'Perfect' cat and mouse thriller that 'keeps you guessing' is streaming this weekend

The star-studded mystery thriller and its sequel are both coming to streaming this weekend. Popular heist movie Now You See Me is available to stream this weekend alongside its sequel film, Now You See Me 2. Fans are being urged to re-watch the films ahead of 2025's Now You See Me: Now You Don't, which will mark the third film in the trilogy when it is released in November. ‌ While the critical consensus for the film is decidedly mixed at 51%, Now You See Me has a respectable Rotten Tomatoes audience score of 70%, with one fan describing it as the 'perfect cat and mouse' story. ‌ Other fans have described the heist movie as a 'comfort watch', with many applauding the film's entertaining twists. The stylish magician-focused flick also comprises a stellar cast, including Mark Ruffalo, Jessie Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Isla Fisher and Dave Franco, as well as Hollywood legends Michael Caine and Morgan Freeman. ‌ The synopsis for the movie reads: 'Charismatic magician Atlas (Jesse Eisenberg) leads a team of talented illusionists called the Four Horsemen. 'Atlas and his comrades mesmerize audiences with a pair of amazing magic shows that drain the bank accounts of the corrupt and funnel the money to audience members. ‌ 'A federal agent (Mark Ruffalo) and an Interpol detective (Mélanie Laurent) intend to rein in the Horsemen before their next caper, and they turn to Thaddeus (Morgan Freeman), a famous debunker, for help.' Fans can now catch up with the original film and its sequel on Paramount+, which has a seven-day free trial included in its subscription. Taking to the comments section of Rotten Tomatoes, fans have shared their thoughts on the 2013 thriller. ‌ Many praised the film's ability to entertain, with one writing: 'Such a fun movie. I thoroughly enjoyed it from the first scene to the last. So entertaining!' 'Entertaining and I loved that I didn't have it figured out,' another agreed, while a third wrote: 'Maybe people just don't like magic but I was TOTALLY entertained. Love it!' Others gave the film a perfect score, with one fan writing: 'Absolutely amazing. Unique magic tricks and a new form of heists involving entertaining suspense. 10/10. I loved it.' ‌ 'Loved it! Perfect cat and mouse movie leaving you guessing the entire time,' another agreed. ‌ More fans praised the film's many twists, with one commenting: 'A thrilling movie that keeps you guessing at every single turn on what the Four Horsemen might do and why they do it.' Another enthused: 'Absolutely loved the movie, very clever, twists and turns, great acting and actors I love! I will watch this many times!' 'This is one of my favorite movies to watch. I love the twist and how they use their shows to present it to you,' one more fan penned, as another concurred: 'One of my favourite movies.' ‌ Another fan left a thoughtful review, which read: 'The magic isn't just confined to the vocation of the main characters in this complex and charismatic 2013 crowd-pleaser.' One more person summed up their thoughts on the film by writing: 'Now You See Me delivers a fast-paced, stylish thrill ride that blends the intrigue of a heist film with the spectacle of stage magic.' However, not everyone was a fan, with one viewer complaining: 'Boring , predictable, and the ending draws on for nearly 30 minutes.' Another shared: 'Not my cup of tea. Plenty of good performers here, but overall it seemed weak and not as spectacular as it could've been. The ending plot twist seemed a little dry and not as breath grasping as it could've been.' One more fan provided a balanced review, reflecting: 'I realise this movie has its flaws…it's a bit precious, the characters are a bit cartoonish, and the plot is contrived and strains the imagination. That being said, it's one of my favourite comfort films, as it requires nothing but suspension of disbelief and a willingness to be entertained without any further expectations.' Now You See Me and Now You See Me 2 are available to watch on Paramount Plus from Saturday, July 26.

Joe Rogan may be the most famous podcaster in the world, but it's not every day he's spotted out and about. Page Six caught up with the host of The Joe Rogan Experience, 57, as he sailed on a mega-yacht off the coast of Italy with his wife, Jessica Ditzel, and two of their two daughters, Lola, 16, and Rosy, 14. Dressed in a t-shirt for the luxury vacation, Rogan was spotted snacking and hanging out with his family, who enjoyed the luxurious accommodations. But when Rogan spoke out recently on the podcast against Trump's policy of conducting ICE raids on workplaces, he received criticism from actor Mark Ruffalo, who chalked it up to being too little too late. "Dear Joe Rogan. It's a little late now to pretend like Project 2025 didn't exist and wasn't the playbook all along. You are either not that smart or not that dumb. It's hard to tell at this point," Ruffalo wrote on Instagram Threads. On the July 2 episode of his podcast, Rogan told his listeners the following, according to Fox News: "We were told there would be no — well, there's two things that are insane," Rogan said. "One is the targeting of migrant workers. Not cartel members, not gang members, not drug dealers. Just construction workers. Showing up in construction sites, raiding them. Gardeners. Lena Dunham Credits Taylor Swift for Connecting Her With Rom-Com Icon Meg Ryan: ‘She Brings Everyone Together'

Lena Dunham's latest film project stars one of rom-com's biggest icons — but without Taylor Swift's Eras Tour, the casting of Meg Ryan might not have been possible. In a Variety cover story published this week, the Girls creator opened up about securing the Sleepless in Seattle actress for Good Sex, Dunham's upcoming Netflix film about a couple's therapist played by Natalie Portman who re-enters the dating scene after getting out of a decadelong relationship. Ryan will co-star in the film alongside Mark Ruffalo and Tucker Pillsbury, aka alt-pop musician Role Model. More from Billboard Travis Kelce Reveals Taylor Swift Pulled Off Her Surprise Tight End University Performance 'Without Practicing' Hilltop Hoods Announce 2026 Australian Arena Tour Ahead of New Album Release Royel Otis Announce 2025 Arena Shows Across Australia According to Dunham, she sold the When Harry Met Sally star on the project after running into her at a 2024 Eras stop in London. 'I decided, it's now or never, and I'm going to shoot my shot,' the screenwriter told the publication. 'She couldn't be a lovelier person.' 'Shout-out Taylor — thank you for that,' Dunham added. 'She brings everyone together; she makes the world go 'round.' Dunham and the pop star have long been close friends. The former co-starred in Swift's 2015 'Bad Blood' music video, and in 2021, Swift was a bridesmaid in Dunham's wedding to musician Luis Felber. In an interview with The New Yorker last year, Dunham — who also caught Eras Tour shows in Boston and Pittsburgh — opened up about feeling 'protective' of her famous friend. 'Probably the two things I get asked most in life are 'What is Taylor like?' and 'Can I have tickets to the Eras Tour?' And usually my answer to both things is no, but I will say that she's everything that you would want her to be,' she said at the time. 'She's kind, she's devoted, she's introspective, she's emotional, she's funny as f—,' she added at the time 'I guess my feeling sometimes is, 'Isn't she giving us enough, guys?'' Scarlett Johansson Reveals ‘Full Circle Moment' With Her Brother At Her J World Premiere, And I Love When She Reminds Us She's A Twin

When you buy through links on our articles, Future and its syndication partners may earn a commission. Scarlett Johansson once said that for 'like 15 years,' she's wanted to be in a Jurassic Park movie. As luck would have it, her wish was granted, as she's now the lead ofJurassic World Rebirth. The prospect of getting to lead such a massive film seems cool enough on its own. However, during a premiere for the 2025 movie release, Johansson had a 'full circle moment' she had with her twin brother, and this is yet another sweet sibling story from the actress. The Lost in Translation alum is a birthday twin to longtime co-star Mark Ruffalo and even has a Black Widow look-alike on TikTok. However, Scarlett Johansson has a real twin brother of her own named Hunter, who's apparently a huge Jurassic Park fan. While at Rebirth's New York premiere, Scarlett told E! News just how much of a fan her twin bro is of the sci-fi thriller franchise: He was the loudest audience member. I knew that would be the case because he loves Jurassic so much and was like, there for it. It's incredibly sweet to hear that Scarlett Johansson has such immense support for her. Also, how cool must it be for Hunter to know that his sibling is now part of such an immense franchise? Of course, made the event a truly special moment for both of the siblings, however, was the fact that both siblings grew up loving the blockbuster dinosaur franchise. As Scarlett later said: He would've been there either way because he's a fan and the movie is so explosive. He was literally orchestrating the John Williams music and was just like, so loud. That was really fun because we saw the movie together when we were 9 or 10 in the theater, and here we are in this full circle moment. It's kind of crazy. While I definitely love this affection and shared fandom between siblings, I'm always delighted when Scarlett Johansson reminds us that she's a twin. It's a little celebrity tidbit that's easy to forget and still amuses a person when they're reminded of it. While we've seen celebrity siblings working side-by-side like the Olsen Twins or Tia and Tamera Mowry, some stars have twins who aren't in the entertainment business. For instance, Rami Malek's twin brother or Jon Heder's brother aren't working actors. I think it'd be cool if Scarlett and Hunter Johansson were to appear on screen together. However, given Scarlett's career, I'm glad that they can still share a moment like the one they had at the premiere. I also love the notion of Hunter orchestrating the great John Williams' music. Honestly, I'm sure plenty of fans would probably have a somewhat similarly visceral reaction to hearing that iconic Jurassic Park theme song. Scarlett Johansson may not bring up the fact that she's a twin all that often. However, her anecdotes about her sibling never disappoint whenever they come into play. I'm hopeful that both of the Johanssons will hold onto the memory of that cool-sounding New York premiere for years to come. At present, though, fans can check out Jurassic World Rebirth for themselves, as it's currently playing in theaters nationwide.
