Notre Dame is among the top schools in average rating per commitment in the 2026 class
When looking at the 2026 class, the Irish, according to Rivals, are among the nation's top classes in average rating per commitment with 90.93. They trail just three others classes in Oregon, LSU and Alabama, while leading Ohio State, Texas A&M, USC, Georgia and the rest of the country.
Head coach Marcus Freeman can't be given enough credit for the change in recruiting during his tenure, as it seemingly has gotten better and better each year, with this one being his best. Among the top commits are safety Joey O'Brien, cornerback Khary Adams, and offensive tackle Grayson McKeogh.
It's a class that is loaded all over with talent, and could be the start of an extraordinary recruiting run for Notre Dame.

MSU football offers 3-star DL, FAU commit Frederic Sainteus of Naples, Fla.
Michigan State football has extended an offer to a three-star defensive lineman currently committed to a school from the American Conference. Frederic Sainteus of Naples, Fla. announced on Monday evening that he has received an offer from the Spartans. Sainteus -- who is currently committed to Florida Atlantic -- announced the offer from the Spartans by posting on his social media X account, stating he received the offer after a conversation with Michigan State Executive Director of Player Personnel Antwon Murray. Sainteus is a three-star defensive lineman in the 2026 class, with a recruiting rating of 85 in 247Sports' composite system. He ranks as the No. 167 defensive lineman and No. 1,611 overall prospect in the class, according to 247Sports. Sainteus committed to Florida Atlantic in late June. According to 247Sports, Michigan State is only the third FBS school to extend an offer to Sainteus, with his other two offers being from Florida Atlantic and Florida International. Jeremiyah Love added to Maxwell Award watch list
The Fighting Irish running back could get a major award this season. Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love may be a long shot for the Heisman, and now he's on another awards' watch list. He's on the watch list for the Maxwell Award. The award is given out to the most outstanding college football player in the U.S., with sports writers, sports broadcasters, and head coaches making up the field of judges. Boise State's Ashton Jeanty won the award in 2024. It's no surprise Love would be on this list, since he helped lead the Irish to the national title game last season -- and had he been healthier, the team might have prevailed over Ohio State. Maybe Love should be more of a Heisman favorite, after all. Top international 2027 big man to visit UNC basketball
A top 2027 big man will visit the Tar Heels this week The North Carolina Tar Heels' basketball program was able to land a top 10 recruiting class for the 2025 cycle, and now, Hubert Davis and the staff are hoping to build on that with future classes. Despite no commitments in the 2026 class, UNC does have offers out to several prospects. But they are also starting to work on the 2027 class. On Monday, Jonathan Givony reported that top international big man Sayon Keita will start his visits this week and will travel to six programs: North Carolina, Duke, Kansas, Indiana, UConn, and Kentucky. The official visits started on Monday and will be completed after the sixth visit. Kansas is the first program to receive a visit this week followed by Indiana, Kentucky, Duke, UNC and then UConn to wrap it up on August 2nd. The 7-foot center hails from Spain and is considered the top international big man in the 2027 class. He could reclassify to 2026, which would be huge for whatever program is able to land him. North Carolina was able to land Henri Veesaar out of the transfer portal, as the former Arizona player found a new home. But the Tar Heels will need to reload at the position for future classes.
