Katy Perry poses with fans at RAC Arena while incognito
She's known for her futuristic outfits, big personality and even bigger voice, but pop star Katy Perry turned her volume way down on Monday afternoon as she moseyed around RAC Arena to surprise unsuspecting fans. Ahead of her second Perth show in as many nights, the Dark Horse singer grabbed a takeaway coffee incognito, posing outside of the venue dressed in a warm jacket, hoodie, cap and sunglasses as she left very little of herself exposed. The singer was blessed with a rare window of sunshine on an otherwise cold and blustery winter's day, offering a soft grin as the sun's warm glow kissed her shoulder. (KatyCats)', she said, offering a peace sign to the camera. Continuing her antics inside the arena, the pop star ventured over to the merchandise desk to surprise her supporting act Kinder and staff who did not seem to be expecting her. 'Walked to work, ran into Kinder at the merch station,' she teased. Perry was joined by her husband, actor Orlando Bloom, and their daughter Daisy in Perth — with the father-daughter pair spotted strolling through the city on Sunday. The singer's two local shows were largely well-received — headlined by flashy visuals, sky-high acrobatics and fan cameos on stage. Teenager Archie Richards attended both nights of Perry's concert dressed as a Menu Log 'sandwich board', inspired by Perry's 2022 food delivery commercial. After sharing the stage with his idol on Sunday night, Archie told PerthNow that the experience 'didn't feel real'. 'I think she was a bit taken aback. It's not every day you see a teenage boy dressed up in a Menu Log sandwich board,' he joked. Perry is set to perform four shows in Adelaide before the end of June to round out her Australian leg of The Lifetimes Tour.

Perth teen's crazy outfit results in Katy Perry stage time
An Armadale teen's bizarre decision to dress as an orange 'sandwich board' inspired by Katy Perry's 2022 Menu Log commercial has resulted in an unforgettable moment on stage with the pop star. After turning 16 on Friday, Archie Richards used Perry's Sunday night RAC Arena show as the setting for his birthday party. Summoned to the stage by the performer alongside several other fans in eye-catching outfits, the teen was encouraged to rap a few famous lines from the advert — and even took some snaps with the star he's admired for more than 10 years. 'It just didn't feel real.' Asked how the Roar singer reacted to his obscure outfit choice, Mr Richards believes he caught her slightly off guard. 'I think she was a bit taken aback. It's not every day you see a teenage boy dressed up in a Menu Log sandwich board,' he joked. Each moment of his performance was caught on camera by his 'ecstatic' friend, with the audience lapping up the youngster's energy. However, his unforgettable experience almost didn't happen. The teen said that his one-of-a-kind outfit was a last-minute DIY job, initially planning to attend as a 'firework' before a change of heart. 'I thought, 'What if I just paint (the cardboard) orange and stick some glitter in the shape of Menu Log on it?',' he recalled. 'I made it the day of the concert in about two hours, so I'm pretty proud of it.' Perry played a mix of her classic hits, such as Dark Horse and Roar, as well as recent hits from her 2024 album titled 143. The 40-year-old's famous husband, actor Orlando Bloom, and her daughter Daisy have accompanied the star in Perth. With Mr Richards part of the next-generation of Perry fans, the teen showed his age when asked how he felt about the Pirates of the Caribbean star's presence in town. 'To be completely honest, I don't know who Orlando Bloom is,' he said. The excited fan said he would be attending the singer's second show in Perth on Monday night, and vowed to 'outfit repeat' after success the first time. 'Same costume, but I'm sitting a lot closer so she'll definitely see me,' he said.
