first choice for the 2006 film started after Kamlesh Pandey(co-writer of the film) said in an interview with Ravya Sarda that Manoj Bajpayee had signed the film before Aamir came on board. "We had been roaming around with the script of the film for 6 years, and no one was ready to make that film. We had signed Manoj for the role that Aamir played finally. We thought we would make a small film; we didn't have a big budget. The moment Aamir heard the script, he told us that he wanted to do the film, and he even got AR Rahman to come on the project. UTV, who had rejected the film twice in the past, immediately said yes to it," he said during the interview. 'Family Man' actor Manoj Bajpayee has reacted to reports claiming that he was once offered Aamir Khan's role in Bollywood's iconic 2006 movie Rang de Basanti. A media report claimed that the makers of the film waited six years for him to respond before giving away the fan-favourite DJ's role to Aamir. Manoj rejected the claims of being offered Rang de Basanti in place of Aamir Khan. 'Matlab kuch bhi,' he tweeted alongside an emoji. 'Manoj Bajpayee was the first choice for Rang de Basanti, not Aamir Khan,' a Times of India report claimed, citing screenwriter Kamlesh Pandey. Kamlesh reportedly made these claims on Ravya Sarda's YouTube show. 'The film got delayed by 6 years as Manoj didn't respond,' the report further said, claiming that it was originally planned as a small-budget film and faced multiple rejections. Rang De Basanti featured a stellar ensemble cast including Aamir Khan, Siddharth, Soha Ali Khan, R Madhavan, Kunal Kapoor, and Sharman Joshi. Alice Patten, Anupam Kher, Waheeda Rehman, Kirron Kher, and Atul Kulkarni also appeared in the movie directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. Manoj Bajpayee will soon make his OTT comeback as Srikant Tiwari in The Family Man 3.
