Mark Latham's porn star ex Nathalie Matthews converted to Islam three years ago - while he was One Nation's leader in NSW

Between her days as a secret porn star and debuting a doomed relationship with volatile politician Mark Latham, versatile businesswoman Nathalie Matthews converted to Islam. Ten days have passed since Ms Matthews first emerged to accuse Latham of inflicting 'a sustained pattern' of psychological, financial and emotional abuse but her colourful background continues to shock. The 37-year-old, born Nathalie May Darrough, was originally described only as a Liberal Party member who owned a global logistics firm with a presence in Sydney, Dubai and Perth. It later turned out the racing enthusiast had until recently operated an OnlyFans account under the name Bondi C** S***, apparently while she ran for Sutherland Shire Council in 2021. Daily Mail Australia can now reveal the daughter of an assistant principal at a Catholic school pledged herself as a Muslim in November 2022 to become Maryam Abdullah. A 'Certificate of Declaring Islam' issued by the United Arab Emirates shows Ms Matthews using her date of birth and maiden name Darrough to formally embrace Islam. A demure picture of Ms Matthews wearing a hijab appears at the top of the certificate which lists her previous religion as Christian. The document welcomes Ms Matthews into the Islamic fold with the induction: 'We praise Allah who guided her to Islam so she should adhere to the rulings of Allah and abstain from the forbidden.' Among acts forbidden by Islam are fornication - consensual sex between two people who are not married - while gambling and drinking alcohol are frowned upon. A Certificate of Islam is not required for a person to become a Muslim but some organisations provide an official document for legal or travel purposes. To gain such a certificate in the Muslim-majority UAE a convert must provide a valid passport, other identification, and one personal photo in which a woman should be wearing a hijab. Ms Matthews declined to comment on Wednesday night why she converted to Islam or whether she still considered herself to be Muslim. To become a Muslim, Ms Matthews would have recited the Shahada: 'I bear witness that there is no god but Allah, and I bear witness that Muhammad is the Messenger of Allah.' Latham, a former member of Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party, has supported a travel ban on certain Islamic countries and a decade ago said 'in western Sydney there is a Muslim problem'. Hanson removed Latham as One Nation's NSW leader in August 2023 and he subsequently resigned from the party to sit as an independent in the upper house. If what Latham has called a 'situationship' with Ms Matthews commenced sometime before May 2022, as she has said, his One Nation membership and her newfound faith overlapped. Daily Mail Australia confirmed Ms Matthews and Latham as a couple in July 2023 after they each posted pictures of themselves to social media in the same row of seats at Wimbledon on Court 1. Ms Matthews describes herself as the managing director of Skynet Global Logistics, a company engaged in freight forwarding, a role which according to LinkedIn she has held for 19 months. Her LinkedIn profile says she has advised for Compass Logistics International, managing and developing trade between Australia and the Gulf Cooperational Council, over the same period. LinkedIn also shows Ms Matthews has been a freelance host of Import Export TV – '[the] world's first and only channel dedicated to international trade and global supply chains' - since 2023. Ms Matthews states 'over the past few years' she has been working across the UAE and Australia 'helping to build companies, launch ventures, and unlock opportunities'. Earlier position with freight forwarding, supply chain and logistics companies date back to 2009, after Ms Matthews spent three years as a fulltime receptionist with Four Seasons Hotels and Resorts. Ms Matthews married British-born Ross Matthews about seven years ago - both were Liberal Party members - but the pair reportedly parted ways in 2022. Police are now seeking an apprehended violence order to protect Ms Matthews from her ex-husband, who has pleaded not guilty to using a carriage device to menace, harass or offend. Ross Matthews has distanced himself from his ex-wife, only breaking his silence on social media to address the ongoing furore about her dispute with Latham. 'Please stop messaging me,' he posted on X after the scandal erupted. 'I don't speak to Nathalie and do not care. Thank you.' Daily Mail Australia revealed on Wednesday that Ms Matthews had previously been in a relationship with a man she met through the transport and logistics industry who was about 20 years older than her. After they broke up, police sought an AVO against Ms Matthews - as Nathalie Darrough - to protect the man but in June 2015 the application was withdrawn. In February 2018, Ms Matthews - still known as Darrough - pleaded guilty to shoplifting from the Camilla fashion boutique at Westfield Miranda in Sydney's south. She was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond without conviction and ordered to pay $449 to the store. None of that was known - or likely ever would have been known - until after The Australian newspaper reported on July 14 that Ms Matthews had privately sought an AVO against Latham. The AVO application follows a messy break-up of what Latham has called a 'sexed-up, consensual, open arrangement'. Ms Matthews alleges 64-year-old Latham committed degrading acts including forcing her to have sex with other people and 'defecating on me before sex and refusing to let me wash'. Following the original story in The Australian, intimate WhatsApp messages between Ms Matthews and Latham were leaked to The Daily Telegraph. 'Very hard thinking about you,' Latham wrote to Ms Matthews during parliamentary sitting hours, shortly after 11am on February 20. 'Need badly to taste you,' he wrote that afternoon, alongside an emoji of a tongue. Latham has denied all abuse accusations, claiming that he had 'scores of documents' which would vindicate him, and enjoyed a 'fantastic' sex life with Ms Matthews. Daily Mail Australia revealed last Friday that Ms Matthews worked as an OnlyFans porn star for years before she started dating the former federal Labor leader. Ms Matthews' posts - where she enhanced her appearance with AI face-tuning technology - included raw video footage of herself engaged in sexual intercourse with another person, as well as hundreds of explicit images. Her account has since been taken down from OnlyFans, but the material she posted had spread to online fan sites and forums. Although Ms Matthews is thought to have been living in the Cronulla area at the time, it is understood she believed the OnlyFans venture would bring in more revenue by using 'Bondi' rather than 'Sutherland' in her online profile. Latham's lawyer Zali Burrows served WiseTech global billionaire Richard White and Ms Matthews with subpoenas related to her AVO application last Friday. The subpoena requested emails, text messages, and OnlyFans direct messages between Mr White and Ms Matthews, who connected on LinkedIn in 2023. Latham has said the subpoenas requesting communications between Mr White and Ms Matthews had not been intended to intimidate her, as she claimed. Instead, Latham insisted he wanted access to those communications to test Ms Matthews' allegations that he had forced her have sex with other men. Mr White is not accused of any wrongdoing and this publication is not suggesting he and Ms Matthews engaged in a sexual relationship. Daily Mail Australia is also not suggesting any wrongdoing by Latham, only that Ms Matthews has made allegations against him as part of applying for an AVO.

Twist as ex-husband of Mark Latham's former partner charged

The ex-husband of Mark Latham's former partner Nathalie Matthews will fight allegations that he used a carriage service to menace or harass. Ross Matthews in Sydney's Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday pleaded not guilty to one count of using a carriage service to menace, harass or offend. Police have also applied for an AVO on Ms Matthews' behalf against Mr Matthews, with the court told on Wednesday that the matters were related. Mr Matthews will now contest the charge at a hearing in December. He has attempted to distance himself from Ms Matthews and the allegations she has made against Mr Latham. 'Please stop messaging me,' he posted on X, formerly Twitter. 'I don't speak to Nathalie and do not care. Thank you.' Mr Matthews and Ms Matthews reportedly married seven years ago before their relationship ended in 2022. Ms Matthews has separately made allegations that Mr Latham abused her during their relationship and sent her sexual messages from the parliament chamber. The former federal Labor leader has strenuously denied Ms Matthews' allegations, which are untested. The allegations are contained in a separate application for an AVO filed in the local court. Mr Latham has not been charged with any criminal offence.

EXCLUSIVE Bombshell twist as police charge the estranged husband of Mark Latham's porn star ex

The ex-husband of Mark Latham's former partner has been charged with harassment and menacing behaviour just days after he said he had nothing to do with his ex-wife. Ross Matthews was due to appear in Sydney 's Downing Centre Local Court on Wednesday to face a charge of 'using a carriage service to menace/harass/offend'. The charge is believed to relate to Latham's porn star ex, Nathalie Matthews. Further details are expected to be revealed in court later today. Ms Matthews has also applied to the court for an apprehended violence (AVO) restraining order to be taken out for her protection against him. The legal twist comes just a week after Matthews insisted he no longer had anything to do with his former wife since their split three years ago. Matthews spoke out after Ms Matthews accused Latham of 'a sustained pattern' of psychological, financial and emotional abuse during their relationship. 'Please stop messaging me,' Ross Matthews posted on X after the scandal erupted. 'I don't speak to Nathalie and do not care. Thank you.' The Matthews married in 2018 but the marriage reportedly ended in 2022, before Ms Matthews began dating former federal Labor Party leader, Latham. Ms Matthews now also has a separate AVO application in court against Latham. She claimed Latham proposed to her during their affair - but he has dismissed the relationship as just a 'situationship', despite explicit texts to her also now emerging. 'The big news is I had a private life. I had a sex life and I've got to say it was fantastic,' he said on Wednesday. UK-born Mr Matthews had previously posted proudly about his marriage to his former wife on social media. 'Six months since I woke up with a killer hangover and still managed to make the best decision I have ever made!' he wrote in the wake of their wedding. In another post he added: 'Happy one year! I cannot believe how fast a year can go! 'I would be lying if I said it's been the best year of my life - in fact it's easily been the worst but it is in bad times that picking the right life partner is of the most importance! 'I just could not imagine doing life without you, love you always and here's to many years to come!' It's understood the pair, who were living in Cronulla in Sydney's south, were both Liberal Party members, and Ms Matthews stood as a candidate at the 2021 Sutherland Shire Council election. On Wednesday, Latham alleged the couple were still actually married while he was seeing Ms Matthews. 'Now The Australian is 'reporting' that I proposed to Nathalie Matthews in May last year,' he posted to X. 'They missed the joke: she was still married to Ross Matthews, and maybe still is to this day.' The former Labor leader has categorically denied he 'abuses women' and insisted all his dealings with Ms Matthews were entirely consensual. In an interview with Chris Smith on 2SM, he did not deny sending lurid texts to Ms Matthews from the floor of state parliament. But he added: 'If I'm the only person in Australia who in a work environment engaged in a bit of playful sex talk with their partner, then I'll buy everyone a lottery ticket tomorrow.' He said the AVO case against him was being brought privately after NSW Police chose to not pursue the allegations. 'There is a court case pending because she's lodged a private AVO application,' he said. 'She tried to get an AVO with the police... I think that tells you a lot about the substance of the matter. 'But I can say in relation to that, just about all the things she's complaining about, she initiated in consensual arrangements.' The domestic violence order filed in the NSW Local Court accuses Latham of subjecting his ex-partner to 'a sustained pattern' of psychological, financial, and emotional abuse over almost three years, according to details seen by The Australian. The application alleges Latham engaged in vile acts, 'including defecating on me before sex and refusing to let me wash, forcing degrading sexual acts, pressuring me to engage in sexual acts with others, demanding I call him 'master', telling me I was his property, and repeatedly telling me that my only value to him was for sex to demean and control me'. Leaked WhatsApp messages reported by The Daily Telegraph on Wednesday allegedly show interactions between Latham and his former partner. Latham told Daily Mail Australia the outlet's reproduction of the messages was 'not accurate'. It is also not suggested the claims of abusive behaviour are substantiated, only that the allegations have been made. The leaked WhatsApp messages include a series of lewd exchanges on February 20, 2025 during parliamentary sitting hours. 'Very hard thinking about you,' he wrote to Ms Matthews shortly after 11am, before following up with a series of suggestive emojis. 'Need badly to taste you,' he wrote that afternoon, alongside an emoji of a tongue. 'Made it back for first vote after dinner,' he said at 8.38pm. Latham told the outlet the communications did not impact his work. The tranche of leaked messages includes more explicit exchanges - too graphic to publish - spanning back as far as October last year. On several occasions, Latham is referred to as 'master'. He said Ms Matthews sent him images during parliamentary sittings, 'seeking a response', and that he could not describe them due to 'an abundance of caution about the revenge porn laws'. 'I don't think responding to a consensual partner on a private, intimate matter in any way has reduced my workload, which I would match up against any other member in the place,' he told The Daily Telegraph. Ms Matthews' allegations against the politician were detailed in court documents filed with NSW Local Court. Latham has denied the allegations which he described as 'comically false and ridiculous' in a post to X on Monday night. He said he had 'scores of documents' to support his claims and that he would rely on those documents to defend himself. 'As the old saying goes, hell hath no fury like a woman scorned,' he wrote. Ms Matthews, who runs an e-commerce global logistics firm based in Dubai, Perth and Sydney, has applied for an interim order barring Latham from coming within 100 metres of her. She cited 'ongoing, reasonable fear of harassment, intimidation, and potential harm'. Her application accuses the former Labor leader of throwing a dinner plate at her, forcing her to call him 'master', and pressuring her to have sex with others. Ms Matthews' filing, reported by The Australian, also alleges Latham prevented her from cleaning up after defecating on her before sex and telling her she was 'property', and telling her that her only value to him was for sex to 'demean and control' her. Latham claimed the texting did not impact his work She also alleged 'physical violence' incidents, including pushing her against walls, forcing her out a door, throwing a plate at her during a row. She also claimed he drove at her with his car, hit her with the side mirror and caused a bruise. Latham is further accused of 'systematically undermining' Ms Matthews to 'control and isolate' her by comparing her 'unfavourably to other women and acting as if he would 'harm himself' to manipulate her. Ms Matthews accuses Latham of forcing her to cover the cost of holidays abroad 'under duress', making her purchase expensive goods, and coercing her regarding her father's will for his benefit. She claims she experienced 'constant fear and hyper-vigilance' since her arrival home from a June trip abroad, alleging all past break-ups with Latham featured a repeated 'pattern of harassment and intimidation'. She alleges: 'The defendant has held intimate photos and videos of me, and I have been afraid he would expose them to shame and control me if I attempted to leave or resist his demands.' Latham denied all accusations to The Australian. 'Nothing has been served on me nor has anyone contacted me,' he told the newspaper. 'I haven't had anything to do with her (Ms Matthews) since 27 May, so nearly seven weeks ago. I ended the 'situationship' that night for very good reason.' The matter will be heard at Downing Centre Local Court on July 30.

EXCLUSIVE Revealed: The first man to feel the wrath of Mark Latham's porn star ex - who had to beg a court for protection, as wild new details emerge from her past

A former boyfriend of the woman accusing politician Mark Latham of abusing her says she made baseless claims about him to police after they broke up. The man met Nathalie Matthews when they were both working in the transport and logistics industry more than a decade ago and spent about a year in a relationship. He says after Ms Matthews moved out of his Sydney apartment she returned to pick up a basket of belongings and pulled down a large mirror, which broke. The man - who is about 20 years older than Ms Matthews - told Daily Mail Australia she later made allegations against him which he vehemently denied and police did not act upon. Police subsequently sought an apprehended violence order against Ms Matthews to protect the man but it was withdrawn - he says at his request - in June 2015 at Downing Centre Local Court. Ms Matthews is seeking a restraining order against Latham following the messy break-up of what the independent NSW upper house MP has called a 'sexed-up, consensual, open arrangement'. The 37-year-old alleges Latham, 64, inflicted 'a sustained pattern' of psychological, financial and emotional abuse against her for almost three years. She further alleges Latham threw a dinner plate at her and committed degrading sexual acts 'including defecating on me before sex and refusing to let me wash'. Daily Mail Australia can reveal Ms Matthews has a criminal history which includes offences of receiving stolen goods and shoplifting. Ms Matthews was charged under her maiden name Darrough with stealing goods worth less than $2,000 from the Camilla fashion boutique at Westfield Miranda in Sydney's south in 2017. She pleaded guilty in Sutherland Local Court to shoplifting and receiving and was placed on a 12-month good behaviour bond without conviction in February the next year. Magistrate Glenn Bartley made a separate order that Matthews pay $449 to the Camilla store at Miranda Westfield. Three years earlier, police had sought an apprehended violence order against Ms Matthews, again as Nathalie May Darrough, for the protection of a former partner. That man, whose relationship with Ms Matthews predated her marriage, laughed long and hard when Daily Mail Australia first mentioned her name to him on Tuesday. 'There's so many similarities,' he said. 'Don't get me wrong, I think Mark Latham's a f***ing d***head.' The man said his relationship with Ms Matthews had been normal - 'I suppose' - and that until they parted ways 'everything was fine'. Eventually, some incident the man could no longer recall occurred and Ms Matthews told him she would be moving out of his apartment. 'She went a bit funny in the head,' he said. 'She said, 'I'm moving out'. I went, 'Righto, no drama'.' The man wondered, with hindsight, if his nonchalant attitude to Ms Matthews moving out of his home had allegedly set her off. He claimed that when Ms Matthews came around to pick up a basket of clothes 'she went crazy' and broke a mirror which was hung behind a television set. Following that incident, according to the man, Ms Matthews became further annoyed. 'There was something that she was demanding, I can't remember what it was,' he said. 'And I said, 'Nah, that's not going to happen'. 'She said, 'If you don't do this, I'll go the coppers.' I went, 'Go your hardest'. 'Whatever she wanted didn't happen so a week later she went to the coppers.' The man said he was interviewed by police but the only action they took was to apply for an apprehended violence order against Ms Matthews. 'I had nothing to be concerned about,' he said. 'I answered all their questions and spoke the truth.' The man said when the AVO application reached Downing Centre Local Court in June 2015 he did not wish it to proceed. Instead, he wanted Ms Matthews to give a private undertaking she would stay away from him for a certain period of time, which he said she agreed to do. 'The sole reason I didn't go through with the AVO is I'm not an a***hole and I didn't want to ruin her entire life,' he said. Ms Matthews declined to comment on the restraining order police had sought to protect her former boyfriend or about any events after that relationship ended. Daily Mail Australia accepts Ms Matthews has never been found guilty of any domestic violence-related offence. The man had been vaguely aware Ms Matthews and Latham were in a relationship due to social media posts and read about her AVO application last week. Latham has denied all abuse accusations, claiming that he had 'scores of documents' which would vindicate him, and enjoyed a 'fantastic' sex life with Ms Matthews 'When this came out my mother rang me,' he said. 'She said, 'This looks familiar, doesn't it?'' Latham has said what he called his 'situationship' with Ms Matthews ended on May 27 when she confronted him covered in mud. Since the existence of the AVO application was revealed by The Australian on July 15, intimate text messages between Latham and Ms Matthews have been leaked. Ms Matthews posted graphic images and videos of herself under the name Bondi C** Sl** from 2019 to 2023. OnlyFans followers typically pay creators for exclusive, usually adult and often explicit, content. The dates of the postings also coincided with her unsuccessful bid to be elected a Liberal councillor in south Sydney's Sutherland Shire in 2021. Although Ms Matthews is thought to have been living in the Cronulla area at the time, it is understood she believed the OnlyFans venture would bring in more revenue by using 'Bondi' rather than 'Sutherland' in her online profile. Ms Matthews declined to comment on her OnlyFans past but her lawyer told Daily Mail Australia her client 'has been subjected to character assassination, reputational damage and trial by media'. 'Domestic violence is a serious issue in our society,' solicitor Sarah McMahon said. 'Any individual in genuine fear should have the right to seek protection without vilification.' Ms Matthews was previously married to British expat Ross Matthews. Both were members of the Liberal Party at the time. Their marriage reportedly ended in 2022, before she began dating Latham. Mr Matthews has distanced himself from his ex-wife, breaking his silence on social media to address the furore. 'Please stop messaging me,' he posted on X after the scandal erupted. 'I don't speak to Nathalie and do not care. Thank you.' Leaked WhatsApp messages reported by The Daily Telegraph showed sexually explicit exchanges between Latham and Ms Matthews. 'Very hard thinking about you,' he wrote to Ms Matthews during parliamentary sitting hours, shortly after 11am on February 20. 'Need badly to taste you,' he wrote that afternoon, alongside an emoji of a tongue. 'Made it back for first vote after dinner,' he said at 8.38pm. Latham told Daily Mail Australia the reproduction of the WhatsApp messages was 'not accurate' and has insisted the communications did not impact his work. Matthews describes herself as the managing director of Skynet Global Logistics, a company engaged in freight forwarding, a role she has held for 19 months according to LinkedIn.
