Homegrown premium membership service builds portfolio in new territories Homegrown premium membership platform, SupperClub, is expanding its portfolio of discounted luxury experiences with new collaborations in Africa and South Asia. Extending beyond the GCC for the first time, SupperClub offers elegant experiences for a single subscription fee, allowing members to make limitless reservations and use unlimited offers at five star dining and leisure venues at a lower than usual price. Building on its exponential growth across the region, SupperClub is now extending its unique platform to clientele in territories including Pakistan, Nigeria and South Africa. Central to the expansion into Pakistan is a recent partnership with The Privilege Club, one of Asia's premier members-only luxury programs by the Hashoo Group. The collaboration will see SupperClub members receive discounted rates on the Privilege Club hotel rooms and food and beverage outlets and spas at over 40 venues, while the Privilege Club members will receive bespoke rates on SupperClub membership. The agreement was formalised in a signing ceremony between co-founder of SupperClub, Mehreen Omar, and CEO of Privilege Club Hospitality, Bastien Blanc. As a proud Pakistani, Mehreen explained, 'Bringing SupperClub to Pakistan feels like a full-circle moment for me. It's a country with a deep love for food, culture, and connection, and we are thrilled to introduce something we built to the people who understand the joy of dining better than anyone. SupperClub will give both locals and expats in Pakistan exclusive offers to their favourite restaurants in a way that feels elevated, effortless, and just a little more special.' She continued, 'What makes it even more exciting is that we have so many travellers going between Pakistan and the UAE and now, with SupperClub, they can enjoy the same perks in both regions. It's about making premium offers more accessible, more seamless, and more rewarding, wherever you are.' Commenting on the collaboration, Mr. Blanc said, 'This partnership is more than a collection of benefits, it's a bridge between vibrant cultures, offering unforgettable journeys to those who seek the extraordinary.' Launched in Dubai in November 2020, SupperClub set out to fill a gap in the market for luxury experiences at high-end venues, offered at exceptional rates and in a seamless, discreet manner. It has built an extensive portfolio of affiliations with luxurious hotels, restaurants, spas and beach clubs around the region. Explaining the distinctiveness of the business, Mehreen said, 'SupperClub is unique in providing the best offers in exclusive places with the most discreet administration of the discount; no one needs to know you are availing an offer by showing a card or entering a code. All you need to do is become a member, make a booking at your favourite restaurant and when you arrive at the venue, the discount is applied automatically.' Beyond the GCC and Pakistan, SupperClub is also establishing a strong presence in Africa, with leading brands such as Pullman Capetown; Culinary Table, Johannesburg; The Burgundy by Chef Stone, Abuja; and RSVP, Lagos. With plans to continue their global expansion, Mehreen concluded, 'SupperClub Middle East is a platform for those who value premium experiences and smart spending. Members enjoy unlimited access to exclusive dining offers, beach and pool days, and lifestyle perks – all booked seamlessly via the platform or through our dedicated concierge. It's a discreet, elevated way to enjoy these experiences, and we're excited to be expanding this concept into new markets.' ——– About SupperClub Middle East SupperClub Middle East is a premium membership discount platform launched in the UAE in 2020 by co-founders Mehreen Omar and Muna Mustafa. Israel-Iran conflict: 'We are scared', Indian students desperately await evacuation; 110 already rescued

AP photo Trapped in basements, cut off by weak internet, and haunted by the fear of what the next moment might bring, many Indian students desperately await evacuation. Meanwhile, over 100 students have already been moved to neighbouring Armenia as the Israel-Iran conflict spirals out of control. For Mehreen Zaffar, a medical student at the Tehran University of Medical Sciences, every siren is a jolt of terror, every blackout a chilling reminder of how fragile safety has become in conflict-ridden West Asia. The Indian student at Tehran University of Medical Sciences now lives in the shadow of war, as the skies over Iran's capital erupt with alarms and uncertainty. "We are scared. We have been calling for help but nothing is happening," Mehreen told news agency PTI, with her voice trembling under the weight of uncertainty. "Iran is on black alert. We do not know what is happening. We have been kept in a basement for safety purposes but we are scared. Since the internet is weak, we are unable to even contact our family members. Back home, they are worried for our safety," she further said. Mehreen, the third-year MBBS student, is among more than 70 Indian students waiting to be rescued from a warzone that is tightening its grip by the hour. For many, the only hope now rests on frantic diplomatic efforts and the promise of evacuation flights, as their families back home hold their breath. by Taboola by Taboola Sponsored Links Sponsored Links Promoted Links Promoted Links You May Like What She Did Mid-Air Left Passengers Speechless medalmerit Learn More Undo "We have been calling for help but have not received anything. We do not know anything. We want evacuation. We have full hopes from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and we need help. We cannot stay like this," she added. Faizan Nabi, a 21-year-old student at Kerman University of Medical Sciences, also said the situation in his city, though tense, is not as severe as in Tehran. "The situation is not as bad here (Kerman) as in Tehran. But there is still fear. We are hoping that we will be relocated to some safe location soon," he said, adding that he has already started packing his bags. Meanwhile, Huzaif Malik, a student from Urmia University of Medical Sciences, was among those successfully evacuated to Armenia by Indian authorities. "We were in Urmia which was relatively safe. We have reached Armenia," he said. As tensions escalate, Indian students in Tehran have been moved out of the city, with 110 of them successfully crossing the border into Armenia through arrangements facilitated by the Indian Embassy. According to the Jammu and Kashmir Students' Association, all the students who crossed the Iran-Armenia border have now safely reached Yerevan, Armenia's capital. They have been accommodated in hotels at designated locations and are scheduled to fly to Delhi on Wednesday. All necessary travel arrangements are being coordinated by Indian authorities. The ministry of external Affairs (MEA) said in a statement that the Indian Embassy in Iran has been in continuous contact with the Indian community to provide all possible assistance.

Kashmiri students worry about studies, family income

1 2 Noida: Kashmiri students in NCR are worried about the economic fallout of the Pahalgam terror attack and the exodus of tourists from the Valley, which could have a long-term effect on their families' livelihoods back home and consequently, their studies. Stability in the Kashmir valley over the past few years has been bringing in waves of tourists, helping drive up incomes of locals and boosting the economy, which is largely around the travel industry. IC Markets Start Now "In the past two days, almost 70% of car bookings were cancelled. My father and brother-in-law have been running a transportation business in Kashmir for the past 15 years. No matter how adverse the situation was earlier, be it the 2019 Pulwama attack or the 2016 unrest, the situation has not been this critical that tourists have cancelled trips," Mehreen said. The 22-year-old said her family could fund her studies in NCR because of stable income from the business over the past few years. "My brother is in school, and he also aspires to pursue higher education outside Kashmir. My sister's wedding was fixed and was to happen in a few months. With such financial loss, it will be difficult for my family to sustain all these expenses," she said. Shoqeen, a second-year BTech student at the university, said his family, too, is reeling from the loss of customers. "We have a hotel in Pahalgam, and in one day, all 120 rooms got vacant. Some even cancelled bookings. The situation is adverse. Kashmir has always been known for its generosity and hospitality to tourists. Such incidents will hamper our livelihoods. Moreover, we condemn such acts," the second-year student said. A picturesque meadow surrounded by snow-capped Himalayas and pine trees in Pahalgam was the site of Tuesday's gruesome attack by gunmen who opened fire on visitors, most of them tourists, killing at least 26. The terror attack, carried out at the start of the annual tourist season, emptied out hotels as visitors rushed to leave the Valley. Shoqeen said companies providing transport services and hotels have announced free pick-up and drops apart from concessions to bring back tourists. Others said they were afraid of any backlash and were not moving out of the college campus freely. "There have been several instances in Chandigarh and Uttarakhand and other states, where Kashmiri Muslim students were asked to leave campus or they were cornered. The situation is scary. We have not gone out of the campus for the past 2 days," a 21-year-old student said. "Every time anything happens between the two nations (India and Pakistan), it's the Kashmiris who are affected the most. We want peace and to live our lives happily. Last time in 2019 (after the Pulwama attack), there was a long internet outage in Kashmir. A lot of students left the Valley just to pursue their curriculum, to download PDFs and save them on pen drives to be able to study. Many of my cousins' families are dependent on professions such as shikara boat rides, selling dry fruits or handloom work. These situations will bring them to the road, as it happened during the (pandemic) lockdown and the 2019 attack," said another student who did not wish to be named. Ajit Kumar, director of Sharda University, said there are around 500 Kashmiri students at the varsity. "They are in a state of distress. But we have provided all kinds of support to the students to make them feel safe," Kumar said.
