Watch Marcus Freeman, Leonard Moore discuss season two of \
The Fighting Irish are ready for more cameras in the complex. There will be a second season of "Here Come The Irish", a documentary that provides an inside look at Notre Dame Fighting Irish football. Notre Dame head coach Marcus Freeman and defensive back Leonard Moore went on "The Today Show" to discuss the second season of the show. We reviewed season one recently. Freeman joked that "it took some convincing. I said 'there are some things they may have to edit'," while Moore said he took advantage of the chance to discuss his epilepsy. "It's something I remind myself of every time I go out on the field," Moore said. Season two of "Here Come the Irish" doesn't yet have a release date -- it's in production now. Watch Notre Dame's Marcus Freeman and walk-on Isaiah Dunn funny segment on SportsCenter
With Notre Dame football making its annual New York media trip, head coach Marcus Freeman a more than a few Irish players are making their rounds on various shows. One of those was ESPN's SportsCenter, and while Freeman thought that he'd just be speaking with Kevin Negandhi, that wasn't the case. Walk-on cornerback Isaiah Dunn was on the set as well, and surprised his head coach while on a video call for the interview. The senior from California wasn't one of the players accompanying Freeman to New York, but instead was in Bristol, Connecticut and had quite the question for this head coach. Dunn asked who, on a random Tuesday practice, would come up with a big interception, and his coach picked the 'host' to make the play. It's another reason why players really love playing for Freeman, he always has their backs along with a generally great sense of humor. The relationships that he's forged with former, current and future Irish players has been impressive, and one of the big reasons why Notre Dame is becoming one of the top teams to play for. Notre Dame is among the top schools in average rating per commitment in the 2026 class
While recruiting is a numbers game, Notre Dame isn't just taking twenty-six prospects to fill its roster. There are multiple impact players among the group, along with others that will make their presence felt later in their careers. When looking at the 2026 class, the Irish, according to Rivals, are among the nation's top classes in average rating per commitment with 90.93. They trail just three others classes in Oregon, LSU and Alabama, while leading Ohio State, Texas A&M, USC, Georgia and the rest of the country. Head coach Marcus Freeman can't be given enough credit for the change in recruiting during his tenure, as it seemingly has gotten better and better each year, with this one being his best. Among the top commits are safety Joey O'Brien, cornerback Khary Adams, and offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh. It's a class that is loaded all over with talent, and could be the start of an extraordinary recruiting run for Notre Dame. Notre Dame football makes the top-5 for one of its main 2027 quarterback targets
Notre Dame has changed the way it recruits under head coach Marcus Freeman, and the most noticeable difference has been with its quarterback recruiting. Multiple high-level players have been brought into the program, with a pair of them in CJ Carr and Kenny Minchey along with Blake Hebert battling it out for the starting spot, and with Noah Grubbs committed in the 2026 class, the cupboard had been refilled. The Irish don't want for it to get empty, and while they have only offered two 2027 quarterbacks, one of them is clearly very high on the Irish. Georgia 4-star Teddy Jarrard earned a Notre Dame offer early in the spring, and now had included them inside his top-5 along with the in-state Bulldogs, Ohio State, Michigan, and Penn State. At 6-foot, 3-inches and 190-pounds, he's one of the top ranked players at his position in his class, ranking as the No. 194 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite. It won't be easy for the Irish to beat out these four other top college football programs, but the way that Notre Dame has been recruiting lately, you can't rule them out of any recruitment. Jarrard was on campus this spring for a camp, and showed enough to the coaching staff that they put him at the to of the recruiting board. Watch: Marcus Freeman talking Notre Dame with Michael Strahan on Good Morning America
Notre Dame has a much different pre-season media cycle than other teams, with the Irish not having a conference affiliation, they end up traveling to New York as their 'Media Days.' Head coach Marcus Freeman's first stop in the 'Big Apple' was joining Michael Strahan on Good Morning America, as the two former NFL players had discussed multiple aspects of Notre Dame football. He went on to talk about the team's success wasn't just one aspect, it's 'the people, the players.' Freeman went on to say his success was predicated on the team, not just what he was doing. He'd later go on a talk about his military upbringing, utilizing that kind of family aspect and bringing many of those ideas into the Irish program. Freeman gives plenty of credit to his wife and family, as he loves to bring them into the facility and being around the team. Freeman didn't jump the cart when Strahan asked about his outlook for the season, his goal is to go 1-0. He knows people dream about undefeated seasons, but you have to get the first win to even think about it. It's one of the best qualities that Freeman has, his ability to be so personable, down to earth, and captivating. He's a great representative for Notre Dame, and just as a good of a coach.
