Actress Megha Ray, who plays the lead role of Divya in Divya Prem: Pyaar Aur Rahasya Ki Kahani, is redefining bridal glam on Indian television — by mixing it with high-energy action! In a recent conversation, Megha opened up about the physically demanding scenes she shot while dressed in full bridal attire, and how the experience pushed her out of her comfort zone. 'It honestly wasn't easy,' Megha admitted. 'The lehenga was heavy, the jewellery was tight and I had to do proper action scenes in that outfit. Every time I tried to kick, jump or fall, something got stuck — either the dupatta, the bangles, or the lehenga itself. I must've fallen 50 times. I had bruises all over, on my legs, hands and neck. It was exhausting, but I actually enjoyed it. I like doing physical scenes and I loved the challenge. ' While bridal looks are common on TV, Megha shared what made this one stand out for her. 'I've worn bridal looks before, but this one stood out. I was wearing so many layers of jewellery — two chokers, loads of bangles. I don't think I've ever been this decked up,' she laughed. 'But the Rudraksha mala made it feel special. In the show, Prem always wears it. When he gives it to me for protection, it adds real meaning to the look. It's not just jewellery, it's part of the story.' Despite having played a bride on screen before, the feeling still holds magic for Megha. 'As an Indian girl, there's something magical about dressing up as a bride. Even if you've done it before, each time feels new. The outfit, the setting, the emotions — it all comes together differently depending on the scene,' she said. 'And when the story is intense like this one, it feels more real. Ahead of the much-anticipated launch of the new show, lead actors Megha Ray and Suraj Pratap Singh visited the sacred Mahakal Temple in Ujjain to seek the blessings of Lord Shiva. Their spiritual journey also included a serene visit to the tranquil Ram Ghat, where they absorbed the peaceful energy of the holy city. Megha Ray, who plays the central character Divya, shared her heartfelt experience, saying, 'It's not easy to visit a powerful temple like Mahakal, but thanks to Sun Neo and our show, I got the chance to go there for the first time. Before we began the show, I prayed at the Mahakal temple in Ujjain and asked for blessings so that our show would become a big success. Being there felt special. I felt a deep connection with Mahakal. The temple is so beautiful, and even though there was a huge crowd, there was a unique kind of peace all around. Also, the people there were so humble and helpful that the place felt like home.' Co-star Suraj Pratap Singh, who portrays the male lead, echoed her sentiments with deep reverence: 'I've always been a big devotee of Mahakal, so visiting Ujjain was truly special for me. Exclusive- Megha Ray on returning to TV after a break, says 'I needed time to pause, realign, and not say yes for the sake of staying visible'
Megha Ray has been away from the screens for quite some time, now the actress is all set to return with a new show titled Divya–Prem: Pyaar aur Rahasya ki Kahaani . In an exclusive conversation with Times Of India TV, the actress got candid about the show, what she did during the break and more. Your new show has been making the news how does it feel to be back? It feels like a homecoming, but also a quiet, personal victory. I've missed the rhythm of being on set, but I also knew I'd only come back when it truly felt right. So to come back now, feeling aligned and settled in more ways than one, and to receive this kind of warmth — the return feels meaningful. Slipping into a new character, and feeling that energy again, has been emotional in the best way and I'm excited and grateful for the love pouring in already. How do you choose your scripts? For me, it always begins with a feeling. I look for stories that challenge me and characters with emotional depth. But beyond that, it's also about who I'm collaborating with. The producers' integrity, the director's vision and whether the team genuinely respects the actor's craft, these things matter deeply to me. When the makers are genuinely invested in your process, it creates space for honest work. And that's rare and precious. So I get drawn to the energy when makers show faith in their talent. What took you this long to say yes to a show? Sometimes, not choosing is also a choice. I needed time to pause, realign, and not say yes for the sake of staying visible. A story that moved me, yes — but also a passionate team I could trust. And when all the pieces fell into place, the yes was effortless. What was happening in the interim? A lot, quietly. Life. Growth. I was working on myself, emotionally, creatively, and even spiritually. Reading, writing, exploring places alone, reflecting. I think it's important to have seasons where you're not producing on autopilot, but also absorbing. It helped me come back with more clarity, freshness and hunger. If not working what keeps you busy? Books. Films. Food. Long walks. I enjoy creating things that never see the spotlight, journals, unfinished poems, and fleeting ideas. I enjoy moments that ground me and keep me connected to who I am, beyond the screen and honestly, I cherish the art of doing nothing once in a while. I also spend a lot of time with family, and my cat and I've grown to cherish stillness as much as I chase movement.
