Massar Egbari to Perform Live at El Sawy Culture Wheel on July 31
Yara Sameh Egyptian underground band Massar Egbari will perform live at the El Sawy Cultural Wheel in Sheikh Zayed, on Thursday, July 12. They are set to present several of their popular and latest songs. View this post on Instagram A post shared by Massar Egbari (@ Massar Egbari, which means 'Compulsory Detour', is one of the most famous and oldest singing groups in Egypt and the Arab world. The band was founded in 2005 and consists of Ayman Massoud, Hany El Dakkak, Ahmed Hafez, Tamer Attallah, and Mahmoud Siam. Massar Egbari tackles social problems with their music, inserts a mix of Alternative Egyptian Music, and blends rock, jazz, and blues with some Oriental music. Hany Mustafa - music Thursday 17 April, 8pm El-Sawy Culturewheel, Wisdom Hall, 26th of July street, Zamalek, Cairo Hany Mustafa, known by his stage name Hany Must, is an Egyptian singer, songwriter and musician. The former frontman of rock band Egoz began his solo career in 2010 with the five-track EP September. He is also one of the lead singers of the Fabrica Musical Theatre company. His style draws from the indie, alternative and ambient music genres, and his music has greatly contributed to the Egyptian underground scene. Disco Misr - music Friday 18 April, 9pm Cairo Jazz Club, Sheikh Zayed, Cairo Disco Misr was formed in the mid-2010s by an Egyptian electronic music group consisting of two DJs and one VJ (visual jockey). The band represents a new Arabic pop which relies on their original fusions of electronic music, house, nu-disco and punk music with Arabic tunes, many of which are well known to the listeners. 3 in 1: Crime, Art, and Therapy - theatre plays Friday 18, Saturday 19 April, 8pm Rawabet Art Space, 5 Hussein Basha Al Meamari, Downtown Cairo The evening will present three theatre short plays, titled Crime, Art, and Therapy, consecutively. Each play offers a different perspective on life. The first play is a mysterious investigation, split into two parts: the first with a one-word dialogue, and the second with two words. The second play follows an artist constantly battling the obstacles that block her creativity. The third play is about a young man who starts therapy to confront his weaknesses. Will he succeed? Egyptian Project - music Saturday 19 April, 9pm Cairo Jazz Club - Soma Bay Egyptian Project is a French-Egyptian musical group that emerged from a unique collaboration between French producer Jérôme Ettinger and several prominent Egyptian musicians. Founded in 2007, the group blends traditional Egyptian instruments such as the arghul, rababa, kawala, and darbuka with contemporary electronic genres like trip-hop, minimal techno, and hip-hop. Their debut album, Ya Amar (2013), showcases this fusion, featuring tracks like 'Mnen Agebak' and 'Sofy,' which have resonated with audiences both in Egypt and internationally The ensemble's lineup includes renowned Egyptian artists: Sayed Emam on vocals and kawala, Salama Metwally on violin and rababa, and Ragab Sadek on percussion. TV Series 'Nos Al Shab Esmo Mohamed' to Screen in Second Half of Ramadan
The comedy series "Nos Al Shab Esmo Mohamed" (Half of the People Are Called Mohamed) is set to be screened in the second half of the Ramadan 2025 drama marathon. The drama stars Essam Omar, Rania Youssef, Sherine, Mayan El Sayed, Hagar ElSarrag, Mohamed Mahmoud, Donia Sami, Mohamed Abdelazim, and more. "Nos Al Shab Esmo Mohamed" consists of 15 episodes and hails from director Abdelaziz El Naggar and scriptwriter Mohamed Ragaa. The official logline for the drama reads, "Stuck in the endless cycle of his daily routine, Mohamed devises a plan to switch his life around, disregarding everyone else's feelings. Little does he know, fate has its own surprise for him and his cunning ruses..". Omar participated last Ramadan with the TV series " Massar Egbari". The cast also includes Ahmed Dash, Sabrien, Yasmina El Abd, Basma, Jory Bakr, May Elghety, and more. The series is a social thriller genre consisting of 15 episodes and hails from screenwriter Baher Dowaidar and director Nadine Khan.
