South African Jordan Pepper takes maiden DTM victory at Norisring
With 20kg of success ballast on-board thanks to his victory, Pepper started ninth on the grid for Sunday's second race of the weekend. A multi-car incident at the exit of turn one — which forced both Thiim and Bortolotti out — caused an early red flag. After dropping a couple of places at the restart, Pepper emerged from the two mandatory pit-stops in ninth place, consolidating his starting position. It means that Pepper heads into the second half of the DTM season joint second in the drivers' standings, just seven points behind championship leader, Austrian driver Lucas Auer and nephew of former Formula 1 driver Gerhard Berger in a Mercedes-AMG GT. 'It's been a perfect two weeks and a great way to bounce back after the last three weeks. To finally get that first DTM win, after a difficult Zandvoort, is amazing and coming off a very difficult Spa in terms of physical and mental effort has been great,' said Pepper on his win. The season resumes at the Nürburgring on August 9-10 while the Huracán's successor, the Temerario GT3 will be officially unveiled at the Goodwood Festival of Speed on July 11.

2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ First Look
Mercedes-AMG has a storied history, and in this century, the brand transcended from tuning Mercedes saloons and estates to dishing out fully-developed sportscars, which began with the Mercedes SLS AMG. The SLS was the first Mercedes-Benz automobile designed and built from scratch entirely by AMG and it debuted with a massive 6.3-litre V8. The SLS is etched in the history books of Mercedes-Benz, as being the first proper AMG, and it was followed up by the Mercedes-AMG GT. The car was available in India till five years ago, and now the second-generation has made it to our before, the GT is available only in the top-spec 63 guise, but here is a cherry on the top, India also gets the 63 Pro, a more hardcore, track weapon, as well, but Mercedes-Benz only had the 63 on display for us, and so that is what we are going to cover here. 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+: ExteriorDimensionally, the GT is 182mm longer, 45mm wider and 66mm taller, and this also uses a 70mm longer wheelbase. While it isbigger, the GT actually looks slightly smaller compared to the older car, courtesy of the curves I would reckon, giving it a bit of the SLK presence. At the front, it gets a massive slatted radiator grille, flanked by LED headlamps. Over to the sides, the long bonnet, cab backward design gives the GT its signature look. Under the nose sits an active aero element, that reduces the pressure below the car, hence helping with the downforce. advertisement At the rear, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 gets a nice sloping roofline, that also houses the glass window. The carbon fibre wing at the back is the real shhowstopper, it looks sleek, is functional all the way and lets the lurking 911s know that this isn't a 43 or a 55 AMG, this is the full-fat 63. An element that really sets this car apart from all other Mercs are the triple-pod LED taillamps, they look slick, and add to the character. Down below, is a massive all carbon diffuser, with quad-tip tailpipes, and these are slightly disappointing. For most of us, even if it doesn't sound loud, the exhaust needs to look loud, and these look a bit quiet, but I am sure the shape and size has to do with aero. The fixed carbon wing is beyond cool, and adds teeth to the GT 63 The GT uses a mix of aluminium, steel, magnesium and carbon-fibre reinforced plastics, have been used around the construction of the GT to keep it strong yet light.2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+: Interior Inside, customers are greeted with a familiar look, that is shared with the Mercedes-AMG SL. It gets a bit more carbon fibre and Alcantara, adding to the sportiness. The driver gets a 12.3-inch instrument panel, with AMG specific displays, and this being placed inside a binnacle does wonders to how one perceives this digital display. The centre is dominated by a 11.6-inch titled display, that runs MBUX. The rest of the cabin is pretty standard AMG, powered sport seats, Nappa leather, Burmester audio, ambient lighting is interesting is that because the GT is bigger, Mercedes has propped in two more seats. Although these do not qualify as seats because adults cannot fit in without a lot of hassle, so these are mainly for the children or groceries. Speaking of storage, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+ may be one of the most practical sportscar ever, it gets a sizeable 321-litre boot, that can fit in two-three luggage pieces and that for a car that packs in a V8 is a true compliment. This can even be expanded to over 600-litres with the rear seats dropped. advertisement2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+: SpecificationsPower comes from a 4.0-litre twin-turbo V8 that delivers 585bhp and 800Nm of torque, sent to all the wheels via 4MATIC+ AWD. The GT 63 can sprint from 0 to 100kmph in 3.2 seconds, and to a top speed of 315kmph. The 9-speed DCT features a wet starter clutch, that has been mounted at the end of the V8. The GT 63 gets Active Ride Control Suspension, a 30mm front axle lift, and rear-wheel steering as standard. It gets many drive modes including the new Drift mode that sends power to the rear wheels, allowing for easier drifting manoeuvres. 2025 Mercedes-AMG GT 63 4MATIC+: PriceThe Mercedes-AMG GT63 is priced at Rs 3.00 crore (ex-showroom), while the more hardcore GT63 Pro is priced at Rs 3.65 crore (ex-showroom). At this price, the AG competes mainly with the Porsche 911 Carrera 4 GTS priced at Rs 2.84 crore (ex-showroom).advertisementSubscribe to Auto Today Magazine- Ends

Mercedes-AMG Teamed Up With a Viral Art Collective on Weird Car-Inspired Furniture
To many bona fide car enthusiasts around the world, Mercedes-Benz's high-performance division, AMG, is primarily known for powerful and fast versions of vehicles from the three-pointed star. However, its latest collaboration explores a creative junction that transcends its reputation for sheer speed. As part of its efforts for the 2025 NYCxDesign Festival, AMG was recruited to work with the provocative and controversial artist collective MSCHF (pronounced as 'mischief) on a collection of conceptual avant-garde art pieces. Titled "MSCHF x AMG: Not for Automotive Use," the Brooklyn-based artists collaborated with the high-performance brand on a collection of pieces that incorporate aesthetic elements and actual components from Mercedes-AMG cars into the design of some modern furniture pieces, including chairs, lamps, and even trash bins. But if you were thinking something akin to IKEA, Herman Miller, or even the home collections of Bentley or Bugatti, think again. These pieces are more akin to sculptures that belong in the Whitney or MoMA than any multi-million-dollar high-rise penthouse. The "Not for Automotive Use" collection consists of nine individual items, including: Seatbelt Shelf - an aluminum 5-tier shelf stabilized by five double-ended sets of seatbelts in AMG red and yellow, which can be independently clipped and unclipped to maintain even Light - A lamp made out of an aluminum frame and an AMG seatbelt. Buckling the seatbelt turns on the lamp and unbuckling it and allowing the seatbelt to spool back turns the light Chair - A steel-framed chair where AMG seatbelts are the back and bottom cushions. A single solid red seatbelt wraps around the chair frame and is clipped at the bottom of the chair. Seatbelt Rack - Similar to the Seatbelt Shelf, this aluminum clothes rack is stabilized by five double-ended sets of AMG red and yellow seatbelts. These pair with hangers made from the seatbacks of AMG Performance Grill - A charcoal grille with a grilling surface shaped like a Mercedes-AMG GT radiator Table - A dining table with an aluminum tabletop on a tubular steel base, which is detailed with a double-ended AMG seatbelt. Headlight Couch - A 70s-styled microfiber loungeback couch designed to mimic the shape of the front end of a Mercedes-AMG GT. For the extra touch, it incorporates functional AMG GT headlights with working turn Fan - A floor fan built into an actual AMG Interlagos wheel. It is also styled with yellow AMG seatbelts, which help it stick onto its milled anodized aluminum Chair - A task chair that incorporates three actual AMG headrests slotted onto a tubular steel frame. Inspired by a roll cage, Mercedes and MSCHF say that this piece is supportive of the thighs and lower back for a comfortable posture. MSCHF and Mercedes-AMG claim that the pieces in the collection pay tribute to the Italian Radical Design counterculture movement of the 1960s. In this collection, Mercedes-AMG's cars are reimagined as everyday objects, and some of the pieces are inspired by the late Milanese designer Achille Castiglioni, who used tractor and bicycle seating in his designs. The pieces in this collection will be on display at MSCHF's workshop in Greenpoint, Brooklyn, from May 15-17, marking the first time that the collective has opened its doors to the public. Accompanying this collection is a line of limited-edition apparel, including t-shirts, sweatshirts, and work pants printed with stylized high-res scans of AMG vehicle components and the AMG logo, which are available for purchase on the MSCHF website. Buyers can purchase the furniture in "very limited quantities" on an exclusive, made-to-order basis. Prices are unknown, but according to MSCHF, all pieces will be available to order until 5/31/2025 and will take 18-36 weeks to make. I was first made aware of this collection through a social media campaign starring storied YouTuber Casey Neistat, a filmmaker who has partnered with Mercedes-Benz and MSCHF in the past. Notably, in 2022, Neistat participated in an MSCHF experiment in which a thousand $20 keys gained access to one shared car. MSCHF's provocative art pieces are designed for maximum virality and controversy. They were the brainchildren behind stunts like Lil Nas X's "Satan shoes," a perfume that smells like WD-40, the infamous Big Red Boots, as well as Tax Heaven 3000, an anime dating simulation video game that doubles as Turbotax-esque federal income tax return filing software. Overall, I think the link between AMG and MSCHF is a very creative endeavour, especially given MSCHF's reputation for ruffling social, moral, and legal feathers in the past. However, given this, I think some fat-walleted AMG enthusiasts will jump at the opportunity to own one or a few of these pieces. Copyright 2025 The Arena Group, Inc. All Rights Reserved.

Mercedes-Benz doubles down on high-end strategy in Korean market
At the 2025 Seoul Mobility Show, Mercedes-Benz Korea gave visitors a glimpse of where luxury driving is headed. Alongside its latest premium models, the brand introduced a range of personalized services designed to reflect the evolving tastes of Korean consumers. This initiative is part of Mercedes-Benz Korea's broader strategy to elevate its luxury positioning in 2025. By launching high-end vehicles and tailored experiences, the company continues to align with its global vision: 'The world's most desirable cars.' Leading the lineup was the Korean debut of the fully redesigned second-generation Mercedes-AMG GT — a bold, two-door coupe that delivers true sports car performance while staying rooted in the brand's signature design DNA. Also making its debut was the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53 4MATIC+ Coupe. With clean lines, powerful performance and cutting-edge technology, the model is set to launch in Korea in the second half of the year. Taking exclusivity to the next level, Mercedes-Benz Korea showcased the limited-edition AMG E 53 Hybrid 4MATIC+ Edition 1. With just 10 available in Korea, the model pairs hybrid innovation with striking design and is priced at 160.8 million won ($112,000). To meet growing demand for personalization, the brand also presented its flagship 'Manufaktur' customization program, giving discerning customers the opportunity to match every detail — from leather texture to interior finishes — to their individual tastes. Sales continue to underscore the brand's strong presence in Korea. The 11th-generation E-Class was once again the best-selling imported model in 2024, maintaining its top spot for the tenth consecutive year. The G-Class recorded a sales high of 2,613 units, with both the G-Class and Mercedes-Maybach surpassing 10,000 cumulative sales in the country. The S-Class also led sales in the imported full-size internal combustion sedan segment, according to the Korea Automobile Importers & Distributors Association. Since 2016, Korea has been the third-largest global market for the S-Class, following only China and the United States — further proof that Mercedes-Benz remains the preferred choice for Korea's luxury drivers.
