‘Green Bones' donates set props to Manila City Jail
'Green Bones,' starring Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid, has donated its props and set pieces to the Manila City Jail. On Monday, GMA Pictures shared a video on social media of the Manila City Jail Male Dorm featuring some of the props used in the film, such as wooden bunk beds, tables, and chairs that will now be used by persons deprived of liberty (PDLs). According to SJ01 Melchor Sevellino, the PDLs in the dorm are all senior citizens. 'From reel to real life,' the caption read. Previously, the Manila City Jail held a special screening of 'Green Bones.' The film, produced by GMA Pictures, is directed by Zig Dulay based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs. It follows Domingo Zamora (Dennis Trillo), who is notorious for the murder of his sister and her daughter. Now that Domingo is up for parole, the newly assigned prison guard (Ruru Madrid) takes a personal interest in making sure that he remains behind bars no matter what. On Sunday night, "Green Bones" took home five awards at the 8th Entertainment Editors' Choice Awards (EDDYS Awards), which include: Best Picture, Best Actor for Dennis, Best Supporting Actor for Ruru, Best Director for Dulay, and Best Cinematography for Neil Daza. It also bagged several awards at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024, such as Best Picture, Best Screenplay (Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Angeli Atienza), Best Actor (Dennis), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru), Best Cinematography (Neil), and Best Child Performer (Sienna Stevens). Moreover, it won First Best Picture, Best Actor (Dennis), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru), and Best Director (Direk Zig) at the 3rd Gawad Dangal Filipino Awards. 'Green Bones' garners 9 nominations at The Eddys Awards 2025
"Green Bones" has been nominated for nine awards at The Entertainment Editors' Choice (The Eddys) Awards by the Society of Philippine Entertainment Editors (SPEEd), GMA Pictures announced Tuesday. The film garnered nominations for Best Picture, Best Director for Zig Dulay, and Best Screenplay for Ricky Lee and Angeli Atienza. "Green Bones" stars Dennis Trillo and Ruru Madrid were also nominated for Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor, respectively. The film was likewise nominated for Best Cinematography for Neil Daza, Best Production Design for Maolen Fadul, Best Editing for Benjamin Tolentino, and Best Musical Score for Len Calvo. Even more, GMA Pictures shared the good news that they were named Producer of the Year by the award-giving body for their "contributions to Philippine cinema over the past year." "Green Bones," produced by GMA Pictures and GMA Public Affairs, is directed by Direk Zig based on an original story by JC Rubio, senior documentary manager of GMA Public Affairs. Ruru Madrid is Movie Supporting Actor of the Year at Guillermo Mendoza Awards 2025
Ruru Madrid is this year's Movie Supporting Actor of the Year at the 53rd Guillermo Mendoza Awards for the film "Green Bones." On Facebook, the Kapuso Prime Action Hero shared a photo of his latest trophy and captioned it with, "Salamat po, Ama!" "Green Bones" won the Best Picture award at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2024, as well as Best Screenplay (Ricky Lee and MMFF 2023 Best Screenplay winner Angeli Atienza), Best Actor (Dennis Trillo), Best Supporting Actor (Ruru), Best Cinematography (Neil Daza), and Best Child Performer (Sienna Stevens). The GMA Pictures film debuted on Netflix this June and immediately climbed to the top spot on the list of Top Movies in the Philippines on its debut week. Sienna Stevens to play young Mitena in 'Sang'gre'
Sienna Stevens will play the younger version of "Sang'gre" main villain Mitena! The trailer for the highly-anticipated fantasy series released on Sunday showed the Kapuso child star as the younger counterpart of Rhian Ramos. She was shown portraying Mitena when she was imprisoned in the ice realm of Mine-ave after she was born as an Ivtre or a spirit. Sienna previously starred in "Royal Blood" as the daughter of Dingdong Dantes. She also appeared in Metro Manila Film Festival 2024 Best Picture "Green Bones," winning Best Child Performer for her portrayal of the younger Sofia Pablo. "Sang'gre" stars Bianca Umali, Faith Da Silva, Kelvin Miranda, and Angel Guardian as the new keepers of the gems of fire, water, air, and earth.
