Kykle MacLachlan wants Desperate Housewives return
Kyle MacLachlan wants to reprise his role as suspicious husband Orson Hodge in a revival of Desperate Housewives. The Twin Peaks star, who starred in a third series to that classic 1990s show in 2017, has said he is open to appearing in a reboot of creator Marc Cherry's comedy-drama, which ran for eight seasons on ABC from 2004 to 2012. "That'd be fun," MacLachlan told People. "I mean, Wisteria Lane still exists on the Universal back lot. It's part of the tour!" MacLachlan debuted as Bree's (Marcia Cross) love interest and eventual second husband Orson toward the end of Season 2 in 2006, becoming a key character in Season 3 as it delved into the mystery of his first wife's disappearance. An offshoot Desperate Housewives revival series, titled Wisteria Lane, is reportedly in development at Disney, with Kerry Washington involved. MacLahlan said he'd love to appear in the show if asked. "If for Desperate Housewives, if that were to come back - and if they would even want me to come back - I'd have to look at the role and kind of get a sense of what they're thinking about for the character," he added "So I would approach it like if it were something completely new and weigh how I feel about the role, and the character, and the process and everything, you know? I would treat it like it were, you know, something else that had come to me and make my judgment on that."

Kyle MacLachlan Is Open To Reprising ‘Desperate Housewives' Role: 'That'd Be Fun'
With a new group of housewives moving into Wisteria Lane, Kyle MacLachlan is open to returning to the neighborhood. The Desperate Housewives alum recently said he would potentially reprise his role as deadbeat husband Orson Hodge or 'something completely new' in a reboot of the Marc Cherry comedy-drama, which ran for eight seasons on ABC from 2004 to 2012. More from Deadline 'Desperate Housewives' Offshoot 'Wisteria Lane' In Works At Onyx From Kerry Washington & Natalie Chaidez Kyle MacLachlan 'Would Love' To Reprise Trey On 'And Just Like That' After Rejecting Writers' 'First Idea' 2025 Premiere Dates For New & Returning Series On Broadcast, Cable & Streaming 'That'd be fun,' MacLachlan told People. 'I mean, Wisteria Lane still exists on the Universal back lot. It's part of the tour!' MacLachlan debuted as Bree's (Marcia Cross) love interest and eventual second husband Orson toward the end of Season 2 in 2006, becoming a key character in Season 3 regarding the mystery of his first wife's disappearance. 'If for Desperate Housewives, if that were to come back — […] and if they would even want me to come back — I'd have to look at the role and kind of get a sense of what they're thinking about for the character,' he explained. 'So I would approach it like if it were something completely new and weigh how I feel about the role, and the character, and the process and everything, you know?' added MacLachlan. 'I would treat it like it were, you know, something else [new] that had come to me and make my judgment on that.' The Golden Globe winner, who recently passed on reprising his Sex and the City role, explained that he also approached his 2017 return to Twin Peaks as Dale Cooper with a similar method after creator David Lynch 'decided to not really pick it up from where we left off and to create a completely different journey for the character. And I got to do a couple [of] different characters in the reboot.' Following Deadline's exclusive report, Kerry Washington confirmed in May that her Onyx Collective offshoot Wisteria Lane is in development, 'inspired' by Desperate Housewives. Written by Natalie Chaidez, Wisteria Lane is described as a fun, sexy, darkly comedic soap/mystery in the vein of Desperate Housewives, set among a group of five very different friends and sometimes frenemies who all live on a picture-perfect cul de sac called Wisteria Lane. On the surface, all the Wisteria neighbors are living the dream: beautiful homes, gorgeous families, shiny SUVs in the driveway. But behind those white picket fences and smiling Insta posts are secrets. Desperate Housewives starred Teri Hatcher, Felicity Huffman, Eva Longoria, Marcia Cross and Nicollette Sheridan as five women — mostly friends — living on Wisteria Lane, who begin uncovering dark secrets after their neighbor Mary Alice Young (Brenda Strong) kills herself. My Husband Made Me Watch This Bonkers Murder Mystery Series and Now I Can't Stop Bingeing
As a big fan of Desperate Housewives, I've had Marc Cherry's other soapy show, Devious Maids, on my radar for years. The four season series originally premiered on Lifetime back in 2013 and has since landed over at Hulu. And after my partner made me watch the first episode with him (he's currently on his second viewing of the show), I realized I'd found my newest trash TV obsession—and I mean "trash TV" in the best way possible. Devious Maids follows four maids who work for some of the richest and most powerful people in Beverly Hills. And when one of their fellow maids is murdered, Ana Ortiz's Marisol takes it upon herself to solve the murder (and free her son who is accused of committing it). Like Desperate Housewives, the show is campy, sexy, silly, over-the-top and just plain fun to watch. Plus, who doesn't love a murder mystery? Nicole Wilder/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty Images Studios via Getty images The series does a great job of weaving comedic and dramatic storylines together and it features some pretty stellar performances. Ortiz (who you might recognize from Ugly Betty) is the perfect straight man to the, shall we say, wackier characters. Susan Lucci (yes, the Susan Lucci) is fabulous as a sweet but totally out-of-touch millionaire. And Judy Reyes (who I absolutely loved in Scrubs and Claws) brings just the right amount of humor and sass as Lucci's maid-slash-best friend. Bob Mahoney/Disney General Entertainment Content via Getty Images Studios via Getty Images The plotlines are a bit ridiculous, but as I said, they're fun. Aside from the murder storyline, one maid is sleeping with her married employer. Another is trying to trick her superstar boss into helping her music career. And another is trying to prevent her daughter (also a maid) from falling head over heels for the rich boss's son. There's a lot going on but, unlike a regular soap opera, the action moves fast, providing twists and cliffhangers in every episode. So while I hate to admit it, I do owe my partner a begrudging "thank you" for this recommendation. It's the ideal show for kicking my feet up, turning my brain off and unwinding after the work day. And if my current binge rate keeps up, I'll be finished with it very very soon. All four seasons (and 49 episodes) of Devious Maids are available to stream on Hulu now. "Marc Cherry has a very specific voice, and that singular voice resonated with people," Felicity explained. "And the way he created those women's friendships—the friendship is key." Another project the Good Lawyer star is looking forward to seeing on screen? Her two-part Lifetime movie The Thirteenth Wife: Escaping Polygamy, which premieres May 31 and June 1 on the channel at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT. For Felicity, the film—which is based on the real-life story of Rena Chynoweth, who was forced to become the 13th wife of polygamist cult leader Ervil LaBaron—is guaranteed to be a "rollercoaster" for viewers. Eva Longoria says she's 'slept with everyone on the street': does that mean no Desperate Housewives comeback?
Eva Longoria may have been in Paris for fashion, but her words made a much louder statement than her outfit. As she greeted fans outside a luxury hotel in a beige co-ord and her signature effortless charm, Longoria reignited talk about a Desperate Housewives reboot only to pour cold water on the idea herself. #Operation Sindoor The damage done at Pak bases as India strikes to avenge Pahalgam Why Pakistan pleaded to end hostilities Kashmir's Pahalgam sparks Karachi's nightmare The Desperate Housewives actress looked radiant and relaxed in the French capital, waving to admirers in a cream wool pencil skirt and matching long cardigan layered over a crisp white shirt. Paired with casual white sneakers and tousled waves, Longoria exuded the polished yet approachable elegance she's known for. But behind the Parisian glow lies a reality that's less glamorous for fans still clinging to hope for a Desperate Housewives return. Eva Longoria hints at dead-end for Desperate Housewives reunion While interacting with fans during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live , Longoria dropped a revelation that surprised even host Andy Cohen. Responding to a question about what's keeping a reboot from happening, she placed the blame squarely on series creator Marc Cherry . Yeah. He feels like we've exhausted the characters,' she said, dashing the hopes of many who dreamed of revisiting the drama-filled Wisteria Lane . Longoria explained the intensity of the original show's production 24 episodes a season for eight seasons made it difficult to imagine where the story could go next. "It's unlike Sex and the City , which was only, like, six episodes, eight episodes a year," she added, joking, "I can't sleep with any more people on that, right? Like I have slept with every single person on the street." Could Wisteria Lane be closed forever? Fans weren't the only ones entertained by Longoria's cheeky comments. Comedy icon Sandra Bernhard, a fellow guest, asked whether Gabrielle ever explored a same-sex storyline. 'No, I didn't... wait, did I?' Longoria laughed. Bernhard playfully pitched a 'half season' on that premise, prompting Longoria to reply, 'We got to convince Marc Cherry.' Live Events When Cohen asked if Longoria still receives 'healthy residual checks' from the show, she didn't miss a beat. 'I do well,' she said with a grin. Desperate Housewives was once the most-watched TV show globally, inspiring international remakes and even Bravo's Real Housewives franchise. But with the creator unwilling to revisit the material, even its biggest stars seem ready to move on albeit with a wink.
